Food here is always pretty awesome. I’ve never been disappointed.

This is definitely one of the best gastropub restaurants I have been to in a while. Everything about this place was great. The ambiance, the service, and of course, the food. I came here with my fiancé for dinner on a Saturday. Of course, there was a wait, but we elected to sit in the heated patio area. Our server was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. My fiancé ordered the lettuce wrap burger, and I ordered the black and bleu. Both were cooked perfectly and have tons of flavor. We had fries(amazing) and a side of jalapeño corn grits. That was my favorite! I definitely recommend this place to anyone on the fence about it. I will definitely be returning here soon as well.

I swung by here after errands to get a bite. I previously visited a few months back but even back then their service was stellar. The wait staff was so attentive and welcome to offer suggestions and really gel with the customers. I was pleasantly surprised to see the wait staff was just as friendly this time around. Our drinks were brought to us immediately and they were also refilled throughout our dining experience in an orderly fashion aka they were actually refilled before it was just ice and nothing more. I ordered the Marlow’s Melt and my friend ordered the Fish Tacos. Both were extremely delicious and satisfying. I couldn’t finish my sandwich but the wait staff graciously packaged it to go on my behalf and even wrote the food name and date on the box so I would remember. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and would definitely recommend my friends to eat here and I myself will definitely return at a later date.

I liked this place based on the awesome service. Lots of beer on tap and plenty of people there to make it fun. The food was just ok for me but I was looking for beer and atmosphere.

This is surprisingly good bar food. Nice clean modern low lit tavern type atmosphere… Service was decent with attentive staff. The menu was typical of a tavern with a good selection of burgers etc. We tried the sea food bisque, which was very tasty. I don’t see it on the on line menu, so it would be disappointing if it is no longer offered. I also had a salad which is often a good test to see how careful a tavern prepares their food. Marlow’s passes with fresh crisp ingredients that are carefully cut/sliced/selected/etc. We stopped by after a movie and would recommend it for any casual dining need while in the area… as long as you understand that this is simply surprisingly good bar food and not fine dining. just to be clear, I would rate it higher than a chain like a Chili’s or Applebee’s with for food and atmosphere. UPDATE: I just got a note from Marlow’s manager. The menu does change with the availability of seasonal items, so the bisque will likely be back later. I consider it a really good sign that management is concerned enough about their customers to promptly respond to reviews, etc. Great place to go next time you are in the area and looking for a step up from the chain restaurants, stop in.

I was expecting just a Tavern, but what I got was a great locally sourced dinner with a very pleasant staff. I will definitely be back.

Both the food and atmosphere are fabulous. We ordered the Black and Blue Burger and an Open face Turkey Sandwich for lunch. Yummo! In addition to the amazing food, the customer service is the best I’ve seen in a while. Our server, the manager, and everyone around is thorough and eager to help. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Heard about Marlow’s and decided to give it a try. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the hostess. It was a little packed so we sat in their heated patio area. The waitress was great. I had to get the fish tacos and I’m so glad I did because they were great! The fries were a little over cooked but I still ate them(can’t waste food lol). Their pomegranate martini was good as well, it was way more juice then alcohol so depending on your alcohol preference this may or may not work for you. Overall a great experience and will be going back again.

Marlows’s is one of our favorite restaurants in the area. We often meet another couple here for dinner. The only downside is that it gets busy, and there can be a long wait for a table. In several of those circumstances, we sat at the bar for dinner and enjoyed great service by the bar staff. The food, drinks and service are consistently good. The atmosphere is nice, but sometimes a bit too loud for conversation. If it is a nice evening, we have enjoyed sitting outside. Moderately priced spot on my list for a date night or a business lunch.

Even for a Tuesday they’re really busy! I didn’t think I was gonna be seated right away when I first walked in. But there was no wait. The server was very attentive and it looked like they work in partners because another server came by my table to take care of us as well. Both servers were very sweet. I ordered the black & blue burger $ 11, with a side of truffle fries! Absolutely delicious! I usually don’t go for burgers at restaurants like Marlow’s Tavern, but seeing pictures just made me drool. The black & blue burger consists of applewood smoked bacon, gorgonzola, with a toasted brioche bun. Truffle fries with truffle oil and fresh parmesan. I have no complaints for this place, if you have not been here, please do. Also order the truffle fries. It is to die for!

If you find yourself in an office park in Duluth, GA then this is the spot for you. With not many other options close to our hotel we found this bustling Tavern and were pleasantly surprised. Very friendly staff — welcoming to new comers and happy to explain the extensive menu options. Ordered a Blueberry Buck cocktail — strong and sweet with a ginger bite to it. Got the infamous fish tacos — good flour tortillas, lightly blackened tilapia, avocado and lettuce. They had so many sides to choose from but — when in the South — I went with the creamy cheesy crusted grit cakes. Great choice! Also ordered the famous bread pudding for dessert. The pudding was actual slices of a baguette richly drenched in caramel pudding. Delish! Nice patio to sit out on as it is pretty noisy inside.

I have eaten here twice this month, though prior to that it had been a couple of years since I’d been. Our daughter(teen) didn’t find much of interest on the menu. Lately, we had dinner with another couple and a work lunch outing, and both went well. The burgers and salads are both good here. I also liked the fact that the have fried okra as a side(and I like the fact that the ‘sides’ are listed up the side /margin of the menu — nice touch!). The beer /wine /cocktail menu is decent as well. Others in the respective groups I was with had a variety of other dishes and no one had any complaints. I’d expect to return here.

Always see if Glenn is bartending. He is the best. I ordered the Gumbo(ends March 30) and dad got their Infamous Fish Tacos. Excellent as always. Drinks are great. I get their Skinny Ginger Margarita and Bloody Mary’s.

I stopped here for a quick lunch on my work break. I sat and the bar, and the bartender was friendly and attentive right away, which is perfect when you need to get back to work as quickly as possible. I ordered the cheese grit cakes and chick pea fries. It was a lot of fried food but they both just looked so good! The food came out quickly and did not disappoint. The chick pea fries were soft and delicious with an aioli sauce, and the grit cakes were perfect. Their flavor was spot on, and the scallions on top gave them a great finalizing taste. I was able to close out quickly, and the bartender had great timing along with a nice personality.

Marlow’s is the best thing in a LARGE radius around the Sugarloaf area. The dark & trendy atmosphere + a menu that looks like some actual thought was put into it makes it a real standout in Duluth. I really like their lunch menu, particularly the fish tacos. They taste fresh and delicious and don’t weigh you down for hours afterward. I usually get with a side of a few huge stalks of asparagus that are lightly seasoned. I went recently for happy hour. They have 3 cocktails and 2 wines all for $ 5 a glass — which I don’t think is that stellar of a happy hour. I would love to see some beers on the HH menu as well. My berry cooler was OK but lacked any real(non juice/syrup) flavor and really took me back to my college days. I promptly switched to beer and was pleased to discover they offer local taps outside of what is listed on their menu, including my local favorite Wild Heaven– try the Ode to Mercy! Most of the apps on their menu weren’t super happy hour friendly, in terms of price nor sharing ability. We had the truffle fries and while they were okay to snack on, it felt like wasted calories. I wouldn’t order again. Marlow’s is crazy popular. For lunch, if you’re not there before 11:55pm you’re out of luck for a quick bite. For happy hour and dinner, you should be prepared to wait, even if it’s a short period of time. The space they have is very small and fills up quickly. They have limited options for handling groups over 4 which include: sitting you on the patio, squeezing you into their only large booth, or shoving some bar tables together. That being said — come with a buddy or two but no more than that. Even their bar can be tough to get a seat at, and all the chairs seem cramped together. The service is extremely hit or miss which — along with the potential of a wait — is why I don’t come here more often. They don’t have enough space to have a host stand, nor do they generally have a dedicate host that I can tell, and when you walk in there is very little space between the door and the wall they consider the host stand. It’s really awkward. I hate going to restaurants without someone to greet me immediately — what am I supposed to do? Just stand here? Seat myself? What if there is a line of people to talk to the host(not uncommon)? Just an unprofessional start. The servers can be hot and cold — the folks I’ve encountered recently have been fantastic, but I’ve also been subject to long waits between visits to the table, empty water glasses, etc. It’s a great option in the area, but it doesn’t check all of my boxes particularly for happy hour. Worth a shot!
