Came here with my husband for their lunch buffet. It was very good. I still haven’t been there for dinner, and hope to in the future.

Just had the Mother’s Day brunch this past weekend. The food was absolutely amazing! I’ve never had better chicken Marsala in all my life. Other highlights were the incredible Caesar salad, the pesto pasta, and the sausage with peppers and onions. Although the service wasn’t great, it wasn’t terrible either(just took forever to get the check…). We will definitely be making this a regular Mother’s Day tradition.

I went on Valentine’s day. I loved it but I think they could have prepared the public more for their wedding reception style seating. I sat with strangers with my husband on Valentine’s Day. I had on a very low cut lace shirt and sat with a very religious family that brought their children. I was on a date with my husband not there to mingle. The food was ok. I want to go back and have the restaurant food. What we had seemed like wedding catering. Basic bland food. The actual restaurant is beautiful. The parking is great. I would go back.

Waitstaff acts put out. Meatballs and sausage taste machine-made. They are dense, bland, and packed with filler(bread or soy protein filler). Disappointing. Chicken was as dry as the Sahara. Actually hard to swallow! Avoid this place and go to Morettis just a few miles south on Sawmill.

My Mom and I ate dinner there last night. She had the lasagna, and I had what they referred to as The Symphony, which included spaghetti, home made sausage, and lasagna. We split a salad, which is offered a la carte. The wait staff was attentive and everything they should be at a nice restaurant. The food, though uninspired, was adequate. Frankly, the food is better at Olive Garden for less. The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce… yawn. The sauces on the pastas were okay, but perhaps a bit bland. The portions were large, more than we could finish. We got to-go boxes, so the food was good enough to not throw away… just a little bland and unispired, and not what one would expect for the upper end of moderate prices charged. Oh, and the piano player was a nice touch, but a couple of the keys were a little out of tune… my teeth were briefly set on edge a couple of time. Tune the damn piano!!!

Don’t you know I went to my first La Scala experience with friends having given the restaurant a reputation for being«old pre-modernized Dublin» and the home of the octogenarian council on dinner & dancing. In some respects the rep is correct. I was to meet several friends there on a Friday night to listen to a live band and have drinks. The friends range in age from mid 30s to +70 years of age. So we’re talking about a lot of coverage age wise. I arrived ahead of most and saddled up to the bar in the main lounge/restaurant area. La Scala seems to be bracketed in a way that puts those with reservations in all kinds of nooks and crannies. There is a main area for dining that is level with the dance floor and band. Other areas are off to the side, behind walls, tucked in to far away corners, mid-level rooms and such. Actually, it’s cobbled together nicely if you are a patron and know to ask for seating off from the band. Otherwise you’ll get lots of sound and be seeing lots of dancing. Four of us dined on personal pizzas. Both were very good(pep and sausage; white pizza with artichoke and chicken). Drinks were good pours so no complaints in the beverage arena. Our table was behind a wall; we could see a portion of the dance floor but didn’t have loud loud music so that was good. I mentioned getting there ahead of everyone else. I noticed immediately over 75% of those enjoying La Scala on a Friday night were 50s and up. And I gathered as the evening wore on these folks(myself included) were there for food but also to dance. The dance floor was never empty and patrons were having a great time. I’ve got to say that folks who know the 50s, 60s and 70s are lively and love dancing, fast and slow. La Scala doesn’t seem to be set up for anyone in their 20s — 40s to have a dinner-only experience. The server we had was too non-chalant with attention and was noticed twice talking with tables and not producing«another round» or «checks please». Too much down time between check-ins. The cost for a pizza and four adult liquor drinks came to $ 50. That seemed higher than expected. I cannot in all honesty recommend La Scala to a younger crowd. But on any given Friday if you want to shake a leg on the dance floor to live music and have decent food and drinks… La Scala will be a nice treat.

We were very disappointed. Took forever for our server to even approach our table. Then to bring each dish we had to ask the boy going around taking care of water to get her as she disappeared for excessive periods of time. The bruschetta came with black burnt edges and our meals themselves were underwhelming. My wife got the symphony which is three dishes in one like a sampler. They were smothered in the same sauce to the point that the taste was just bland. The meatball was just soggy. The plates just did not seem fully cooked. The only time our server was quick was when it came time for the check. Even as she asked how things were she was not even looking at us– like we were unworthy of her time and attention. One and done. Will never return. I suggest you don’t give it the time of day. Save yourself a few bucks and your taste buds and just hit an Olive Garden.

La Scala I believe this word translated in Italian means almost edible. Service terrible, food gross, drinks gross. Won’t go back 45 $ frozen lobster… puke.

Beautiful setting! Decent food. We tried La Scala for the first time and were a little underwhelmed. The food was by no means bad, it was just that for the price we expected a little more? My boyfriend got the Symphony which was filling but wasn’t at a much higher level than Olive Garden’s Tour of Italy. The Italian sausage, on the other hand, was incredible. I had the Pasta Vesuvio and was pleased with the flavor of the cajun cream sauce. Definitely had plenty to take home.

Having made several trips to the lunch buffet-which I love. I went for dinner for the first time-wanting to switch it up I ordered the Strip steak and was blown away by how good it was with the garlic mashed potatoes. Along with the salad(which Is my favorite in town) this was a great dinner.

Totally booked but they found a spot for us in the lounge which worked out great because we got to enjoy the piano player while we ate. Food came quickly and was wonderful. A great find! Thank you Rib for the great serve too!

Terrible. The food was just terrible. It’s even worse that they ask so much money for it. Luckily they can get a salad right. Everything else was devoid of flavor. I ordered Italian wedding soup and canned Progresso tastes better for half the price(They wanted $ 5.) There was almost nothing to taste! It tasted exactly like egg drop soup that you can get from an Asian restaurant. No flavor. The pieces of chicken they put in(why not meatballs?) were of very low quality, it made me imagine what eating cat food was like. The rest of the meal failed to impress. All of the pasta focused pieces(angel hair, lasagna, etc.) were okay but not worth the money. They do not know how to cook meat, the sausage and meatball I had was flavorless. The meatball was too soft, like munching on baby food. What a colossal disappointment for such a fancy and expensive restaurant

The roommate and I came here for the lunch buffet, which is only served Tuesday through Friday 11 – 2 [not 100% sure on hours]. The content of the buffet changes daily, but always includes soup, salad and a variety of pasta. Sounds amazing for $ 10.50 a person! I suppose we may have come on an off day, as the food left something to be desired. Rotini with marinara, rigatoni with cajun chicken, plain pasta with your choice of marinara, alfredo, or rosa [which tasted like a bad cheese sauce], garlic mashed potatoes, meatballs, blackened chicken = a few options at the buffet. Roommate said the salad bar was redeeming… there were three lettuce salads, one tomato salad, tuna salad, and a pasta salad. I enjoyed the garlic mashed potatoes. Our waitress came one time to fill our water glasses and drop off the check. She was otherwise non existent. They also had a dessert table with something of a white cake, but we did not sample this. Great price, many options, but probably won’t be back.

To be fair, we went on a Friday night. The service was basically extremely slow(one glacier passed as we waited for our appetizers to arrive, another while we waited for our entrees to show up) it seemed like the server hated us. The food was really very good once it came, it’s just one of those restaurants where you might not want to be that hungry, maybe eat before you go because it’s going to be a while. You won’t like the band and dancing scene on a Friday night(that was EXTREMELYLOUD!) unless you are 80. If you are, you might love it, you’ll definitely hear it.

I enjoyed a Tiramisu martini, the wedge salad and the Chicken Marcella. This is a nice enough place but just not MY kind of place. I found our waiter to lack personality, confidence and the skill it takes to really make this a lucrative craft.

Great lunch today. Our son-in-law suggested we give it a try and were very glad we did. I enjoyed a bowl of to die for Wedding Soup and hubby did the buffet. I took a taste of his various dishes and we both agreed they were excellent. Our waitress was prompt and very friendly. She brought us a copy of the evening menu and mentioned the live music evenings. We’d like to return and give the full menu a try for an evening with friends. Right now I’m dreaming of more Wedding Soup!

My boyfriend got us a reservation for Valentine’s Day. We were seated moments after arriving(right next to the kitchen entrance, so we got a bit of the kitchen noise and all of the lovely kitchen smell, so I forgave the noise). He got a beer, I ordered a glass of wine(not the best Shiraz I’ve ever had, but not bad), and we munched happily on the fresh ciabatta and pesto dipping oil while we waited for the entrees. He ordered the La Scala Symphony(basically a sampler of lasagna, manicotti, spaghetti, and meatballs) and I ordered the eggplant parmesan. Now, I love eggplant parmesan, but it’s hit or miss in a lot of places. Either it’s chewy and flavorless, it’s got great texture but no flavor, or in the case of La Scala, fabulous flavor with less than ideal texture. Given the choice, I choose flavor over all. I enjoyed every bite. Even though we were both stuffed, we splurged and split a slice of the vanilla cheesecake with strawberries. It was a delightful end to the meal. The server was polite and efficient, she didn’t linger or come by too often, but she didn’t ignore us either. The atmosphere was pleasant, the décor was eye catching without being overwhelming or obnoxious, and we had, overall, a very nice Valentine’s Dinner. We will probably go again.

OK, I see a lot of 3 stars for La Scala I have lived in Columbus on and off for my entire life. I have been to La Scala since the early 80s, it was always a good place to come –nice décor pretty good food. Any more the food is over priced ! $ 19 — $ 25 — $ 34 For what you get. Go to Morettis and pay $ 20 and up for good Italian food — you will get a great salad(that comes with your meal) and Good bread there. As well as great service. I went there the Friday before Christmas to take my parents because they had been there years ago. We just went to eat — we were there over 2 hours ! Over 20 min to take our order and when we were finished I could not find our waitress(oh luckily the bus boys kept refilling our water). I was ready to pay my bill and get out of there when we finished we had some other running around to do — I can’t stand being held prisoner at a place when I want to leave !! The entrees do not come with a salad — it will be $ 5.50 to add one. And its not that great just lettuce and several tomatoes cubes. The food is just sort of bland– plain– not good. The bread is like a brick !!
If I want to stop after work and grab a few cocktails in a nice setting –OK. I will pay for the drinks I don’t mind(you will pay!). But to go out to eat this place is now off my list.

So I pretty much had high expectations for La Scala as a restaurant because of all that I’ve heard about it. It wasn’t from reviews if you guys wanted to know. My brothers friend used to work here and then got married here. Therefore when you hear about all the weddings and corporate functions this place advertises you become impressed. I decided to make a reservation because it was my birthday and the person I got on the phone from the restaurant sounded like she did not like working there and had a very negative attitude about the restaurant. When I came in I got a different attitude from the people that greeted me. I appreciated that, great customer service from the start. What didn’t win me so much about the restaurant and this is true about my husband told me earlier. Don’t expect a high end restaurant to always have the best food. I didn’t believe this until I ordered my meal and felt that maybe I could have personally made that meal better than how it was made in the restaurant. I’m glad I did try it because without trying the place I’d never know what I like and don’t like in town. What won my husband was the Chocolate Suffle which was a warm chocolate brownie looking thing with Jeni’s Goat Cheese Cherry Ice Cream on top. He also wanted to say that if you like spicy Louisiana food his Pasta Vesuvio meal will entice you next time you come in here. It had that kick of the Cajun spiced cream sauce to it.

Was here tonight for my husband’s lodge Christmas dinner. We had one of the party rooms. There was a cash bar which was not stocked as well as I would have hoped, but they had some wine… so there you go. Dinner was family style which I don’t mind so much, but 10 people at a table sharing… well, the food goes pretty quickly. They brought more food when needed, but getting more water or coffee was like pulling teeth… The bigger issue, however, was that my husband is gluten free and they would not bring amy of the food without sauce or breading. The staff told us that it is all pre ordered, but the person who set it up advised that there wasn’t any way to indicate those with food allergies. Overall a good time, but probably won’t be back unless we have to for another function. The cost for what you got and the poor service was just not worth what we paid…
