Did you ever watch the movie Vacancy? That is what last night felt like. I was on the first half of a trip to NYC to see family that I have not seen for 2 years. After about 4 hours on the road, my dad was talking about how he is going to get a new car, discussing prices and other things. Then, a weird noise comes from the engine. His goddamn car breaks down on I80. It was almost perfect because a quarter mile down the road was this hotel. The lady at the desk was kind of shocking. Her eyes darted around, both in different directions. She asked if we had children or pets because«They were not welcome». She further explained, she meant the pets. We get to the room, blood red carpets. Like The Shining. There was a space heater in the corner. We opted not to use it. There was a mini fridge and microwave also. I was pissed about the car incident and that I took off from work the following day. I wanted to have a few drunks and mix it up with the locals. Possibly bring a girl from Drums, PA back to the hotel. I would have told the old man to sleep in the broken Buick. No such luck as all the bars were allegedly 4 miles down the road. We made it through the night. No bed bugs to bite. I don’t think there is enough visitor traffic and human blood for the little critters to live on. Free WiFi!
