Cute spot. Live music. Full bar. Fresh food. Nice for a date or if you just want a local bar that isn’t divey.

Took my GF and mom for an early Mothers Day dinner tonite. The place is in the heart of Dover and street parking was non-existent, but there was plenty of parking in the town lot directly behind the place. We were greated by friendly staff and told to check in with Chuck. He is the owner. Chuck seated us with menus and specials lists. Our waitress came for drink orders. She was ok but not as friendly or as informing as the rest of the staff. We ordered drinks and entrees. NY Strip, Salmon over spinach and Shrimp Fra Diablo. Everyones meals came out perfect. This place is a hidden little gem and I have to make a point of getting there again soon.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick dinner before a show last Saturday night. The place was hopping with live music and a lively crowd. We were in a bit of a rush so we ordered quickly and sipped refreshing sangria. Their service was friendly and fast. We ordered a couple of pasta dishes which were excellent. The meatballs tasted homemade pan-fried. Next time we plan on staying around to enjoy the music and appys and desserts. We’ll be back.

This was the worst service and food ever! The steak was horrible and chicken was under cooked. Yuk! Never again.

*****please read****This is my second time returning to this bar. The place looks clean and up to date. The service is great all the staff are friendly. This is the only place around dover where I could have a martini sitting down peacefully and have a conversation: the food could be improved I order the friend calamari and all I could Taste was the battered. My boyfriend ordered the spaghetti and meat balls but they were a toasty which is not normal for a meatball. Overall the food needs improvement the drinks are awesome.**^^^********^****************So five days later I’m back at table 42 this time I brought one of my good friends I have to say Friday nights it’s a different beast Haha. We ordered half a dozen oysters(fresh), the steak quesadillas(crispy and steak was nice and tendered when ordered medium) and the margarita pizza pie(crispy)all the food was fresh no complaints what so ever. The staff were friendly as usual regardless of how busy they were. The live band was awesome and talented, the music wasn’t loud. We had a great time and I’ll be coming back for some good martinis and live entertainment.

Great Dinner ! It was Sunday evening, and didn’t feel like cooking so a friend and myself decided to go out to dinner. We chose Table 42 because I had been there before and it has always been very good. This time was no different. There was a small crowd of people, which was nice for me since I wanted something quiet. Ordered a steak and I didn’t go wrong. It was as good if not better than ones I have had at Ruth’s Chris or Mortons.(but at a 1⁄3 of the price) Very nice surroundings, nice atmosphere, and nice waitress. Didn’t see the owner there, but hey, he gets a day off too ! Anyway, very pleased with everything and I will go there again.

If you love delicious Italian food in a renovated, yet historic setting, this is the place. The rigatoni with sausage in a cream sauce is absolutely amazing and I can’t help but order it every time I go there. It’s just one of those dishes that even though you may be full, you still crave more of because the sauce is something else. Also the sambuca shrimp and sambuca pizza are great as well. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal or bad experience there. Thursday night karaōke has also been fun.

Service was not good. We were one of 3 tables in the whole resturant. We were never given bread, my salad was brown and had to be sent back. I also asked the waitress if they did side orders of pasta, she said yes so I asked for a side order of penne with vodka sauce. Penne with red sauce was brought out and I was then told side orders can’t be done with vodka sauce. After everyone was almost done she told me the chef said he would make the sauce, I asked about the salad and she said oh I thought you didn’t want it. Very frustrating as i was starving. I will say the pasta wss good. When the bill came, I was still being charged for the salad. Not a good experience at all.

Visited this place before the storm. I was disappointed to learn happy hour ended 10 minutes before the allotted time. If you’re marketing happy hour for 2 or 3 hours, customers expect it to end at its designated end period – not prematurely. I thought the food was ok. It’s not little Italy but clean and friendly. I’d visit for a draft.

Menu is limited and food is bland. Save your money and go elsewhere. Pizza is frozen and reheated.

So back to Table 42 last nite. A Saturday with a party going on in the other room. Lots of new servers. Had to ask for bread/oil. Had to ask 3 times for a lime for my drink. Waited too long for appetizers. Waited too long for meal. Chicken piccata tough. Tough chicken means under-cooked to me. Was about to send out for pizza! Was told dessert was on the house. No choice. Just balls of sugar-powdered hot dough. Enough with Table 42 for a while.

If I could give them 10 stars I would! The food is amazing and fresh. The staff is friendly and wonderful. Chuck(the owner) is a real professional and friendly. There is a great Wednesday night open mic that is so entertaining. They usually have talent on Fridays and Saturdays as well. It’s a very mellow, nice, dinner crowd. Great place to have a few drinks with friends and partake in the bar food menu. Their food SOGOOD! They have a great pizza oven with amazing pizzas. AND… now the bread before your meal is made in the pizza oven — must try it. Whenever I travel for work I can’t wait to come home and get my Table 42 fix.

The bread they serve at the table was cold, but the oil was delicious. The penne with red sauce was ok. The penne was hard. They took very long to serve.

Big menu, excellent food, and attentive service. Went in on a Friday night ahead of the crowd and had a great experience. Well worth visiting.

The service was not great when I went, but I’m giving them a pass because we were there for a wedding cocktail hour and they did the best they could. The first waitress we had completely ignored us and just never came back to check, but another waitress took over our table and was very attentive after that. My boyfriend didn’t like his burger, but I ordered a Caesar salad(pretty good) and the sambuca pizza(amazing). The martini list is fun, but there are no prices listed. All in all not a bad place, and I’m assuming the service issue was just based on the situation.

What can I say about Table 42? My girlfriends, gay food expert, and I decided to go for drinks and bite to eat. The food and service were phenomenal! The bartender and owner, Chuck, suggested we try the sambuca pizza. The sambuca pizza was out of this world!!! I cannot tell you how amazing this pizza was. The first thing I thought was a pizza that taste like licorice, I’m not sure. From the first bite to the last slice that pizza is one of the best brick oven pizzas I have ever had! No bullsh*t ! I could drink the sauce from that pizza for breakfast lunch and dinner. To wrap up a great evening, the live music on a Wednesday was perfect after a long day. I would suggest this place to everyone. I have a date on Saturday night and I have made my plans to come here for dinner and drinks.

Beer issue has disappeared and I’m loving this place. The food was OUTSTANDING once again. I highly recommend this place. However, here’s something I’d love the owners to consider. The branding of the place. It has the potential to be something unique and refreshing. The food and the décor are A+ but I really would like to consider this place«An Italian Gastro Pub.» I’d love some Italian beers on tap to go with the incredible food. It has the feel of a GREAT Irish pub with the soul of a high end Italian restaurant. I think of pub and I think of meh food, that’s what makes Table 42 unique. Think about wine tastings for Italian wines or happy hour that celebrates the Italian American history in the area. Hook up with some local Sons of Italy type groups. Anyway, the place is great as it is, but branding it an «Italian Pub» makes it much easier to recommend to others. And the more people that go there, the better for everyone. Dover NEEDS this place. Cheers!

Hurry up and go to this place before everyone else discovers it and the line will be out the door! I don’t understand why this place isn’t packed every single day. Sea scallops and chicken are always cooked perfectly. The waitresses all are super friendly and eager to recommend the perfect dish. The atmosphere is also beautiful! I love this place!

This place has real potential. It’s SOMUCH more beautiful on the inside than it looks from the outside(the graphic design on the sign needs some love) but HOLYWOW when you get inside. The place is stunning. The service is also very friendly. Food was great too. I had a salad and it was one of the freshest I’ve had in a long while. This is a great alternative to some low end places in Dover when when you want to grab a bite a few blocks from the train station. Will definitely go back. One compliant is that they aren’t open for lunch, which I understand, as there isn’t the foot traffic in this part of town like there is in, say, Morristown or Denville. Bummer, though, because I was jones’n for some Table 42 at lunch but will make my way down for dinner! Highly recommended.
