Amazing little hidden gem! Super nice owner and staff! The asada is legit! They also have labio which is pretty rare and tasty(try it, be adventurous) the Giant wet burrito thing my friend had was ridiculous and delicious! The salsa with the chips is served piping hot which is different but tasty. Will definitely return soon when I crave some authentic Mexican food!

The people who work her were extremely friendly. I had the wet burrito half red half green. Carne asada, libio, and seuredo were cooked well.

My dad mentioned he wanted to try this place so we popped in and at first were a bit deterred by the loud music and the lackluster appearance of the place but once the food came we knew we had made the right choice. We had tacos, sopes and tortas. We tried everything with different meats in my opinion the best meat was the carnitas. Definitely give this place a chance you won’t be disappointed.

At first I wasn’t sure what to think about this place. I came here with my partner and I had order enchiladas verdes(chicken) to me they taste good. My partner order taco’s al pastor and the meet tasted like borrego. So I wasn’t sure what to say… We gave it a try another day and we both liked what we order the Chilaquiles verdes there spicy to my taste that’s good. One thing I didn’t like is one of the waitress there was rude when asked about how much the refill was. She looked like she didn’t want to be there. I’m giving it a 3 star for now, will see how it goes…

Really good size tacos and tortillas made by hand can’t beat that combo but really nice hole in the wall. Enjoy bringing the kids into this place for great tacos and close by. If ever in the area gotta try this place

Great cheap Mexican food. If you don’t speak Spanish there’s a 50% chance they’re going to get your order wrong. Repeated my order multiple times and they still got it wrong. Wasted my entire lunch time waiting for my order that was the complete opposite of what I wanted.

Their food is great, authentic Mexican :) Here are the challenges: their wait time is usually long even when there are only 2 people in the restaurant so expect to wait. They are not flexible on their menu at all so you can’t walk in here with their complicated order. I asked for water and they were out… really you are out of water? I proceeded to get my card out to pay for a bottle of water but they only accept cash for transactions of $ 5 or more. So I ended up with no water and I was soooo thirstyyy. Due to their low level of customer service and inflexibility with customers I give them 2 stars. I will not come back. There are plenty of authentic Mexican food placed around here that DO serve water to paying customers.

Worthy of a visit if you’re in the hood! If you want something off menu, be prepared to speak Spanish or ask for someone who speaks English:).(I don’t eat wheat or chips, try ordering off menu lol) This is an authentic mom and pop Mexican food joint in Downey, it’s worthy of your taste buds! The menu is simple, this makes it easier, the prices are right on!!!(Thank you Mom & Pop)! Try it! The locals eat here

Best place for authentic Mexican food in Downey. I tried the chilaquiles plate. It had Angus Stake and Eggs plus rice and smashed beans to perfection. Next time I will try their Chiles Rellenos. Coming back next week.

Little hole in the wall restaurant, just sucks that the dining area is always dirty, they would of got five stars from me but the fact that the floors are always dirty and their a. c sucks since the kitchen and dining room are connected but they still get a solid five stars for amazing taste in food, every plate I’ve tried here has been really good, my fav so far is the carne asada Torta, also the carne asada zope is really good, a lot different than an ordinary zope.

Food is ok. Problem with location drive 5 mins and can experience better. If you want a burrito pretty good. However, bean & rice not good at all thus 3 stars. In the heart of Downey not my top 10 place

Good selection of meats. My only concern is why get suadero when there is carne asada for the same price? Good menu selection for the price

I’m a very picky person in regards to the meat quality and I loved the Asada tacos. Definitely coming back to enjoy more of their food. Homemade tortillas, great flautas, etc. Thumbs up !!!

Same situation today. Touching of uncooked meat then making my burrito. I told the cashier, with the cook listening, that I wasn’t going to get sick because they don’t know proper hygiene. If you don’t believe me stand to the side and watch for yourself. Two goons sitting behind me guffawed because of my complaint so I turned around and told them they can get sick if they want but I’m not going to. Beware if you value your health and the health of your family.

Everything is so fresh and made to order. Real authentic Mexican tacos, etc. Everything tastes good! The only drawback for me(which is minor) is that they don’t have carnitas. I heart carnitas – okay, I’m obsessed with carnitas, so everytime I come here I check the menu to see if carnitas has been added– no dice. But they do have al pastor for my pork fix. They have nicely priced specials. There is the«Crazy Special» where you can get two tacos, rice, beans and canned soda for $ 6. The tacos aren’t chintzy either. They come with nice meat portions and you can dress it yourself at the«fixings bar»(not sure what it’s really called). The refried beans are DELISH, packed with flavor and creamy. The rice is nice and moist, they way I like it. Another favorite dish is the huarache – yummers! If you plan on calling your order in, you’d better know some spanish, or like I did – have your spanish-speaking co-worker place your order.
