Philly’s Best

This guy in the counter is in twilight zone, I thought he got all my orders and ended up not getting 50% of my order. He sound defensive when being asked. Coming out rude in the process.

I didn’t catch the gentleman with the beards name or the cook but very polite as I walked in. Then even acknowledge my 6 year old daughter which I found very professional. The cook cleaned his area every time he made a new sandwich that definitely wins me over. New to the area, so I’m definitely coming back.

Tried Phill’s yesterday & was really happy that I did. Had the beef cheesesteak & chicken cheesesteak, both had lots of meat & cheese. Loved them. Will be going back soon.

Place was great service was great and food was outstanding definitely recommend the fries. I loved how it made me feel like I was in a baseball game with the creativity of the chairs

OK really I paid $ 13.81for a cheesesteak drink and fries no they didn’t say combo charge for each one separately … really the food wasn’t even that good but I guess… service was good they are really nice … but I think I paid too much for what I got

Bought a groupon which was a great deal, my husband and I love Philly cheesesteak sandwiches so we were really looking forward to checking this place out. We were turned off when we walked in the door and the floor was filthy! Filthy as hell. We ordered, the service was cool. We went outside to wait for our sandwiches to be ready and it was trash on the ground under the tables outside too.
The sandwiches weren’t good at all, actually mine was kinda nasty, and the restaurant was dirty looking. We won’t be going back to say the least and I recommend you pass as well.

No matter what chain I go to its consistent and friendly. The steak sandwiches are amazing. The bread is always soft and flavor is on point.

I crave this like once every 5 years because it seems so bad for me. Cheese, meat, mushrooms, sweet peppers, bread. That’s all a Philly’s Best cheesesteak is but it’s good in a bad way. They have regular burgers, salads, and hoagies but why get anything else except the menu item named after the name of the franchise.
It’s great the first bite, then the next few bites are good, then you start regretting your life choices about midway through.
I’m not even a food snob. I eat pizza and fries once in a while. But at least pizzas have tomato sauce and fries are essentially a vegetable.
Plus the price doesn’t seem to be worth it. A philly’s best sandwich alone is about $ 10. You know what else is $ 10? Unlimited kbbq or buffet lunches or a meal with a drink, side, and dessert at a cheaper place.
Phoning in an order to pick up was no problem though.

Philly’s Best is a chain. A really good chain. I chain that I liked so much that I was thinking of owning a franchise.
Anyhow, get the philly’s best with a side of pizza sauce. Skip everything else.
What makes it special? The bread and just how the meat is a perfect fit with the bread.

I opened my Philly’s steak mushroom and cheese and was taken back by the smell of fart/​diarrhea. I thought it was just me so I bit into it and it was worse. I usually order extra mushrooms everywhere. but these must have gone bad. I told them and they didn’t do anything about it.
It’s been hours later and the horrid smell is still fresh in my memory!

5 stars for the food. It’s delicious.
1 star for employees. The customer service there is hit or miss. One day they’re super chill, another day they’re rude, short and seem miserable that you’re there and as if you’re bothering them. More often the second route than first.

Seemed like a cool place but don’t just don’t go there… Food was ok but the service from the employees was horrible. They were rude and ignored the customers. The employees there were being visited by their friends and that seemed to be their priority. I know all their gossip now which was being said loudly at the business. I ate fast so I could get out of their so I wouldn’t have to tolerate hearing the employees keep saying, «whaaaaat, ahhh hells naw, fck that dawg, bitches dawg… And so on so on… My experience was not good at all but hey maybe it was just the day I went.

Delicious! Best cheesesteaks I’ve had. Pickle bar is awesome!

I love this place I really do I’ve had phillies at other places but this one always takes the cake for me. Their chicken and cheese is amazing as well. Don’t even get me started on their onion rings fuckin yum! If your ever near a phillies best and are craving a sub drop in for a bit you won’t be disappointed!

I just had to rave about how the workers remember my fiancé and I and our usual order. Definitely worth a tip and definitely a gesture to keep us coming. Also, they always give customers coupons with their order. I suggest they should create those punch-​cards, like buy five Subs and get the sixth one free. Nonetheless, always well seasoned, personal favorite remains the chicken buffalo, haven’t really found another flavor I enjoy the same way.

Well, I haven’t actually eaten here so I can’t comment on the food. What I can comment on is the service, or lack thereof.
I was finally getting home from a long commute and figured I’d try this place, since it’s close to my new apartment and I had signed up for their email club and received a coupon for free fries with the purchase of a sandwich. I walk in and the guy working there eventually comes over to take my order. After I ordered my sandwich, he asked if I wanted any sides or drinks. I showed the email printout and asked for the fries. He looked blankly, took the email, and stared at it for awhile. Finally, he said that it was only valid in Irvine. Now, I’m almost positive that I had noted that the Downey location was my home location, and it seemed extremely unlikely to me that I would have received a coupon only valid in Irvine. I said as much, but he didn’t seem to care. The coupon even says «*Over 20 locations to serve you*» I noticed that, after the coupon, the bottom of the email said «© Philly Foods, Inc. 13 805 Alton Parkway Suite A Irvine, CA 92 618» Now, to you or me it would be pretty clear that this address is the location of the corporate headquarters, not the only location at which the coupon is valid. Apparently not so to the gentleman manning this site.
So yeah, minimal stars for him for either being too lazy to enter the coupon or too ignorant to know where his corporate HQ is and that his location does accept this coupon. Also nuts to whoever trained him for allowing him to think it is acceptable to «prove» the customer incorrect when, in fact, he was the one to blame.

I got my food to go service was prompt I liked that. First time eating here after my brother kept ranting about it because I just moved across the street to one lol. Got a chess steak sandwich got home and wow I couldn’t get enough, now I see why my brother was talking about. Although I got it to go the guy in front was very friendly. The environment was dope and they serve beer I will be dining in next time.

Buffalo chicken my absolute favorite my fiancé loves it too… Very juicy and flavorful, very fresh… The place is not well clean at times but the food is delicious…

I am giving a five star review as George kept the doors open while others shut down exactly at 9 pm and once George said «come on in» the line formed of hungry customers. George even offered chips and soda with a smile!
Great customer service and kudos to the cook!

The locations I’ve visited in Santa Ana and now this one have yet to disappoint me. The sandwiches are delicious — whether you get chicken or beef. I also usually order cheese fries or cheese steak fries. Trust me… it’s freakin delicious.
