Charlotte’s Web… of lies. We probably should have turned the car around when we nearly ran into the doped up kid in the street, but we pulled into the parking lot anyway. Once we got in, we were ignored since there was no one greeting guests. After a few minutes we were acknowledged and then seated about 5 minutes after that even though no one else was waiting to be seated. Once seated we were given the obligatory one slice of bread per person. Since our waitress abandoned us for a while, a second slice would have come in handy. Our waitress came back only to take the order of the table that was seated well after we arrived. We ordered the eggplant rollatini, which was nice. .not outstanding, but nice. My husband ordered the chicken with vinegar peppers and I had the country chicken on the bone. My dish was good, his wasn’t. The vinegar overpowered his meal. In the end we just laughed at how bad the service was. We won’t be going back.

If I could give ½ a star, I would. We made reservations for Valentine’s day as this had been our go-to«special occaission» restaurant for years. The owner«greeted» us, not with a hello, or a smile but a curt, «do you have a reservation?» She seemed annoyed and we were sat by a door… it was so cold by this door(which leads to the main entrance). This was disturbing as there were open seatings further into the room that remained open for our entire meal. We had to ask for bread while everyone around us received multiple portions. We had to ask the waitress to refill our water glasses twice. We ordered an appetizer with a hot, spicy sauce: we got a mild one. The waitress did not return so we ate it. When we pointed out the error– she argued that we could not possibly have had a mild sauce. The meal was ok but the same meal at Charlotte’s used to be outstanding and less money. We paid our bill in cash and the waitress asked if we wanted our change… Save yourself money and aggravation, you’ll be better off at a diner. We are now former customers.

I enjoyed my chicken sandwich but my mother had an interesting incident with a scrod special… she didn’t know that cherry peppers are spicy and ordered the dish. When she found out it was very spicy after her first bite, she notified the waitress and the waitress was quite condescending to my mom(even pulling out the menu and reading it to her — didn’t you know it’s spicy? It says cherry peppers right here). She was quite prickly about changing the dish. I mean, isn’t the customer always right? Otherwise not too bad!

We love this place! Haven’t been able to get there for quite some time, but are planning on going this weekend for our anniversary. Liver And onions makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Met the owner and his wife last year on a bus trip to the Culinary Institute. So nice. Dinner on Sunday was delicious. Had the liver and onions in the balsamic reduction liked I planned. Splurged with a perfect cannoli for dessert. Great to see Charlotte and Sal.

The food here at this old style italian restaurant was ok. The portions were big and affordable. The décor is very outdated but in a fun old school kind of way. The only wow food was their tiramisu. That was outstanding. I’d go back in a pinch.

Always wanted to go here finally went . Seated immediately. The ambience is very quaint(dark) . The waitress was very nice and came over immediately to take drink order. Was honest about Coke being served out of a soda gun which can be tasteless . Busboy came by with big bread basket I got nervous thought he was leaving it for the table. Served one piece to each of us. Odd but ok. Guess they don’t want you to fill up on bread. Menu was classic American /Italian fare. With nightly pub specials . I had the chicken scarpiello with a side of pasta. The one critique I can give is «I don’t care who says it but the pasta water DOESNOT have to be like the Ocean» very salty pasta. But chicken was excellent. Will be back(oh and we asked for more bread and they gave us some . Second time here. Food was excellent. I had the porkchops with vinegar peppers and the veggie side which was potatoes and string beans. And for dessert a three nut Pie warmed OHMYGOODNESS. I need the recipe

Very good salads and really great main course dishes. The scallops in cream sauce over angel hair was unbelievable. I also recommend the chicken cordon bleu which was the best that I ever had. Keep in mind If you don’t have a reservation and they are busy, seating can be kinda close so try and call ahead. Very homey type feel to it but it is a bit dark. Prices are reasonable and portions are plentiful.

Terrible service. When I dine here with my friends I get decent service but when I am eating here with my family we get rude, unwelcoming service. I am not one to assume rude service is due to racism but this has happened on several occasions. The pork chops are tough and lack flavor but the pasta is OK. I would never dine here again.

Tucked away in Dover off Rt. 46, this gem is wonderful. Been here many times. Service is fast and attentive. Never had a bad meal here. Everything on the menu and specials are prepared beautifully. A must-stop if you’re in the area and hungry.

Charlotte’s Web is a very cozy restaurant and an old favorite. The food is very good. Most of their entrée offerings have generous portions. And though the majority of the menu is Italian, there are also a few«pub-type» dishes that are done very well(their French Onion soup has to be some of the best I’ve ever sampled). The servers are polite and courteous. The exterior/interior have a bit of a «rustic feel» to them, but it is very clean and well maintained. When you walk in, the bar-area has a pub-like atmosphere, with bar stools, tables, and a television to watch sporting events. On the other side of the restaurant, a well laid out dining area with dark wood tables is both quaint and intimate for diners to enjoy their meal. The owner, Sal, is very hands on and pleasant(the restaurant is named after his wife Charlotte). He walks around to speak to patrons and inquire as to how their meal is. If you’re looking for a local restaurant with good service and food, I would highly recommend checking them out.

Great food in a true family run restaurant with EXCEPTIONAL service, especially if you eat in the bar! I am a real fan of Charlotte’s Web! The main reason is that I have never had a bad meal here, but also because they have the BESTVEAL dish I have ever eaten ANYWHERE on their menu. It is called«Veal ala Carlos. and it is without a doubt the most tender, most flavorful veal dish you could ever ask for or hope to eat. The secret is the fact that the veal is layered with ham, cheese(I believe mozzarella) and a very light white wine sauce. The side dishes are generally a pasta and a vegetable, but it is the main dish itself that shines and keeps bringing me back. Their appetizers, especially if you like seafood such as clams of any kind are also very well executed, plated and reasonably priced. I’m also blessed by the fact that I live nearby and can get to Charlotte’s Web in less than 10 minutes. Their menu is comprehensive and diverse and there is something on it for everyone. I heartily recommend Charlotte’s Web for a great dining experience served to their customers by a family and staff that truly cares about the quality of their food and service and the well deserved reputation of their establishment.

I attended a bridal shower here today at Charlotte’s Web… This restaurant is cute. sort of a farmhouse in the country feel to it… cute kitchen curtains, a fake«spider web» in the corner(Charlotte), pictures from the Charlotte’s Web book on the wall… little dark wood tables here and there… And the food? Excellent! I had for appetizers: clams casino(couldn’t stop eating them), regular stuffed clams, a sort of toast with mozzarella inside and breaded zucchini with a homemade tomato sauce…(on the side). My entrée was chicken parm(thin slices nicely breaded and flavored), green beans(perfect, not too mushy but nicely seasoned and not too seedy or anything), mashed potatoes and a garlicy penne with sauce… The help was very kind, very accommodating… no complaints… All in all where to go for good Italian food and also pot roast is the specialty here… also the salmon is very good(comments I heard from my neighbors)…
