This rating is for their lunch buffet. The ambiance is modern and clean. Service is attentive and friendly. I’ve tried their buffet twice and it was high quality. They offered all the condiments that you would need to accompany the dishes. They have an ample selection that isn’t over the top. The foods they offer are deliciously rich with spice and cooked well. The saag is nice and thick unlike some restaurants that make it like the consistency of pea soup. Curry chicken on the bone is very good. The standard chicken tikka masala has high quality chicken and will please the masses. Fresh Naan is brought out to your table. Nothing is worse than cold and rubbery naan, so this is a nice bonus. The staff smile and don’t have that zombie look that you might experience in some lower end places.

Not a restaurant for vegetarians ! We ordered paneer Khadhia and dum aloo and rotis. The quantities were insufficient so we had to order another dish. The rotis were hard and had to be reordered. with great hesitation that staff replaced the rotis and by that time we eat rice. Not a place we will ever go back !

Moksha Kitchen is an Indian restaurant located in The French Quarter on Peachtree Industrial Blvd in Duluth. «The French Quarter» refers to a retail and office development with a New Orleans theme. In addition to Moksha Kitchen, this place is also home to a J. Christopher’s. Moksha Kitchen opened October 17, 2012. In Indian religion, the word«moksha» means release or liberation. This is a solid Indian restaurant with good food and good service. The restaurant is simple and clean with a casual, but somewhat elegant atmosphere. There are hardwood floors, exposed brick, solid-painted walls with wood trim, pendant lighting, and white tablecloths on every table. There’s a long wooden bar and both indoor and outdoor seating. Tables on the patio are umbrella-covered. Interior seating is all tables(no booths) with an estimated seating capacity of 60. Moksha Kitchen is open seven days a week for lunch(11:30am to 3:00pm) and dinner(5:00pm to 10:00pm). They serve North Indian, South Indian, and Gujarati(from Western India) cuisine. Foods include various appetizers from samosas to Manchurians, tandoori(clay oven) kabobs, curries including vegetarian, meat, and seafood options, biryani rice dishes, and assorted Indian breads(e.g. naan, roti, paratha, etc.). Appetizers run about $ 6 – 9 each and most entrees $ 11 – 15 each. There’s also a pretty awesome lunch buffet that is only $ 10 on weekdays and $ 12 on weekends. I had the lunch buffet and really enjoyed it. I tried and generally liked everything. Here’s what was on the buffet when I went: Main Buffet — Vegetarian Dishes: * Batura — North Indian deep-fried bread * Mix Rakoda — this appeared to be a mix of vegetable pakora fritters and crisps * Mutter Paneer — North Indian paneer cheese and peas in a tomato-based sauce * Cabbage Bhaji — dish made with cabbage and peas * Hari Makkai Saag — a corn and spinach dish * Dal Makhani — black lentils, red kidney beans, butter, and cream(«buttery lentil» from the Punjab region) * Zuccini Masala — sliced zucchini in a mixture of spices * Navrattan Korma — a sort of vegetable curry made with cashew paste and cream * Kadhai Paneer — cubes of paneer cheese in a pepper-based curry sauce Main Buffet — Seafood, Meats & Rice: * Fish Curry * Basmati Rice — plain white basmati rice * Vegetable Biryani — flavored rice with peas, corn, and other assorted chopped veggies * Chicken Tikka Masala — boneless * Chicken Curry — bone-in * Tandoori Chicken — roasted chicken, bone-in Special/Dessert Buffet: * Aloo Tikki Chole — North Indian street food consisting of spiced potato patties, chickpeas, and various toppings * Gulab Jamun — deep-fried milk-dough balls in syrup * Kheer — sweet rice pudding * Sliced Cantaloupe * Yogurt * Sliced Cucumber One thing I like about the buffet is that for the Batura and Tandoori Chicken items, there was a time stamp next to the item descriptions to let customers know what time the batches were made. For example, both the Batura and Tandoori Chicken had a note that said«11:30AM» next to them. Since it’s a buffet, I recommend trying a little bit of everything and going back for items you like. Warm, fresh baked batches of naan bread were brought to our table. The pieces of naan had a slight sheen of oil on them which was appetizing. Of the vegetarian dishes, my favorites were the vegetable pakoras from the Mix Rakoda, Cabbage Bhaji, Dal Makhani, and Navrattan Korma. The vegetable pakoras are small fried snacks. A delectable appetizer. I’m a fan of cabbage and liked how the Cabbage Bhaji was prepared. Crunchy and flavorful. The Dal Makhani was comforting. It’s a sort of hearty bean dish that goes great with naan. I liked the Navrattan Korma because the sauce was nice and creamy. The paneer dishes(Mutter and Kadhai) were tasty too. I like paneer cheese. The non-vegetarian dishes didn’t fare as well in my opinion. Overall, these items were a bit dry, particularly the plain white Basmati Rice and the Tandoori Chicken(despite being less than an hour old). Still not bad though. The fish curry dish was simple and sort of plain, but the fish itself was decent quality. The Vegetable Biryani was more moist than the white rice and had good flavor. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Curry were OK. The sauces were savory. And while the Tandoori Chicken had dried out some, it was still satisfying and toothsome, especially the crispier roasted bits attached to the bone. I absolutely loved the Aloo Tikki Chole. On the buffet, a mixture of chickpeas and onions sits on a hot iron plate, still sizzling and bubbling away, surrounded by small handmade spiced potato patties. This is a food you assemble yourself by first placing a potato patty and chickpeas on your plate and then adding different toppings such as chopped onion and tomato. Fantastic stuff. Desserts were par for the course which is to say yummy. The Gulab Jamun was expectedly sweet and rich, and I had to get seconds of that Kheer. Service was terrific.

I was here twice for lunch buffet and the only reason was its a paid lunch. Food is good but not great and the selection is pretty small not many options for vegetarians here. In my recent visit they served pani poori but no water for the poori, when asked he said to use tamarind extract.LOL. Two stars for goat curry which was cooked well.

I always enjoy the food at Moksha. Before this restaurant moved to this side of town it was located in a repurposed house near Roswell. Since then, the family that runs this place has been serving some of the best Indian food in the area. We went in for lunch on a Sunday and were surprised to find only two other groups there. Chose to order from the menu instead of the lunch buffet and we were happy we did. The dishes we tried were Paneer Pasand and Methi Mattar Malai, with bullet naan and regular naan. The paneer pasand was stuffed with a raisin base, but I was not a big fan of the paneer. The gravy for the dish was superb, though. If you visit and are a spice lover I do recommend that you order the bullet naan here. Overall, a good place to come eat and dependable service as well.

Came here last night for dinner after finding this place on Scoutmob. Service was great, and we really enjoyed the food as well. Before your meal, they bring out some papadum with a couple sauces for dipping. Papadum is like a really thin, crispy, round cracker. Our server told us it is made from lentils. I liked both of the sauces served with it. One was a tamarind sauce, and the other tasted like cilantro. They serve beer and wine here. They didn’t have a drink menu to look at, so our server just told was what they had. We ordered Kingfisher, which is an Indian beer. This was my first time having it, and I thought it was pretty good. What we ordered: Bullet Naan($ 3) — This is naan with a little bit of heat. It’s topped with chili, garlic, and onion. Not as flavorful as I would have liked it to be. It was good, but I think next time I’ll order the garlic naan with hopes for more of a garlic flavor. Goan Shrimp Curry($ 15) — I was debating between playing it safe with chicken tikka masala or ordering this. I’m glad I went with the shrimp curry! It was delicious! The sauce is made with coconut, coriander, tamarind, & spices, and it was SOOOYUMMY! Lamb Dhansak($ 15) — Lamb cooked in hot spices, sour flavors, & lentils. I only had a couple bites of this, but I thought it was really good and flavorful. Gulab Jamun($ 3) — This is a traditional Indian dessert that is ball-shaped with a spongy consistency and served in a sweet syrup. The taste reminds me of pancakes. I only had a bite since I’m not a huge fan, but my girlfriend loves them. Overall, we really enjoyed dinner here. I’d love to come back and try some other dishes!

Is it a hidden gem if it’s in plain sight? Man I had no idea about this place but you don’t need to know a secret handshake or special coordinates to locate it, although once you find it, you’ll be happy you did. I’d never been to an Indian buffet, and didn’t expect very much in terms of quality, but man, this is some really good food! Items on the buffet ranged from vegetable biryani to Tandoori Chicken(slightly dry, but still tasty), and tables received complimentary naan, all for $ 11 There wasn’t a single thing I tried on the buffet spread that I didn’t find tasty, and if you didn’t know what something was, or how to make a dish, the staff were right there helping you out. Very cool. Flavors were there. Spices popped, although there weren’t a ton of super spicy dishes on the buffet The only concern about this place was, the foot traffic. It was a Sunday afternoon and outside of the group I was with, the place was simply empty for a very long time. I hope that during dinner or weekdays it has more customers. Very clean including the restroom, and especially around the buffet area, and large enough to hold fairly large sized groups. Now that I know it’s here, i’ll definitely be back

Decided to have a lunch buffet one weekend after that decided not visit again. The reason I have rated this place with 3 stars is because of the service. The server was pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. The food tasted good but the after-effects were not very pleasant.

Ate dinner here late one night a few weeks back and had a great experience. Service started out a little slow(young man was learning the trade, me thinks…) but picked up over the course of the evening. Ordered my usual: Chicken Vindaloo, and Naan(this time sesame Naan!) Had the Vindaloo made about 8⁄10 on the hotness scale, and it FINALLY it actually was 8 out of 10! Nice burn that got hotter the longer I waited! Loved it! The Vindaloo reminded me of some of the best I’ve had, and brought me back to a small Indian restaurant in the south side of Dublin, 1997… where I enjoyed some really HOT Vindaloo! Enjoyed a 20 oz. Taj Mahal beer too. Great food! 4 Stars!

I’ve had a lot of Indian friends in my life, so I have tried and eaten a lot of Indian food but I never know exactly what I’m eating and certainly can’t remember the name of the dish. That’s why Indian buffets are excellent for me– I get to try a bit of everything and try to memorize names of dishes for another day. I think if you are an Indian food novice like myself, Moksha is a great place to try some new things for a good price. This is the first Indian restaurant I’ve been to where I LOVED everything I tried! Each scoop I put on my plate tasted fresh and not full of salt and preservatives. The lunch buffet is set with an array of about 15 hot dishes and about another 10 cold dishes. When you arrive, they set you up at a table and you can begin immediately, which is great for the typical weekday lunch hour. I tried something I had not before, of course I can’t remember the exact name, but it was a vegetable korma, and it was AMAZING. I went back for more which is a first for any Indian food I’ve ever had. I also enjoyed the chili chicken they had out, which was spicier than most of the other dishes presented to us. I also had some dish that consisted mostly of chickpeas that I paired with the bhature, very good! Bonus: fresh naan provided straight to your table! I will definitely return!

I have it a habit to come here at least once a week or once every two weeks for lunch. Besides the fact that readily available food with no wait is appealing when I feel like I might pass out from hunger, the food here is delicious. Full disclosure that I am no indian food expert but this place has consistently made me want to branch out more. Oh how I love the chickpea now because of this place. The staff is always welcoming and I love the basket of fresh naan that comes to the table once you’ve made your selections at the buffet. I also love the fact that they have rice pudding and Galub Jamun for dessert.

This is some of the best Indian food I have had in this area! Definitely worth coming to. The prices were good and the quality was superb. The service is fairly good as well. I ordered the butter chicken and the bullet Naan and both did not disappoint. Definitely recommend anyone looking for good Indian food to come here. You will be pleased!

After finding our initial destination closed, this was our fallback choice for lunch today. We were afraid that another Indian buffet place further away towards Alpharetta would be too crowded, so we tried Moksha Kitchen. We arrived around 12:30 p.m. or so. The place was about half full and ramped up a bit more while we were there. They had a decent selection at their buffet, and I tried about 6 or 7 different items. None were bad, and several were quite good(I didn’t expect to like everything, of course). I was especially fond of the Paneer Makhani and the Peas Palak dishes. They also offered a salad station, which is always nice. Plus they had something akin to Indian hush-puppies(I didn’t catch the name) which were tasty. My wife enjoyed the items she sampled also. They bring you fresh naan from the kitchen, which was very good — slightly crispy and warm, without being too dry or too dough-y. I’m only deducting a star because it took me 3 tries to find a clean salad plate. The plates were stacked upside-down, so you must first flip it over before knowing what you’ll get. The first one was about 40% covered with unwashed crusty residue from a prior salad. This might not have bugged me quite so much but the 2nd plate was similarly about 10% encrusted(?!). The third time was the charm though. I didn’t see any issues with the main larger plates or silverware, so maybe it was a fluke. Overall, recommended.

An Indian restaurant that I like. I got to visit Moksha for lunch with some co-workers. I was supper skeptical about this place because I don’t like 98.5% of Indian restaurants I’ve been to. Moksha like all Indian restaurants has a lunch buffet for $ 10. There are about 16 items available and on first glance had all the usual. There was your Chicken Tikka masala, Tandoori Chicken, Basmati Rice and Dal. But to my surprise, there was Bhature! Now this is a dish that i like but is never on the menus at Indian restaurants! Needless to say I ate a lot of Bhature! All the dishes were good. The naan that was served was some of the best in Atlanta metro area, but the Chicken Tikka could have been spicier. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but it was clean. I thought the service was good. There didn’t do anything very special but responded quickly. Overall 5 stars for good food a good price.

Moksha Kitchen is in the complex where my favourite sushi place used to be(RIP)! But moving on… I met my fam at Moksha for dinner on a Wed night. They have a Scoutmob 50% off deal and my dad’s totally obsessed with Scoutmob because you know… he’s an Asian dad(*cheap* cough cough). We were the only customers at the restaurant, so the servers were SUPER nice and attentive. I mean, the chef even came out and shook my dad’s hand lol. They have a pretty extensive menu. We ordered samosas, two types of naan, tandoori mixed grill(with 5 types of tandoori items), lamb tikka masala, and chicken vindaloo. Everything was pretty good. Some of the tandoori meat was kinda dry but I do want to give the tandoori shrimp a special shout out. It was so good! But perhaps what’s best about this place is something I’ll probably never experience…$ 10LUNCHBUFFET!!! I live/work entirely way too far from here but if you work around the area, eat some for me will ya???

Moksha Kitchen struggles from inconsistent service and food. At their best, their food is plate-licking good. I mean, their Chicken Tikka Masala is truly the BEST I’ve had in a restaurant in Metro-Atlanta. However, I have bitten into chicken bone fragments in my curry on two separate visits. Unacceptable. On one visit, I tried the bullet naan, when they apparently had a new cook in the kitchen. I paid the price as it was covered so heavily with cayenne pepper seeds that it was rendered inedible. I can handle spicy food, in fact I love spicy food — but this was ridiculous. Their other naans(butter and garlic) are average. Aside from Chicken Tikka Masala, I’ve tried their Mulligatawny Soup, Butter Chicken, and Chicken Vindaloo… all were pretty good, but I’ve had better. The service can range from average to grossly incompetent. On one visit, we stood at the host station for nearly five minutes without being noticed or greeted. We turned around and ate somewhere else. I may continue to do business with Moksha Kitchen because their Chicken Tikka Masala really is that good, but I may opt for take-out to avoid their spotty service.
