Do I order the $ 5.99 Lunch special or the $ 8.99 Bento box? I had the ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT-SUSHI-BUT-YOU-MUST-CUSTOM-ORDER-FROM-THE-CHEF deal for $ 9.99. Wow! Tuna, Fatty Tuna and Salmon were off the charts! Cali roll, tuna roll and seafood roll were OK to good. The Caribbean roll was crunchy and flavorful, with avocado wrapped around it. Super nice. If you want all you can eat, there is NOBUFFET Restaurant in the area that can match the quality. They tend to serve with too much rice, paper thin fish, or very bland rolls. Actually, one that comes close is Seaya’s Restaurant in Suwanee. But I prefer dinner @ Seaya. Guess where I’ll be for lunch, if I’m in the NE area?

Where to begin? The sushi I had for lunch was mediocre, at best. One roll wouldn’t stay together no matter what I tried and the other featured some sort of mess labeled as a «mixed seafood» topping that I’m still not sure qualified as such. Coworker #1 of mine had similar issues with the rolls he ordered as well. Coworker #2 ordered a chicken entrée that, according to him, tasted as bland as it looked. Subpar food is not generally enough to send me running to Unilocal immediately following my return to the office. What occurred next IS… We had received a coupon for 50% one lunch meal when purchased in conjunction with another. The waitress came by to inquire about our checks and I asked if the coupon was valid for our meals(Coworker #1 and I) since it was sushi. She said that yes, it qualified. When she returned, however, she had not based the coupon on our separate orders. She had taken the two cheapest things on our ticket(neither or which were our actual lunches) and discounted those each by 50%. While annoying and slightly shady, I feel, this is still not the straw that broke the camel’s back. Then I notice that she has added gratuity to our check. Our check for TWO people. On top that — the gratuity is for MORETHAN20%. Now, our waitress had done a fine job, service-wise, and I’m a former waitress myself, so her tip most likely would have been 20%. But to prematurely ADD the tip yourself? On a bill for TWO people?! ANDTOHAVETHEAUDACITYTODOMORETHAN20%?! Ridiculous. Shady. BADBUSINESS. I will not return to Kiku Hana. There are too many other delicious, HONEST locations in the Sugarloaf/Satellite area that offer the same options and do it WELL.
