So I keep hearing about this place and how amazing it is so I decided to go check it out today since it didn’t look too busy. We sit down and the server takes our drink order and then gives us a couple of minutes to decide what we want. About 10 minutes later she finally comes back and takes our order. My roommate orders and she tells him «I would stay away from the breakfast potatoes for some reason they’re not good today» so that completely changes both of our orders and we were disappointed with that and wondered why she would bash the food and not tell us that in the beginning before we ordered. When I order I get a side of bacon with the order and she asks me if I like the bacon a little crispy, I tell her yes and she leaves to put in our order. We get our food and the side of bacon looks absolutely disgusting. The bacon was harder than the table and looked like if it was cooked 10 seconds longer it would’ve been charred to death. So I tell the server that the bacon is disgusting and beyond crispy and she says «yeah sorry we have been sending back bacon all morning, it either comes back really undercooked or overcooked.» I ask her«what’s the deal with your cooks? The bacon isn’t cooked right and the potatoes are gross, it sounds like you need new cooks.» She brings me new bacon and the bacon is still not very good so I didn’t eat much of it. Overall it was a pretty disappointing and awful experience for my first time at this place. I may not ever go back.

Very good service and food. They did the gluten free very well also. The inside of the resturant was nice and clean

I don’t think a lot needs to be said here. Everyone knows this place is the best. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu ! We have been coming here for years. The staff here have watched my kids grow up and they know us all by name. Even though they keep adding new locations, each place Still has that family owned feel. Try the corned beef grill sandwich or of course the hot cakes ! Can’t go wrong with whatever you chose !

Perhaps this place is better when it’s not slammed. Personally, I find the 4 ½-star rating a bit inflated. I’ve only been here two times, once for lunch and once for breakfast, and I held off writing this review until I tried their breakfast because that seems to be their specialty. But now that I’ve tried it, I’m ready to share my thoughts. First off, I was disappointed with lunch. I had the Reuben, and while the meat was decent-enough, the bread was so over-buttered and greasy that I could have wrung it out and probably should have. The fries were piping hot but didn’t seem fresh. They tasted as if they re-fried a batch of fries that had been sitting there for a while. I didn’t like them. For breakfast I went with the«Utah» omelet, meaning, I could choose any five ingredients to put in it. I went with bacon, avocado, tomatoes, onions and cheese. Everything seemed fresh enough and good with the exception of the bacon. It was super fatty and wasn’t cooked enough. I wouldn’t order that ingredient again, but the omelet on the whole was nice. The fried potatoes served with the omelet were very good. As for my kids, two went with the French toast and both devoured their meals quickly — a very good sign. On the other hand, my third child had the pancakes and quit eating after a few bites. And she’s the eater of the three. I was a bit surprised because of their«Home of the Heavenly Pancake» moniker, so I tried them myself and I quickly understood why. They were cold, dry and blah. Another gripe: the bacon I ordered on the side for the kids was wilding inconsistent; some were cooked perfectly, some were brittle, some were fatty and not cooked enough. The inconsistency was bothersome. I really liked their chocolate milk, but unfortunately it was lukewarm by the time our food arrived. And therein lies the potential cause of the issues that I have just mentioned. The place was absolutely packed and service was slow. And apparently, the kitchen wasn’t up to the task. I’ll certainly give this place another shot as I live relatively close and others seem to think it’s great, but perhaps I’ll shoot for a weekday when it’s not so crazy.

The pancakes are heavenly. The fried scone is out of this world. And the atmosphere and staff are phenomenal.

I want to love Penny Anne’s so much but I just can’t. With my meal I aways get a side of bacon but somehow no matter who my server is they ALWAYS forget it. To add to that, this most recent trip, after having to ask for my bacon they then later brought out raw bacon. I asked them to cook it a little longer and so they just stuck it in the microwave and destroyed it. All I wanted was cooked bacon. Our server was nice but not attentive. I had to ask her for refills and ask her to stop by our table for everything I needed. Additionally, one of the male servers was kind of rude to me when he brought out our food but only brought out half the table’s food. He seemed annoyed when I had to ask for silverware. Overall not impressed and won’t be coming back. Update: The owner of Penny Anne’s contacted me shortly after I wrote this review apologizing for the issues that I had and offered to mail me a gift card to cover my next visit if I’d be willing to give them another chance. The gift card just arrived in the mail today. This definitely means a lot that the owner is willing to do this!

Worth the wait!!! Always pretty busy and their coffee is fantastic. They have the best«hot cakes» /pancakes, supper fluffy and delicious! 4 stars because the rest of the food I’ve tried isn’t great.

Such high hopes, with such a lack luster experience. I tried the BAM Waffle it sounded so amazing with pure maple syrup infused bacon in a Belgium waffle. It came out with no «showmanship» just a blob of butter. It was very disappointing. My husband tried the Utah Omelette filled with his favorite mixing including the smallest slice of avocado I’ve seen, and we got the stem included. The egg was paper thin and the whole thing was overwhelmed with jalapeños. Hey! But at least the pancakes were good, they taste like buttermilk donuts, hence the 2 stars.

I have a hard time giving this place 5 stars because then everyone will see what a great place this is and we’ll end up waiting twice as long to get in. Oh well, forget it, I’ll wait even longer because this place has it down. The pancakes really are«Heavenly,» the meatball sandwich with onion rings is awesome and the omelets, eggs benedict are great! They only thing I wouldn’t get again would be the club sandwich — it’s just too big and too dry to muster in one sitting. Keep up the great work, my wife, co-workers, etc. will be back for some good eats.

Love this place! Real turkey sandwich… Big fluffy pancakes. Friendly and clean. Can’t wIt to go back. Only complaint is lots of kids, Bratty, loud, kids. people, teach your kids manners, and inside voices. Not restaurants fault. It is Draper, UT.

Wow! I’m incredibly impressed with this place. If you want delicious breakfast food this is the place to go. I came here with some work associates and got the chicken cordon bleu skillet. Others at my table ordered chili verde skillets and the pot o gold and every option looked and tasted fantastically. Again if you want fresh food and a LOT of it, check this place out!

Everything you’ve heard about their pancakes are true! I’ve tried them and they are absolutely heavenly! It’s almost unbelievable how good they are, so I tried them again. And then again. And yup, I can confirm they really are that good. They are like puffy clouds of sweet buttery cake that just melts in your mouth. Pancakes are the reason I keep coming back, but don’t be shy of the rest of their menu. Their pot of gold breakfast bowl is wildly popular, so that’s what I would recommend if it’s your first time. It’s not drool worthy like their pancakes, but it’s a good hearty breakfast. Oh, and I mean it when I say hearty. Their portions are huge! I also have to praise their coffee. I normally don’t order coffee since I can just brew some at home, but they serve some quality coffee here at PAC. It just rounds out my meal so well I can’t resist!

I honestly can’t say enough about the pancakes. I eat pancakes pretty much at every breakfast place I go to and these are far superior to most. The thing that really keeps me coming back to this place however is the service. It is exceptional. Friendly staff, knowledgeable and always willing to go above and beyond to make sure you have a great meal. I have brought business folks here for a meal and people are always impressed.

Food is pretty consistent. Servers are always friendly and quick. There is a wait but there’s a reason. Popular place with consistency. If I’m close and want breakfast then it’s at the top of my list in this neighborhood.

First time visitor but I’ll be back. Hubs and I went there for brunch yesterday for the first time. It was crowded, we had to wait about 20 minutes but it was worth it. I had the PAC Benedict with great eggs, tomato, ham and bacon on top of a croissant with a subtle hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were perfect. There is nothing worse then greasy breakfast potatoes so these were just right. Hubby had the Pot of Gold and asked to substitute pork chili verde instead of sausage gravy which they were happy to do. Good service, nice friendly staff. A+++ in my book

Penny Ann’s is a great place for breakfast. The restaurant is clean and bright, service was exceptional, the menu has a good variety, the food is very good and prices reasonable. I Unilocaled before going and based on the reviews and associated pictures I had a half a dozen different items in mind for my breakfast. I opted for the Chile Verde skillet with over easy eggs and a «heavenly» pancake. The eggs were cooked as ordered the Verde was plentiful and very tasty without being spicy and the pancake was as advertised, heavenly. The wife upgraded her toast to a scone, it was a big, hot yummy upgrade for sure. Both the wife and I thought the potatoes were over cooked, they looked fantastic but the extra browning added an overpowering flavor. That being the case I limited my consumption of the potatoes in favor of the pancake which worked out well because I would never have been able to eat it all. Service was great, my coffee cup was never empty and we were never left wanting for anything. Next time I think I will have to get something with the cream gravy, maybe the Pot of Gold??? We will definitely be back.

PAC is a pleasant surprise. I was thinking this is going to be one of those overrated café/breakfast place, BUTPAC proved me wrong! Their specialty pancakes are really heavenly awesome! We came in for breakfast and it was jam packed considering it’s Sunday. My wife and I got in since we were willing to sit by the bar. It’s easy access though for our server to supply us with our drinks. Their stuffed French toasts are to die for as well. Go ahead and check them out, you’ll never be disappointed!

Penny annes Draper location has been a welcome addition to the restaurant line up in this part of the valley. I had been to the downtown location before, now I was eager to try the Draper fare. The service was efficient and quick our servers name was Heather. I was ready for a simple sandwich but now it was time to Open wide for Penny Anne’s California Ciabatta. A hearty sandwich made of fresh turkey bacon avocado lettuce and tomato on whole wheat ciabatta roll. At $ 7.49, this was a five star sandwich and a five star value. My wife wanted to try breakfast for lunch, so she ordered an omelette which came with their famous«heavenly hot cakes». The omelette was well put together with fresh ingredients accompanied by home-fry potatoes. When it came to the pancakes they were extra rich, probably because of the sour cream they use in the mix. The hotcakes were served with butter and syrup, the classic combination worked well. I tried one of her pancakes with maple syrup and she had her pancake with the boysenberry syrup. Delicious! In my opinion, the portions are big enough to split. Next time I go back, we’ll split a sandwich and indulge on their famous desserts. Actually, I’m thinking about the chocolate mousse pie right now. See you in Draper. Salute!

Wow. That was what I thought when I took the first bite of the Heavenly Hot Cakes. Gosh I finally understood what Belinda Carlisle meant when she said heaven is a place on earth. I just did not know it was in Draper. The hot cake is airy and fluffy, and served warm with salted butter on top and maple syrup by a container. The result? A perfect pancake that makes a perfect start of your day. Highly recommended. As if I was not impressed enough, I tried their Pecan and Caramel Stuffed French Toast. Just bread with egg coating can be bland, brown sugar and cinnamon sprinkle is interesting, but it turns out caramel pecan is the answer to my prayers for a perfect French toast! Seriously. The pecan gives a nice crunchy texture and the caramel just binds everything together. Just perfect. The Eggplant Omelette is good too. I didn’t know eggplant and omelette go well together but apparently they do. In a big red-carpet opening night kind of way. It makes an interesting chewy layer together with melted cheese that takes this omelette to a whole new level of awesomeness. Delicious! Just a note though, this place is always crowded with long waiting lines. I was there at 930 Sunday morning and there were already people waiting. They give you a buzzer to let you know your table is ready. I came in a party of two, and we got our table after waiting for like 30 seconds. I guess most of other patrons come with a larger number of guests. If you are one of them, I heard the typical waiting time is about 15 to 20 minutes and I can tell you, it’s totally worth the wait. There are a lot of family with kids too, so prepare to hear some screaming. Definitely not a place for a classy brunch date. I will be back for sure.

The Penny Ann in Draper took over an old rundown BBQ joint location, and they had much success with their first location on Main Street in Salt Lake. Folks that live down at the south end of the valley finally have a decent breakfast joint that is not IHOP or Village Inn. After visiting Penny Ann in Draper a few times, I probably had good experience 3 out of 4 times. Their hot cake is almost a guarantee side item, and they had been amazing except for this one time where the batters were still drippy on the side when it came out and our waitress was rather annoyed about sending it back in. I like their Pot of Gold when I am in the mood of having every throw in then topped with gravy, excellent way to describe a tough morning. The gravy here was very delicious too. Smothered Burrito was great too with everything rolled inside a wrap, although I was not much a fan of the sour cream. For the classy time, the PAC Benedict was not a bad choice either, the hollandaise sauce was just ok though, and the eggs were perfectly poached. The Corned Beef Omelet seems to be a popular choice among the diners, but I guess I am not much of a fan for corner beef, so it was just an ok dish for me. Service had been great most of the time, except when that one time we had a super rude waitress that I am glad she no longer works there now. Part of growing pain I suppose. At the end of the day, I am just glad they decided to open shop in Draper, the breakfast scene would have been quite barren without them down south.
