I went in for a specific tube of watercolor paint. Of course, the watercolors are the only paints that are locked up(because each tube is about the size of my index finger, easy to steal). Slightly inconvenient, but justifiable. I pushed the call bell under the display, and nothing happened. Apparently it’s broken. Spent about 10 minutes wandering around looking for someone to unlock it for us, finally gave up, since the only employees we saw were the gal stuck at the register with a line of waiting customers and the other gal back in the far corner of a back room doing framing or matting or something, and oblivious to my waves. I refuse to shout for attention in a store. That’s where I draw the line. Ran into an incognito employee on the way out — she was wearing all black, no identifying marks like a Michael’s logo or a name badge on her, but she greeted us, which would have been weird for a fellow customer, so we asked if she worked there, and she did. She summoned someone to unlock the paint display, and I finally got my single tube of cerulean blue, but wow, what a hassle.
