Definitely weird and way overpriced. Like a throwback to the ’60’s ersatz ‘continental’ restaurant. Décor is hideous & wait staff creepy. Why would one drive out of their way when Centex has so many wonderful offerings?

We had my brothers rehearsal dinner here on Sunday night(1÷17÷16). I was truly impressed. I do not usually write reviews, but really felt the need to let people know about this place. Upon arrival they had a private room set up for us(around 20 people). The food was excellent, the presentation of the food was beautiful, and the service was top notch! We had some dietary restrictions in our group(vegetarian, gluten free, lactose free) and there was no problem catering to those needs. If you are having a wedding at one of the beautiful venues in the area, I highly recommend having your rehearsal dinner here. Thank you for making this whole event memorable for our family!

This is my third time in this cute little restaurant in Dripping Springs and it never disappoints. Last night I tried the delicious butternut squash soup. It was beautifully decorated with crème fraîche and was tasty, though it could have come to the table a little warmer(I like my soups really hot). Second course was a flash cooked wasabi tuna which was extremely tender and flavorful. The fish itself was encrusted with sesame seeds and wasn’t strong at all, while the mashed potatoes underneath definitely had a kick, but I love wasabi and that sensation that goes up your nose! As usual the bread was well done and I couldn’t have dessert because I was already full!

I really wanted to love this place but it was very over-rated. The complimentary bread was good but the butter was hard and you couldn’t spread it. The dumplings were very good, as was the risotto. Thank god for the risotto or I would have given this only 2 stars. The champagne chicken was very bland, sauce was almost too sweet. Service was attentive but they all talked the same and seemed like they were all taught the«fake» waiter voice, cheesy and not authentic, though very nice. Just wasn’t a place I would probably visit again, for the price.

Had lunch Saturday afternoon with my wife and son. I ordered the Green Chile Cheeseburger. It comes with an 8oz patty. While it wasn’t bad it wasn’t good either. Just sort of blah. Just realized what was missing — flavor! I’m not sure what kind of atmosphere they’re trying to create for a soup & sandwich place with their white tablecloths and dark lighting. Probably what passes for fine dining in Dripping Springs. Bad music piped through the place while eating. Our son said it had a «weird vibe» and I agree. If I want fine dining I’ll go to Hudson’s on the Bend not Creek Road Café. If I’m starving in DS and want a sandwich I’ll go next door to Thyme & Dough. If I’m starving in DS and want a burger I’ll go to Whataburger. My first and only visit to Creek Road. Your mileage may vary and if it does I hope it’s for the good.

Great food offerings albeit a bit of a higher price point. Many cooked to order items may lead to a slightly longer wait time. The staff was young but very attentive and informed. Would love to see a little bit of an update to the interior to really get that upscale feel.

‘Casual fine dining in Dripping Springs’ This seems like an oxymoron. Dripping Springs doesn’t do fine dining. DS does cool beer joints, pizza places and chicken stands, but not fine dining, right? Not anymore. DS has upscaled several really good dining options and Creek Road hits the casual fine dining mark dead on. We dined there recently with friends and they made fans of us all. It’s a cozy place, with several rooms for diners, plus a bigger room for parties. It has an old established feel even though I believe it’s fairly new. We started off with the Barton Creek Brie and it was deelish! Definitely recommended. Then we moved on to the entrees. I had the Fitzhugh Scallops and they were perfectly prepared. I’d get them again in a minute. Others had the Trautwein Shrimp, the Pedernales Pork chop and the Harrison Park Salmon. We all shared bites and we all yummed at every mouthful. The bar is beer and wine I believe, but they had a good selection of local beers. Not so much for local wines though, which is why the 5th star isn’t added. I can see them rectifying this easily. The service was good throughout. There was a very large party in the event room and it probably stretched the staff a bit thin but not so much as to annoy. The servers were all knowledgeable and very friendly, with good advice. For dessert we split a key lime pie and a polo club pie, and both were great but the key lime was the winner. Prices were very reasonable, as Margie would say,(Oh c’mon, you’ve seen Fargo enough to get that) for fine dining. Portions were generous and the ambience was good for intimate conversation. Now that we know how good Creek Road is, we’ll definitely be back.

Came here with a party of 8 on a Friday evening for a birthday celebration. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu! For appetizers, we had the goat cheese, brie, and watermelon salad. Goat cheese was my favorite but they were all delicious and beautifully plated. I ordered one of their daily specials: fried scallops with sausage rigatoni. I’m not used to seeing scallops bigger than my fingertip in these parts, so I was delighted to see 4 large fried scallops sitting on a bed of creamy rigatoni. It was DELICIOUS! Others in my party ordered lamb, Lady Bird Johnson chicken, steak, and pork chop. They all had great things to say about their meals. As we were finishing the main dishes, the chef came out to check on our meals. Really awesome guy. It was a birthday celebration for 3 in our party, so of course there was dessert! We had the crème brûlée, coconut pie, chocolate cake, and carrot cake. My favorite was the coconut pie and chocolate cake. They were all delicious but not overly sweet.

A happy accident! Headed to a wedding and realized there would be no dinner. Stumbled upon this amazing restaurant in Unilocal.Could not be more delighted. Our meal was exceptional. We started with the fried Brie, which could have cooked a bit longer. The flavor was fine, but could have been melter. The Caesar salad that followed was outstanding. Crispy lettuce, nice amount of cheese, perfect cherry tomatoes. All good. The highlight was definitely the lobster and shrimp fettuccine with a spicy jalapeño sauce. Truly amazing!!! Top it all off with a great wine recommendation and over the top service and it was the perfect pre-wedding detour.

Sunday dinner with my lovely wife. The Creek Road Café is our favorite place to eat in all of Central Texas. The food is superb, well presented, fresh, and delicious. Last night me the goat cheese app. my wife the brie. Both were plentiful and perfectly done. Entrees were the Chicken Pasta and the LB Chicken. Both were perfectly executed, and again the presentation was excellent. Service is team style and spot on. Always recommend, and always return. This isnt just the best place to eat in this part of Texas, but maybe within 50 miles. I will put their food, service, ambiance, and prices to any place in Austin, any day.

My husband got the South by southwest sandwich and I got the Blue hole fish sandwich. The blue hole was okay. Just another fish sandwich. I had a bite of the south by southwest and I really liked the spicy sauce. I would go back for that sandwich!

Great dinner in a small town! The bnb we were staying at recommended this place so we made reservations. They asked if it was a special occasion, which is always nice. Were seated in the front room, the table had iced water and flowers upon our arrival, which we really appreciated with the summer heat. Had a few waiters working our table, so service was very good. The food: all very good! Shared the salad from the day’s specials; watermelon, feta, herbs. Very refreshing. I had the grilled chicken pasta, which was full of vegetables and very spicy. It kind of reminded me of a pad Thai taste, I enjoyed it. My hubby ordered the filet and said it was one of the best steaks he’d had. I tasted it and the meat was super tender and came with delicious mashed potatoes. They also brought us a complimentary dessert. Overall, was impressed with the quality of food and service. Highly recommend!
