We had 2 pizzas and an italian sub delivered. Girl that answered the phone was not paying attention. Had to repeat parts of order several times. Toppings were good but not fond of crust flavor or thickness on pizzas. Sub was nothing to write home about. Would of preferred bun more crispy than soft.

Perhaps I have high pizza expectations, but Rotolo’s unfortunately did not live up to any of them. It’s a midwestern style, square cut pizza, but the ingredients are just BLAH. They’re nothing out of this world, nor do they seem high quality or non processed. This is pizza if you were a kid you’d freak the fuck out about, but as an adult, you’ll be desiring something a bit more refined and less«cheap». I ordered an Italian sub hoping to be wow’d, but even BEFORE I had a chance to bite into my sub, I saw a picture on one of their banners inside this location and thought to myself, «Oh man, I made a mistake.» Me… totally judging a book by it’s cover, or in this case, a sub by it’s picture, was completely correct. You see that over abundance of sub bun and minimal contents inside? Yep, that’s what you’ll get. Dammit, I should have looked at the pictures first. Terrible picture and even terrible sub. Rotolo’s in one word: Disappointing. Head to Enrico’s or head to another part of town. Dublin seems to be lacking a good consistent pizza joint these days.

Good pizza comes down to a few key things: sauce, freshness of ingredients and dough(not much else to the pizza come to think of it). Regardless, Rotolo’s executes on all of the above well — the sauce is custom made and not out of a can. It’s not too acidic, and not too bold. The flavor lingers just long enough to allow you to savor, before getting the toppings in the bite. While this place is a chain, it’s really a mom and pop shop that has multiple location(hence the limited hours). They have subs and other food too, I’ve only had the meatball, and it’s top-notch. Recommended to dine at if you’re around one of their locations.

Oh, you’ve made me vewy, vewy angwy, Rotolo’s(or would that be Wotolo’s? Nevermind). You have the nerve to close at 11:00 p.m. on a Friday night? What self-respecting pizza place closes this early on the weekend? And you didn’t even apologize when you gruffly barked into the phone, «Closed at 11.» Also, that raises another question — why are you still answering the phone at 11:20 if you closed at 11? Sheesh. I’ve made a deal with myself that, despite my affinity for their pizza, I will officially boycott Rotolo’s for one pizza craving and go elsewhere. So the next time I get pizza, the options are wide open(and I don’t count Hounddog’s as part of the boycott, because I wasn’t even aware that I was eating pizza that night — I could have been served deep-fried cattails and happily eaten them). Just a tip, Rotolo’s — most of the people ordering pizza on the weekend will be drunks who get hungry around 11:00 or midnight. You should take advantage of this. I don’t know if Dublin has some kind of weird curfew where businesses have to shut down by a certain time(and if so, i apologize), but at least explore the possibility of staying open for another hour or two.
