Disappointed in everything this time. Go here every few months and this time our sever was clueless. Our server didn’t bring us water after we asked, didn’t offer to take my margarita back when I mentioned that there’s no salt on the rim, and the chips and salsa had zero taste. Don’t order food– what is likely to be their saving grace. But Great ambiance, view, and love everything about the Fitgers complex. Will think twice before bringing out of town guests here again.

Guacamole had a translucent gelatinous mystery ingredient, we sent it back and asked for the bean dip that was actually cheese sauce with some bean like substance floating in it. Salsa was a little ketchup like. Enchilada Verde sauce was watery and soaked into the tortilla to make the consistency quite interesting. On the positive side the Dos Equis was great unfortunately we didn’t drink enough of it to make the meal better. We would suggest Little Angie’s Cantina for anyone looking for Mexican in Duluth.

Little weird to walk up to the back of the greeter — she was sitting at a desk reading a novel. Fast initial approach from our waitress, then she disappeared for 25 minutes. Food was, well, a step below the service. Do not recommend this place.

Wonderful view of the lake yesterday! Try the guac, it’s very good. Our two entrees were generous. We thought the price was very fair for a great meal and great view.

Confused host staff(«I remember my first time being high…») and dingy atmosphere. Great patio that just needs legit tables and some paint not to look shabby as f$&@k. Nothing authentic about the food. And there was a goddamn bowl in our chips! Haha.

Okay first off, it took our waiter twenty minutes to bring us our drinks, just for the record the restraunt was a pig pen. We ordered vegetarian enchiladas beef tacos and chicken nuggets and fries for my son. First off my wife’s vegetarian enchiladas were oozing with ground beef and she stormed out of the restraunt. I was with my son and he was about to take a bite out of his fry but I notice metal shards in them and he went out with his mom. No complaints on my tacos only reason for the 1 star, besides the fact I had too give it a star, was that the restraunt did not charge me anything.

GREAT views from back deck. Kid friendly. Awesome lunch specials and 99cent margs(though small) hit the spot.

The deck and view of the lake is amazing and they pour a stiff drink. We ordered the chicken quesadilla appetizer and two cocktails. When the quesadilla arrived it was lacking lettuce or tomato or guacamole. It appeared to be just chicken and cheese. The chicken is canned chicken with no seasoning. We enjoyed our drinks and the view then left. The things written previously about cleanliness are apparent also. But as I stated before, the view is amazing.

Aztecas has better food! But the drinks here are good. And the view outside is amazing and to be outside when it’s warm is the best but if you want great Mexican food… Go elsewhere.

It’s sad that this place recieves such bad reviews. Our experience has been nominal at best. This place should be a gold mine for the owners, if they hired an experienced Chef, that can get a hold of the cooking staff and teach them, and hold them accountable for what they are making. Some level of authenticity, scale down the menu, or simply bring a new food concept. The place has one of the best views of the lake with the inside, and the deck. I

If you are used to good Mexican food don’t stop here. If you want margaritas keep walking. It just was not even close to what I’m used to.

Everything’s too salty and they don’t know how to make a real margarita without green dye and corn syrup.

Great lunch menu prices. Lunch specials and drinks(beer and margaritas) only $ 20 for wife and I. Great view of the lake from patio. Food was good enough for Minnesota Mexican. Would definitely recommend and come again.

Well, there was a new host working at Mexico Lindo this week. We thought this would be a positive step, since we have had such bad experiences with the host the last few times we have been here. Well, the new one wasn’t much better. When we arrived, she mentioned the wait would be close to an hour. As we waited, we noticed that there were plenty of tables open in the bar. We asked if we could sit in there. Her response was that we could not. So, we waited some more. After over 20 people left the restaurant, we(2 of us) asked if we would be able to be seated fairly soon… she said she didn’t know. Several people who arrived and put their names on the list after us were brought into the restaurant to be seated. When we asked about this, she said that she wasn’t sure if we still wanted to eat there, so she put the other people ahead of us on the list. She said that she couldn’t put us ahead of the people who had gotten there after us, because she would get in trouble. What? Anyways, once the restaurant was only about 1⁄3 full, they found some space for the two of us. We asked if we could be seated in the section of one of the servers who always does a great job. She said that his section was full and there were no tables available, which was no problem… just thought we would ask in case there was room in that section. Once we were seated and our drinks were ordered, one of our favorite servers came over from his section to chat with us. We mentioned that we requested to be in his section, but they said no. His response«Why?!» I said, «She said that your section was full.» His response(with a confused look): «It’s not full. I only have 2 tables!» He pointed over to his section, and yep… almost completely empty. The server we did have was excellent. She was very friendly, attentive, and efficient. I ordered something different(which I usually try to do because everything I have had there has been great), but unfortunately, this time it was just ok. I guess my streak of trying something new and having it be awesome had to end sometime. I’ll just have to go for something new or try one of my old favorites next time!

Why is it whenever I come here I feel like I’m doing them a disservice for just walking in the door? On my last trip to Duluth we came twice… Stop 1) The host was on the phone and did not once look up to acknowledge our existence. I understand you are busy, but at least let us know you saw us and let us know you will be right with us. Then another employee came to the host stand to take a gander at the seating chart. Also did not say anything to our group. We finally had to ask him for help — then he proceeded to try and get the hosts attention to which the host replied rather angrily«I’M ONTHEPHONEGIVINGDIRECTIONS» We finally were sat on the patio — probably the absolute SAVINGGRACE of Mexico Lindo. One of the best seats in Duluth. It is hard to beat having a meal overlooking Lake Superior. The food at Mexico Lindo is OK, there isn’t much for good Mexican food in the area. They give you plenty of free chips and salsa(or we like to call it tomato sauce) — not a lot of flavor. Adding some hot sauce helps. The rest of the food is fine, would I eat it again? Yes… would I write home about it? No. Stop 2) SAME host. He looked like he could have died when we told them there would be 5 adults and 2 kids. I would understand the stress if the restaurant had been busy. But at 5pm on a Sunday the place was practically empty. Maybe be happy for the business? When we were finally sat someone brought us chips and salsa(tomato sauce) :) when I said thank you — the guy just glared at me. SORRY! When a server walked by, he glanced at the table and said«well… I guess I can help you» You guess? Yikes. Food this trip: My sister ordered nachos… she got chips and cheese. Maybe she ordered wrong, but the server didn’t even try to up sell her on toppings. Needless to say she wasn’t expecting such a sad display of a little plate of chips and melted cheese. So I shared my food with her. The chili relleno I ordered was pretty good. The 4 year old of the group loved his burger — so that’s positive. My recommendation: Don’t come here with more than 4 people, sit outside, order a margharita, enjoy the view, don’t expect much from food or service.

For a Mexican restaurant in Duluth, I was expecting utter crap. This place is just as passable as any other Amero-Mexican food place in small-to-medium town USA and comes with great views of the lake and the lift bridge. Drinks were pretty cheap as well. Finally, as horrible as it may sound, I give a place in this part of the country more credence for having Mexican dudes in the kitchen rather than the sad-but-true stereotype of a kitchen full of Norwegians making the food.

We were driving through Duluth and had a craving for Mexican… to be honest, there really isn’t a lot to choose from in the area. Our original selection was closed on Sundays, so we opted for this joint. It is your average mexican food – nothing too out of the ordinary – I’ve had much better, but, I’m sure it could be worse. My husband and I each ordered the steak tacos, and they were pretty good – the seasoning was decent, and we added a side of sour cream just to jazz it up a bit. The other plus here is just as others have stated: the view. We were fortunate to be seated outside and it was a glorious Sunday afternoon. I appreciated being able to watch people as poor at skipping rocks as I am. The downside… the lack of cleanliness. I am not usually one of those high-maintenance types about having everything be 5-star restaurant white tablecloths and such… but this place was pretty filthy.(See photo of table for proof). Food stuck to various parts of the tables… bird poop here and there… really unappetizing. If they would just give that deck/patio area a solid power-washing, they would be in good shape. In summary: if you go to Mexico Lindo… it’s «asi, asi.»
