We had a terrible experience here. Super long wait time(90 minutes for our sushi and meals) even though the restaurant wasn’t that busy. My wife’s steak Hibachi came out dry and chewy. We won’t be back.

Totally bummed that my favorite sushi place in downtown Dublin has changed hands. My first to go order with them after the change… OMG roll(my favorite) is now much smaller, and with the new to go container it smashes all of the goodies on top of the roll. The two other rolls we get(spicy tuna and California) also smaller, and did not get my salmon nigiri, but got a salmon roll. Not a terrible exchange, but still disappointed.

The food was great & always is, but the carry-out experience today was seriously lacking. My wife picked up 3 rolls and 2 nigiri. The 3 rolls fit perfectly in the container. The problem with that is they were for more than 1 person & separating them caused them to pull apart and just not the experience you want with a nice spicy tuna or kinky roll. Also there wasn’t any Wasabi or soy for the rolls. The nigiri was fine and came with the regular amount of Wasabi and barely enough soy to cover the bottom of the 2 oz container. Thankfully we had more soy at home, but we had to split the nigiri’s Wasabi with all the rolls. Just annoying. We’ll have to be sure to check future carryout orders and recommend the same to others.

Mr sushi is a great staple in Dublin. I am vegetarian so don’t eat fish but I love their Korean veg bimbebop. There are always a nice crowd at this casual spot. Definitely give it a try

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in columbus. IMO they serve the freshest seafood. The sashimi deluxe is so good. My fave dishes are the Naruto Salmon and tuna, the spicy seafood salad and the uni. Paired with hot sake there’s nothing like it. Enjoy!

Playing Christmas music in a Japanese restaurant, no thank you. Waiters were very anxious and weeded the entire time. Storage boxes behind the sushi bar indicate lack of organization.

Good sushi. Interesting rolls on the menu. I have been twice and the service and food have been good both times. I would definitely go back.

I am so happy my friend told me about this place! My SO and I shared the soybean paper roll, sweetheart roll, and Atlantic roll. He also had the salmon sashimi. We loved every bite! The sushi is crafted well and made with delicious seafood and other fresh ingredients. Can’t wait to return!

I was really looking forward to trying Mr. Sushi after reading these great reviews. However I was very disappointment by the tuna quality and texture. I ordered the engine #6 roll as well as spicy tuna and the texture of the tuna was very dry and lacked flavor. It was very mushy and tasted bland. It almost seemed it was bound with something to keep its shape on top of the rolls. The best part was when I walked in to order the waiter informed me that I was lucky to come in today because they had blue tail tuna in compared to whatever is used before. I’m no where close to a sushi snob but I just expected better flavor and textures from the ingredients at this type of restaurant.

Miso soup and gyoza were good… otherwise, a huge disappointment for the following reasons: 1. Asked for negiri and received sashimi 1. a — scallop was gritty and had unfamiliar shell like bits throughout(likely not cleaned properly) 2. The super volcano roll was tasteless and sludge-like, slapped on top of an off-putting California roll… generally disgusting 3. Server forgot about us(no more than 3 tables with customers in the entire establishment) 4. Provided ketchup condiment cups for soy sauce… while this won’t shock anyone, the sushi didn’t fit *Restaurant comp’d our miso soup and a fountain drink… We won’t be back.

It has been hard to find sushi I look forward to around Columbus… until Mr Sushi! Super affordable, interesting menu, and a great patio. I look forward to visiting every time. Quick tips: – pepper tuna marinated is super good, but you can’t taste it in the roll — I would ask for it plain or pull it out so you can revel in the spiciness. – I’m not a fan of any place’s chopped up fish in spicy rolls because it seems suspect, but they will bring you a side of spicy mayo with your plain rolls :)

I waited at the bar for 10 minutes for a server. No one came. This is not the first time that I’ve waited an excessively long time for lunch service, even though they are always less than half full. Bye! I don’t know what else there is to say, but Unilocal won’t post this as a review unless it’s longer.

While the sushi is excellent, the service could use some help. Our waiter couldn’t keep us with refilling water, equipping us with appropriate utensils or bringing our order out correctly. Between that and the host/manager running around telling his staff to ‘mingle more with the customers’ it made for an interesting experience. Upon leaving, my father and husband both said the men’s bathroom was vile. I hope this improves!

Very good sushi & very good service. I wouldn’t consider this place the best in Columbus but it’s pretty good for being right down the street. The Sushi /Nigiri was extremely fresh & flavorful. The ginger was fresh. Sake was the perfect temperature when served. Service was attentive & pleasant & the price was reasonable.

Saturday 9PM, I decided to grab dinner here instead of defaulting to my usual place around the corner. Yikes, looking back I wish I stuck with my original plan. This didn’t feel like authentic sushi and I felt cheated. I should’ve been more weary when the staff kept insisting that everything was good. Compared to Ronin: it’s a tie. Ronin’s got the price point to better match their sushi. Miso Soup: Highlight of my meal. Good, strong flavor and overall got me excited for the meal forthcoming. That’s about where the fun and excitement ends. Shrimp Tempura: The breading was light(barely darkened) color. Nowhere near the golden brown that I’m use to seeing on tempura. Had no flavor and I was desperately dipping the tempura into the sauce to hope for some enjoyment. Spicy Tuna Roll: As Kaoru mentioned, the added crunchy fried breading downgraded this roll big time. My roll was literally 50⁄50 sushi/crunch. Oh-My-God Roll — I agree with the staff that this roll was good… provided it was not drowning in sauce. Fish was good and the jalapeño on top added a kick but the sauce inside, outside, under made this roll feel so heavy. After packing my sushi in a to-go box, I lifted my plate and saw the sauce running. Green Tea tasted like flavored water.

I’m not sure who started it, but I’ve noticed a disturbing trend recently of the tuna filling in spicy tuna rolls being cut with tenkasu(little pieces of crunchy fried breading from tempura). I’ve noticed that Ronin and Blue Ginger also pulls that stunt in the area. If you add just a little bit, it adds a nice crunch to the spicy tuna roll. However, the proportion of tenkasu in my spicy tuna roll from Mr Sushi was so high that it might as well have been called a soggy tenkasu roll with spicy tuna flavoring. It’s like a hamburger patty that’s 50% bread crumb and 50% beef. Not cool. Also add that to the fact that the Dublin location of Mr Sushi charges a higher price compared to their Gahanna location, despite the menu being otherwise identical. Doubly not cool. To charge more but yet skimp so egregiously on the tuna? Boo. Next time I want a spicy tuna roll, I’ll go to Akai Hana for their $ 6 spicy tuna roll with no tenkasu filling. It’s worth the 50 cent upcharge from the $ 5.50 spicy tenkasu roll at Mr Sushi.

This wasn’t the first time for me at Mr. Sushi, and it won’t be the last either! My friend and stopped here for dinner after a showing of Godzilla(how stereotypically appropriate, right?) It was pretty late in the evening, around 9pm, and we were both pretty hungry. Despite it being so late though, the place was about half full, with some people sitting outdoors and some sitting indoors. As someone who loves sushi, I have actually never gotten a sushi boat, so I figured it was finally about time to do so! My friend and I split the Mr. Sushi Boat($ 49.95), which included 12 sashimi, 12 nigiri, a spicy tuna roll, and a shrimp tempura roll. It was definitely more than enough for the both of us, and we triumphantly conquered the whole vessel. I think the chef was extra nice to us because our sashimi pieces were cut a tad thicker than I’ve usually seen(no complaints here!) Also, their spicy tuna roll had a much greater filling-to-rice ratio than I’m used to. The only negative thing I would have to say is that while I really enjoyed the taste of their sushi rice(not too vinegar-y), the stickiness was a bit off, as every time I picked up a piece of nigiri, the rice would fall apart. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Despite it being so late in the night, they didn’t make us feel rushed to eat quickly and leave. As I said before, I’ll definitely be back!

The sushi is pretty interesting here and by interesting I mean they are loaded with stuff. We tried a number of sushi and if they were either loaded with stuff on top or loaded with ingredients inside! So yeah, it’s pretty filling. The only con is they didn’t have a single plastic fork at this place when we asked for it for our take out, um what?! Maybe they ran out of it on that day? but then again it was in the afternoon. Oh well, better luck next time!

One of the best places in the Columbus area to get sushi. They have a large variety of rolls — raw and cooked or combination of the two. The few raw fish items I’ve had have already been fresh. I’ve been to both Gahanna location and this location, and they are consistent with their food. I think Gahanna may have better service, but that depends on the server. I also like how they have some cheaper rolls that are smaller portions so you can order two instead of one bigger one. It’s nice to try new things! If you’re in the area, I highly suggest checking either location out. It is up to par with some of my other favorite sushi places in Columbus. Being land locked and with an abundant amount of sushi places in Columbus, it’s not easy to find a consistently good place when so many restaurants are trying to do it. Bet you’ll try it here and come back!
