I come here frequently, it pains me to ding the place but ordered the new Oaxaca shrimp tacos, only 3 lil shrimp per taco hidden by the slice of avocado and the tortillas were COLD. Darn tortillas had rigor motis. I won’t be coming back any time soon

We had the Oaxacan shrimp enchiladas and the bacon/​shrimp burrito. Both were good, but the portion sizes were so small, it made the $ 19 price tag a bit hard to swallow. The sides of black beans and citrus rice were served in little cups, not much larger than a salsa cup! In fact, that’s what I thought they were. Even the sales person had to laugh at the ridiculousness of the size.
So yes, the food tastes good and is well seasoned, but don’t expect to get your money’s worth.

Came here the other night with my husband and 2 babies. It was my husbands choice, I wasn’t to thrilled about it but I thought let’s give it a try. I ordered the fish taco and my husband ordered 2 Asada tacos. I was very impressed with my food. It tasted very good. The employees were very friendly and it was clean. I am glad I gave it a try. I will be back.

Great food and their California Bowl is so awesome. Its huge and yummy.
Kids meal options are so fresh, am sure we are coming in for family meals for a long time.
Love the salsa and the other options available in the salsa bar. Truly cool place to hang out.

Came here for a veggie burrito before work. The food tasted better than expected. Came out fresh. You could see them putting the food together since their kitchen is open. Had some bell peppers, black beans, and spanish rice in it as well as a side of chips. The cost was $ 7.50.

This place sucks!!! I’ve been to 3 rubios and this one is just the worst! Service wise and quality! My tacos were cold when they were brought to me! Oh and all their sodas were flat and dirty tables…

This place isolated at the Downey Landing. So there are other places to eat if you are with a group and not everyone is feeling the same .
Today I came in and I found it to be waaaay Too cold inside the restaurant. Uncomfortable cold! It feels like 40 degrees in there. I been here before and it’s never been this uncomfortable. So bring a coat ! Or tell the manager.
Other than that the food is Delish. Have a beer with your meal. but Right now I am going outside to thaw out! There’s an outdoor eating patio. Light music and a nice water fountain to chill after.

I revisited this place tonite after a few months of absence & I just wanna say that the customer service still is awesome!
They don’t charge you few cents here & a few cents there for extra salsa or cilantro etc because hellooooo
It’s open bar for these !
Have always had friendly staff from my first visit on…
All kitchen staff wears gloves with food prep.
& mygudness always fast service …
Oh try their seasonal dish this time «lime citrus sea bass» bowl or tacos.

The best thing they have going for them are their fish tacos and salsa bar. Compared to local family owned Mexican joints in the surrounding area Rubio’s is a dollar or two more pricey.
Way back in the day, Taco Tuesdays at Rubio’s meant 99 cent tacos. Some time in the last 10 years they’ve increased the price and now it’s currently $ 1.50 and only after 2:30 PM on Tuesdays. That’s inflation for you. But the afternoon window is strict. It’s called «Taco Tuesday» not «Taco Tuesday Afternoon» for a reason.
Their shrimp burrito is okay. Quesadilla is good but how can anyone mess up a quesadilla. Fish tacos are good. They have a salsa bar which I appreciate anywhere and anytime.
Living close to this location, I’d have thought I’d be here more but the truth is that I hardly come here. It was good when I was younger but since then I’ve found places for better Baja and Mexican style food.

Yum! The chicken nachos are always bomb at Rubios! Service is good at this location and usually fairly quick obviously dependent on how many customers are waiting in line. So happy I live so close since these are my fave nachos! lol

I received the best service ever at this Rubio’s! Sergio was friendly, knowledgable, and very accommodating of my dietary needs. Love the wild-​caught mahi mahi burrito with veggies!

First time coming here and i was satisfied! I got a shrimp burrito that was really good and had enough shrimp
It came with chips and i liked the green salsa
Reminds me of chipotle or pollo loco but kind of better since you have the choice of seafood

Service is still quite good, but lately the fish tacos have been at least a little bit to quite a bit soggy, and the quality of the food in general seems to have gone down. A manager forgot to give me a drink with my combo two times in a row, and in the seating area outside, the tables weren’t cleaned off very well and I found ants and even a fly at my table and the tables around me.
The food is still pretty good, but it’s non consistently so right now, and I feel like this Rubio’s was better in terms of food quality and cleanliness in the past. I would’ve rated this spot 4 to 5 stars in the past, but I feel like it’s not as good lately. I will update this review if things improve. For the premium price I pay for Rubios food, I just expect better.
