Been to this restaurant quite a few times. The food is consistently good. They have a few areas to dine. I prefer the dinning on the outside of the restaurant. You can basically people watch and look at people gambling. They have great oysters and are reasonably priced(especially during happy hour). I am told that the late evening they charge a cover charge and is quite busy. I cannot attest to this as we are usually finished eating dinner before 8:00 pm. The food is generally geared toward seafood. While they have other options, the theme is seafood. My most recent dining, I had the crab cake dinner. I forgot to take a picture of the salad and most forgot to take a picture for dinner. I unfortunately realized to take a picture after I had began eating. I hope the picture ultimately will show that I enjoyed my dinner :) Bön Appetit!!!

I had the crab dip as an appetizer and it looks more like soup than a dip. The crostinis were not crisp and had a weird texture. I got the filet and there was no seasoning whatsoever on it. It was the same way for my friend who ordered the New York strip. Not a very good meal.

The food was good. My lobster bisque wasn’t hot but it wasn’t cold either and it needed pepper. The wedge salad was typical of all wedge salads so no surprises there. I liked the stuffed shrimp but it would have been nice to have more than just four. I’ll go back but I think I will try something different next time.

Been here many times, and it’s generally good food, though sometimes the service can be a bit slow. Situated inside the Dover Downs Casino, this is a decent place to get a steak and some seafood. On this particular visit I had the Iceberg wedge salad to start, and it was very good. Big wedges of lettuce covered with bleu cheese dressing and a bunch of crispy bacon chunks. Entrée was the filet mignon and a lobster tail. I was a bit disappointed with this. The filet could have used more seasoning, and the lobster could have used a lot less, and some drawn butter. The lobster was seasoned with Old Bay. A lot of Old Bay. Lobster is good enough that it shouldn’t need anything except some butter to dip it in, which was absent. Don’t get me wrong, the food was good, but I would have done it different if I had prepared it myself. Service was slow. We got there later in the evening(9:30pm), and the staff seemed like they would rather we just go somewhere else. Once we were seated, the waitress was attentive. Good place, and I’m sure I’ll be back, but I’ll probably request that the food be prepared a bit differently the next time.

I have to say that normally Doc’s is the ONLY place I enjoy a meal in the DOVER area and tonight’s meal was horrific. Do not order the BLT Lobster Tacos if you are actually interested in ANY lobster. How do you not serve any fresh lobster chunks in this taco?! I would have ordered the lobster roll if I’d know I’d get microscopic breaded shreds of unidentifiable lobster claw in this taco. Such a disappointment for the standards I am used to here. :-(

Christa and Kerri are such a great duo behind the bar. I don’t even remember the last time I went to a bar with this great of service, it seemed like they were constantly busy making sure everyone was taking care of. I will easily come back knowing one of these two are barending.

First time at Doc’s and was not let down. Service was excellent and food was great as expected! I got one of the steam pots that was chocked full of clams, mussels, snow crab, corn and potatoes. Only complaint was it was a little lacking on having broth to dip the perfectly cooked seafood in. My better half got the flat iron steak(I wonder myself too, steak at a seafood place) and they nailed it perfectly. It came out a perfectly executed ruby medium rare. She is a picky eater and had nothing but rave reviews! Also being able to book via open table app was great!

I’ve been meaning to post a review from my experience a little while ago. My husband and I used to come here pretty frequently. However, about 2 months ago, I ate here with a group of girl friends. I ordered the seafood cobb salad. The salad came with a small amount of mixed seafood but the quality was terrible. Two of the shrimp was raw(it was still grey and translucent). The restaurant seemed understaffed and I was with a big group so I didn’t want to create extra work for our server. I ate the part of the salad that didn’t touch the shrimp and left the rest. The quality seems to have gone down hill and I haven’t gone back to the restaurant and don’t plan to.

Went for Monday Buck a Shuck Oysters, good selection. Had three different types. Had the crab fries and calamari as well, very well seasoned. I keep remonding the bartender for little stuff like ketchup and beer, if better acknowledged would have been a 5 star.

Worst valentine’s day dinner ever. We should have know it was going to be bad when we were seated at a folding table and chairs. Server was nice, but that was the only thing nice. The chopped salad was frozen, ordered pan seared scallops, half came out over cooked the other half came out under cooked. My wifes chicken dinner did not match what was on the menu. It seems like chefs decided to put there their own spin over the meal, which ruined it. The manager was no help and only seemed to want to get us out so that he could seat another couple. Our last meal here a couple of years ago was a disaster, which is why it took use so long to come back and try again.

We were a party of 3. Tuesday night around 730. The place was not busy. Clean and decent atmosphere in the dining room. Booths are showing signs of wear on the backs. Coconut shrimp for an app. Was very good. Drinks were medicore. Orange crush and peach iced tea. Service was decent. Fried seafood combo was good. Small portions for the price. Ribeye steak was not cooked correct and had to be sent back twice. Was supposed to be med well. Came to the table med rare at best. Bleeding all over the mashed potatoes. 2nd time it came back the waitress had taken it upon herself to cut the steak in half to make sure it was cooked correctly. Still med rare. Will probably go back. But will stick with the seafood. 38 bucks for the Ribeye that obviously no one knows how to cook was a bit steep.

I have actually been here a few times– the most recently last night. A friend had some gift cards and we(Party of 4) were celebrating a birthday. The hostess was friendly, and asked us if we wanted to sit in an area where we could«talk.» My assumption is that most people want to talk to their dinner companions– but I believe she asked us due to the NFL playoffs being on in the front of the restaurant. My team is out, so yes, I was more into chatting with my friends. A disclaimer here, I am not a huge seafood fan– but I will go for it in a seafood restaurant. That being said, I shared the ahi tuna appetizer with a friend– not a huge portion, but just enough– and the wasabi was oh so tasty and sinus clearing. I thoroughly enjoyed my appetizer. I also had a drink called, «Morning Glory,» which was just the right amounts of the liquors– in a martini glass– a ding here– if I am paying $ 9.00 for a cocktail, please fill my martini glass! For my meal I chose the grilled salmon– you have a choice of several grilled fishes– and then a choice of three different sauces. I chose herb and butter. The fish was cooked to perfection, and the portion size was good. Complete with a side of seasonal vegetables and mashed potatoes– and I was fully satisfied. We opted not for dessert, too full– but the desserts are«shooters,» little parfaits in small glasses. No big, juicy sundaes– but that is OK with me. All in all, this was a good meal and I will go back. Full oyster selection for those oyster lovers, full seafood selection, and plenty of other options for those that prefer not to eat seafood.

My husband ordered: North King Crab Legs, Mussels, Clams, Corn, Potatoes, Lemon, Thyme & Butter. He only wanted crab legs so asked that the other items not to be served, but maybe put in an extra crab leg. The waitress came back and said that for $ 30 they could add 3 crab legs. The entrée was $ 25.00 so it seemed reasonable to pay $ 30.00 for the additional legs even though he wasn’t getting the mussels and clams. The crab legs were actually claws and were skinny 4 to 5 inch pieces. We were shocked when the bill came. We were charged an additional $ 30.00 for the meal. It definitely was not explained that way. The total of his entrée came to $ 55.00 and he ate almost none of it. The manage was useless. She said there was nothing she could do and was very aloof. Definitely unprofessional! Will never return!

I had a company dinner here and we were not fans. Many menu items were not available and when dishes such as the crab cakes came out, they were cold– AND tasted more like breaded hush puppies than real fresh crab meat. The fingerling potatoes were hard as rocks. The mussels and other appetizers were ok. The service was good.

It’s nice to have good choices for seafood in Dover and it is appropriate being not too far from the ocean. I also like that it’s in Dover downs so you can do other things after eating. I used the free appetizer coupon from when you check in on Unilocal. It was for orange shrimp. No wonder they had to give it for free. The sauce tasted like someone puked out orange concentrate. So I got a crab cake instead. That was good. But my starter of lobster bisque was the best. I would definitely get that again. My husband said the oysters were ok. Very large but no sand so that’s good. In addition the octopus in the salad was way overcooked. So if you want really good fresh seafood in the area you’re better off going to cool springs. But if you wanna get a lite bite and walk around Dover downs come here.

I come to Dover about once a month and this is what makes my trip worthwhile! I had Doc’s for the first time about two years ago at one of the locations in PA and now I’m finally writing a review. Ha! I love it when I can make it on a Monday because they oysters are $ 1 during a certain time frame. Such a good deal. The oysters are so good and so fresh! There’s always a wide variety to choose from, too. Their lobster ravioli is so delicious, but it is also very rich. This month is lobster month or something like that. So I got a 1 lb lobster for $ 18. Pretty good if you ask me. I love the décor and the atmosphere of the place. Service has always been pretty nice and friendly. No complaints at all for me!

I visited Doc Magrogran’s during race weekend at the end of May. My hopes weren’t high as I assumed the food would be overpriced and cookie-cutter style. To my surprise, Doc’s was awesome! I have no complaints whatsoever. My dirty martini was perfect and delicious. We ordered the arancini and the lobster mac and cheese for appetizers. Everyone agreed the lobster mac had an odd sweetness to it, easily remedied with a pinch of salt. The arancini were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Delicious! I am big on having just the right salad, and their house salad did not disappoint. My entrée was the Grilled Combo, and honestly I don’t remember much about it but I know I cleaned my plate, so there’s that. Cauliflower Mash — delicious! Kudos to our waitress for giving my sister a heads up that the sushi is not necessarily made fresh and recommended she order something else. We appreciated the honesty and acted accordingly. If I ever get back to Dover I will definitely visit Doc’s again. I mean hell, there’s not much else to do in Dover.

My friend and I were looking for a late dinner, preferably seafood and it was already after 11pm on a Thursday night. Luckily we came across Doc’s on Unilocal with seafood and a closing time of 1am! There’s an entrance to the casino that leads you straight to the restaurant. The bar is in the front where the entertainers perform and then there’s a very nice unexpected fine dining area in the back where we sat. I ordered the Blackened Salmon with the roasted fingerling potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The salmon was seasoned too lightly to be blackened. It was cooked well done but lacked taste. The potatoes and vegetables were alright. My friend ordered the King Crab Leg Steamer Pot with mussels, corn, and since she doesn’t like clams, they allowed her to substitute it for shrimp. She enjoyed her meal and was very satisfied. We also ordered the free sesame shrimp appetizer from checking in. I’m not too big on shrimp but I tasted one and it wasn’t too bad. The service was ok. She was very nice and the meals came out fast and hot but it took her a while to bring other items we asked for… lemons, napkins, etc… You also cannot see the performances from the back dining area but you sure can hear them. Overall, I wasn’t too happy with my meal. The best things were the wine, ambiance, and band.

I went to eat here three times — dinner on Thursday, lunch on Friday and dinner on Friday. Get a reservation for the weekends. It was only me and there was a 40 minute wait on Friday night which is expected. At all three instances, my waitress/waiter were all professional and polite. It was my first time there Thursday and I got great recommendations on what to order. I was a big fan of the oysters and their lobster bake selections were wonderful as well. In all 3 times I had left with a smile on my face and a full belly. There was also an appetizer that sounded like cheese fries but man they add something to it which makes it sooo good. I had that for lunch the next day and I ordered it again that evening. Man that was good.
