We drove from the 16MP to get our steaks and seafood here. It was amazing! The steaks and the steak rub were worth the trip. They cut them to the thickness we requested and were aged to perfection. My mom said the crab cakes were among the best she’s ever had. The steamed spiced shrimp were delicious. I cannot say enough good things about this place. AND this is from a person who has been coming to the Outer Banks for more than 30 years. Why, oh why, didn’t we do this sooner???

You can buy your staples at the wee winks but tommys has great snacks and gourmet food items. The cashier helped us pick out a chocolate bar that was just the best! They have options for all kinds of chocolate lovers. A good place to find some more interesting food/snack options.

Great place. Good options. Prices are no to little different than Harris Teeter, but it’s in a fun specialty store environment. Unique and local food items. Awesome homemade crab dip!

This place was great years back. At some point they just stopped trying. While it is a decent spot in a pinch for the essentials, don’t waste your time anymore. Not only have prices skyrocketed and service plummeted, they are just unfriendly now. It’s sad but true.

The Cajun crab dip is a must on every family trip to Duck. Don’t worry– it is filled with crab, unlike other«crab dips» I’ve encountered. The Boars Head deli products are delicious and comparably priced. Be prepared for a small line at the deli counter!

Awesome fresh market! Gluten free options, gourmet selection has a wide range from pastas to locally made salts. We picked up a BBQ sauce, their custom blend fish seasoning, clams & shrimp. Super delish! Clean, friendly service. Highly recommend this speciality market.

We have gone to Tommy’s Gourmet Market many times over the years. This year we spent two separate weeks at the OBX, one with family and one just as a couple. We found the Food Lion at Corolla to be seriously lacking, the Harris Teeter at Corolla very disappointing as compared to other Harris Teeters and full of people who did not speak English as their primary language. HT was also outrageously expensive! The cheese place up in Corolla(Bacchus or something to similar to that) was very expensive and did not have a good selection of gourmet foods. We found ourselves repeatedly going to Tommy’s Gourmet both trips and found foods that we can find in Richmond(which is a city of foodies these days). They have great salads already prepared, lots of good food options, and they all speak English! They remembered our faces from visit to visit, were always very appreciative for our business, and we went to the Tuesday afternoon tasting and had a good time. So… next year, we have the same two weeks planned and we will get our basic groceries and haul them with us, but Tommy’s will be our go to place for gourmet items, ready made things, and beer/wine.

I am really sad to write this review because I was waiting to check this place out all week and had high hopes! The ad posted for them in our rental house said that they had fresh baked goods, so I went in looking for a pie. The woman who greeted me took me to the pie rack and bragged on the way about how they were delivered daily by a local woman — sounded great, right? I picked up the bumbleberry(recommended by the woman also) and immediately noted the long list of ingredients listed on the box. Some of the ingredients were things I would NOT expect to find in a locally made pie sold at a natural market — hydrogenated oil, high fructose corn syrup, etc. Thinking maybe it was just the bumbleberry, I checked the other varieties, but all the same. So disappointing! These pies might be ‘homemade’ but she is clearly using very processed ingredients — I’m guessing purchasing the dough? I immediately left and went to buy my pie at the bakery down the street. I’m giving two stars over one because it looked like they did have some nice local/organic products available — I however would rather spend my dollars elsewhere, where the words«natural» and«local» are legit

This is where I get the meat(fish and steak) for the big grill-out dinner that I have with friends every year when we go to the outer banks. The meat isn’t cheap, but it’s a lot nicer than any of the other places I’ve found in the outer banks, so I keep going back. Also, it’s a great bike ride from most of the beach houses you can rent in Ocean Shores and Duck. They also have a very nice selection of craft beer. It would be decent even in a real city and so finding it on the outer banks is pretty impressive. The rest of the stuff is overpriced and we wind up heading down to Food Lion for it. Even the specialty items are hit-and-miss, so be careful. We got cigars here and the wound up making us all pretty sick. My take: get good beer and meat here and get the rest of your stuff at the Food Lion down the way.

Great place! Loved the local products, the healthy options and the kind employees, and quick-stop feel. Felt great to support a local business with a great vibe when we needed to pick up some basics while on vacation.

This was always a must stop in the 20 plus years of going to the Outer Banks but something changed this summer. We went in twice and were extremely disappointed. Disappointed in the selection of items but even more important the attitude of the employees. The guys behind the counter were rude. I heard one of them say to a customer«I told you twice already» it was about the steamed shrimp. The customer left the store without the shrimp. You could not choose which meat you wanted on a sandwich. Ham sandwich… you only had their choice. It was too hard to give a customer what they wanted to pay for. Is this place under new ownership? I reserved my house for two weeks next summer but I won’t be stopping at Tommy’s.

We enjoy stopping here to browse and buy products made in North Carolina. There is not a huge selection of native products but they have signs indicating if an item is NC made. Today we bought a bottle of wine and a bottle of BBQ sauce.

This is barely 3 stars. I’ve shopped here most times I’ve come to duck. It’s a moderate sized store that specialized in exotics and seafoods/meats. It’s a good place to get that thing your desperate for but the produce is generally just on the good side of poor. The meat is good quality but you get smacked with the prices as you hit the register. Another reviewer said it and I can’t find better: «the prices are almost outrageous», and that about sums it up. Good if your desperate but drive to Bacchus’ in Corolla(for meat, wine, cheese) or to the Harris Teeter’s on either end if you want to be ripped off less.

Very expensive place in the area that offers quality cuts of meat and other exotics. I would personally recommend the Harris Teeter up the road over here but this place will do in a pinch. Prices are quite high.

We got some really great cut-to order angus steaks, as well as steamed shrimp and some crab cakes. The shrimp was good, the steak was spectacular, and the crab cakes were delicious and had lots of visible chunks of crab in them. The store is small but packed with gourmet foods. I was especially impressed with their salt selection. The prices were high, even for the above average quality of the foods, but if you want to put together a memorable meal in the Outer Banks, this would be the place to do it.

Came up here based on mailing we got advertising Tuesday sip and sample. Very tiny shop with overpriced selection. Just a couple sad samples. Definitely not worth a drive, does have some high quality stuff if you haven’t brought provisions and need to purcase at beach prices.

Yes, it’s pricey, but it sells GREAT coffee, fresh seafood and steaks, and gourmet items like ice cream, Stonewall Kitchen products, and specialty ingredients. If you’re having a special dinner in the OBX, this is the place to go. Conveniently located right by the Waterfront Shoppes.

Oh good gawd! Seriously now… I’d stopped in here before about 3 years ago and I do not recall this place being sooooo expensive. I admit I am somewhat of a tightwad, but not when it comes to food, wine, or anything having to do with a dining experience — so you cannot say it’s all my fault. Issues: — Everything they have here(with maybe like a 3 item exception) they have at the HT in KDH or Corolla. — The place is small. — The selection is sparse. — They had a very tiny cheese section, and for some place that is a gourmet market I would think they would have some cambazola!(The major brand of cheeses here is Boars Head…) — No blue cheese stuffed olives. — The freshness of cheeses was somewhat questionable on a few items I picked up(and put back). And I know I already said it, but in case you skipped over it, or missed my rant: — Everything they have here they have somewhere else a lot less expensive! — $ 8 for a box of crackers? — $ 39 for a bottle of wine that is $ 19 at HT? — 1 salami, 1 piece of smoked gouda, 1 generic bottle of wine = $ 60. Oyesa. I think I will just pass this place by on my next trip to Corolla.

Meh. I’m tempted to give two stars due to the poor produce here(potatoes were soft and the corn was so old I opted to get something else) But I have to give them credit for their good variety of gourmet and organic items, and for being biking distance to many beach houses in the area. Prices, however, are just this side of outrageous. Pretty much the place to go for that emergency gourmet item you need to have right away. For a full shopping trip, the longer drive to Harris Teeter in Kill Devil Hills is a better bet.

Eh, it was a bodega with passable food, average wine, and a decent selection. Prices were insane, though. The seafood wasn’t great but the prices were worse. If you like gourmet chocolate, their selection is huge! Just go to Harris Teeter instead. Better fish, better prices.
