A note: This place compelled me to join Unilocal and give my honest review of this place. Second note: The Sweets are awesome here — just avoid eating the Snacks/Food/Lunch/Dinner here. I understand now why the Sweets section charge separately than the Restaurant orders!!! As the Restaurant/Food service and quality of food has gone down. — — — — — — — — — – The service, quality of food has gone down drastically from what they used to serve when they opened(4 months ago they opened). If you are dining in — I can expect if they miss something that you bring that to their notice and they serve you the right way. However, if you take out their food — and reach home and find out that Dabeli did not have condiments as they are supposed to serve for the amount they charge — its ridiculous! This has happened twice in a row. Certain things like Methi Gota were re-fried probably to make it look fresh. Dabeli did not have Sev served nor enough condiments. For three orders of Batata Wada ordered that would fit in a box they dont give extra chutney which you would expect! I think I am done with Gokul Sweets at Duluth — Less customers means less fresh food served.

I didn’t try the snacks or food… just the sweets which I didn’t care for. I normally luv Bengali style sweets(which are supposed to be wet) but these were dry and tasted old to me.

generally do not write reviews unless I am disgusted with the place, or highly impressed. Here, it was the latter and was for a catering order that I placed for my son’s birthday. As vegetarians, we have limited options when it comes to exclusive vegetarian catering services, but I did speak to a few before deciding on Gokul Duluth. My decision was based on their price — the most inexpensive compared to others — honesty in dealing — of particularly the manager Raju — and the willingness to accommodate my request to provide buffet serving dishes, which was done for no extra cost(when my order was for a relatively small group of 40). Frankly, my expectation of the food was not that high. The appetizers and the naan were also average(and in hindsight I should have taken Raju’s suggestion of rotis instead of naan). However, everything else was superb! The bhindi fry, paneer tikka masala, and the raita were awesome. I don’t think I have had better bhindi fry anywhere else. Not even in India. And everything was fresh. We were not sure whether the quantity would be enough so we ordered extra 5 plates, but I was wrong. Their portions were generous and the leftovers lasted until the next day. Overall, a very satisfying experience!! I

see how manipulative these guys are always put the best rating from payal at the top not the recent ratings. She must be a relative of those jokers who work there else who in the world put the pictures of every kind of sweet available there, come on be real. Unilocal need to manage this and provide accurate information to the people who want to spend their hard earned buck there. I hope this place will shut down soon.

I loved the dabeli and papri chaat. Others ordered chole, sev puri and masala dosa. I’ll stick to my two favorites.

PLEASEDONOTEATHERE. I do not write reviews. But due to my experience with this place, I want to warn my fellow citizens. They serve stale food especially Idly and Vada. If you love your kids and family I urge you to not give this food to them. We used to eat at the Decature location, which we like. Though this location is horrible. We ordered Idly & Vada combo and Paneer dosa. I do not want to write bad words here but it was like shit. And I understand if the taste is not good but it was not about taste. They had probably made Idly and Vada like 2 – 3 days before and microwaved that and served. The Vada was like rubber. It was chewy and soaked in bad oil. PLEASEPLEASEDONOTGOTOTHISPLACE. I wish I could give –10 stars here. On top of that the customer service is also horrible. Obviously we complained about the food and threw away that in front of the manager. And they still charged us. No decent restaurant would do that. There are 13 reviews for this place and I think all those reviews are from friends and family. Do not believe those reviews. THISPLACESUCKSBIGTIME. Please save you money and eat at some other good healthy place.

Horrible service. Came in on a Friday night and they were busy. Very rude cashier who did not care for customers. She rolled her eyes when we would ask questions about gluten and ingredients. Did not feel it was safe enough for gluten free folks, so we walked out. Decatur location was a bit better, probably will not be back.

Ordered 4 items: kachori, idli, samosa chat and ras malai… Had to send ras malai back, as the pieces were broken, the idli were not fresh and kachori soggy and microwaved .when the bill came in they had still charged me for the items retuned. Overall not a place which I would go back !

Service is horrible. We were standing at the table for 10 mins and nobody bothered to clean the table. We were at the restaurant at 1.30PM and they didn’t have thali ready even during peak lunch hours. We got our order after 20 mins. Pav Bhaji was burnt, idli and vada didn’t look and taste fresh. Will never come back to this place.

The food tasted great! The service was poor and slow for price of the food. This place is better for getting your food to go.

The Beingan Curry is amazing. The Mushroom Baby Corn Noodle is not bad. I can’t wait to try the thali, onion chili uttapam, the chaat dishes, and the Kesar Pista Falooda.

My local friends brought me here as I was passing through Atlanta area. Please keep in mind I’m a non vegetarian and I don’t think on my own I would think to eat a meal at a chat place First off this place is worth coming for chat over and over again. I ordered Saag Paneer my saag chopped tomatoes and onions were swimming in cream looking like a creamy cheese in macaroni and cheese. In a large plate I ate 3 small squares of paneer right away with my roti and that was all the paneer in that big plate. Otherwise I had this large plate with liquid and if thicker could have passed for cheddar broccoli soup. After about 5 minutes the entire dish went cold and became harder to eat(similar to when cheddar broccoli soup gets cold). My vegetarian friend tried dish and wasn’t compelled to take any more or to pack home. Likewise friend was alright with Chole Bhatura but didn’t take home and felt this place only worth ordering chat. They had come the week before and ordered chat papdi couple of times and they also like the Faluda dessert The kids ordered dosa and thought okay. Older kid thought too oily and likely will order something else while younger would order again(but didn’t seem to keen to eat overall) The corn soup lacked salt(even after putting lot of salt) I didn’t try sweets but the display case looked tempting with large variety Consensus of our group is that this is a good place for snack items and worth coming again only for snack items Again. Keep in mind I’m a non veg tandoori eating person. The décor was good as was the service.

This company has multiple locations ITP and this is the first one in the suburbs. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for casual Indian dining or people who like Indian sweets and snacks. Everything looks delicious in their glass cases and they even have some sweets that are made with Splenda! For the restaurant portion you would be hard pressed to find anything left off the menu. They have everything from chaat to dosa to Indo-Chinese and the ever famous curries of Punjab. I liked the added lighting to this place that sets it apart from your average Indian dining experience. Worth stopping by for a bite or a tray of sweets to share with loved ones.

I can’t express in words how happy I was when I heard rumors of this chaat house opening few miles away from my house. And it finally did, I went in the week after it opened. This is by far my favorite Indian food/snacks resturant in town.

Awesome tasting chaat with a huge variety of veggie options. Love their sev puri, Dahi puri, puri chole, triple scezhuan fried rice, hakka noodles. Thali & Pau Bhaji are okay — nothing to rave about. Faalooda for dessert is good. They still have to figure out the waiting time but food came to table pretty quickly. Good service. Will be back to fill my chaat pallette.

Absolutely loved this place! Everything from the service, décor, taste, ambience, everything was so nicely formatted! I ordered chaat & masala dosa, & then falooda at the end. The food came out VERY quickly but the taste was even better! The location was extremely clean and well kept. They had the menus with pictures on various TV screens but also had physical menus to hand out. We waited 30 minutes before being seated but in all fairness they were pretty packed! Overall, this was a GREAT place and I most definitely recommend it! :)

Excellent as always. The Duluth location is much bigger than the Decatur spots and the space is decorated beautifully. This location offers a convenient sitdown service. The staff are very friendly here and they offer the best chaat and sweets in Gwinnett. We really needed Gokul in Gwinnett. My favorites include Karachi Chat, Masala Dosa, Chole Bhature, Hakka Noodles, and their sweets are amazing. My only concern about this place is keeping my waist line in check.

Great one place stop for indian sweets and snacks. This restaurant setup matched the sweet shops like in india and is also making delicious authentic food. The service and ambience was good as well. I tried pani poori where the paani and chana tasted fresh and was served by hand like in india. Paav Bhaji: it was delicious where the bread was aptly basted with butter and rightly fried and the curry was made really well, and the combination just melted in the mouth. Karachi Chat: it was outright yummy all the ingredients blended really well which gave a feast tco my taste buds. They are also in the process of serving fresh pan all the setup is ready heard they are waiting on license. This place is right on my way to work and i am sure i will make lot of trips.
