I have now been here three times & I love this quaint restaurant. We love Angie, the waitress. Her level of service never wavers. We can’t wait until more people start coming here & give them the buisness they deserve.

So I like to think I have had sushi food all over the world, but nothing quite compares to Sushi Toshi, their food is by far amazing. Served hot and fresh, their Sushi is Impeccable, the service is awesome everyone there is nice and helpful. I think they changed their name, i was passing by and noticed their sign had changed but regardless the food is still amazing. I highly recommend Sushi Toshi

Formally known as Mr. Sushi! You can find it in the small shopping center behind Target. I’ve been coming here for a while and I love it! The owners are extremely nice and helpful! There is one waitress on the floor so when it gets busy there might be a slow wait! When I came in it was slightly busy but regardless we got our drinks and food in great time! I love the lunch special. You get to pick 2 entrees for around $ 10, it also comes with miso soup and house salad. They’re not very huge portions but with soup, salad, and 2 entrees you definitely leave full and satisfied! Definitely would recommend. I got the Space Shuttle Roll and Chicken Fried Rice, both were very good. I believe the chicken fried rice is pretty popular(would recommend) and it comes with yum yum sauce!(there’s a reason why it’s called yum yum). If you’re in the area looking for a place to eat, this place is a great choice! Can’t beat a family run restaurant with good service and good food.

My friend and I are lifelong patrons of Sushi Café Toshi, so much so that it has become a weekend tradition years in the making. The best part about this establishment was our wonderful waitress, Angie. She knew us by name and by our orders. She never once messed up any order. It has also come to our attention that it has been recently been sold to new owners. We went to go check it out tonight and discovered that Angie no longer works there, and the name is being changed to Mr. Sushi. The new waitress was inconsistent, and messed up our order in two ways: while we ordered two small beers and two waters, we were brought two large beers(a full $ 3.50 more) and never received any waters. Our meals were also brought at vastly separate times so I either had to be rude and start eating, or wait until it gets cold. Also the menu looks the same, but the food tastes completely different. 10⁄10 would not recommend(anymore).

One of my favorite spots. I’ve been a customer since 2008. I usually get it to go now a days. The staff is great and personable. They can probably see my face and know what I’m going to order. The location is small and intimate. If you have small kids, it’s probably not the best place. My daughters are in middle and high school and they loved it. The lunch special is out of this world(miso soup, salad, order of sushi, and entrée) at $ 8. Although I hear that some of the other items on the menu are good, I can’t help but order the chicken fried rice each and every time.

I love Sushi Café Toshi. The sushi is always really good, and the lunch special is amazing. for $ 10(including tip) you can get a small ginger salad, miso soup, california rolls, and 2 entrees in their bento box. Entrees include sushi, sashimi, teriyaki, and other things I never get. For a dollar less, there’s a sushi roll and a rice/noodle dish. The sodas are too expensive, and come in a can, so get either water or hot tea. Also, the sushi for the bento box has recently had some wasabi or spice added, so it has a bit of a kick. The dining room is really small, but it’s nice and quiet which makes it a great lunch location.

For the quality and the amount of food this place will be hard to beat for lunch. My meal was under $ 9, and was extremely good. Half a roll, salad and a hot dish. This place was very good. Service was polite and quick. Highly recommend, will definitely be coming back no question

Great Lunch Deals! I try to go there every chance I get. The sushi rolls are good too. California eel and Rock’n rolls are my best picks.

By far the best sushi joint in the area!!! They are average priced. However their lunch special is the best deal! They’re a little hole in the wall joint, but don’t let that fool you! I recommend this place, even if you have to drive a little extra!

Been trying out a lot of sushi places around the Johns Creek/Alpharetta area an stumbled upon here. Not very spacious as far as dining tables go. Walked in to multiple groups of high school kids who all ordered the fried rice… seriously, every one of them had it so it must be good. The ginger salad was a generous portion and the dressing was a little different but still good. Ordered a number of sushi rolls and needless to say, if you don’t eat sushi often/don’t like the fishy taste this is your place. Way too much rice stuffed in the rolls. The ones rolled in seaweed were hardened and tough to get thru. All in all, probably will not be returning here.

I stopped the same week as I first saw it wondering if Toshi was the same Toshi who was an assistant at my once-upon-a-time favorite, Arai, He wasn’t. Was I at the same restaurant as everyone else? It was a Saturday night. When I arrived there were two small groups at tables and the bar was empty. I was the only one at the bar. The chef did not say one word to me the whole evening. He was obviously more interested in the TV behind him even though the sports channel he was watching wasn’t playing anything in particular. The single waitress took my order. She was pleasant, but when the tables filled up later in the evening, she was spread too thin. The fish in the cooler were small and not particularly varied, which was echoed in the Chirashi I ordered. The pieces were literally the size of postage stamps and there were not many of them which really showed in the over-sized plain black plastic bowl they were served in. Another customer finally sat at the bar, but he was getting a to-go order and the waitress summarily ordered him to the other end of the bar. All in all, not particularly pleasant nor inviting. .

Sushi Café Toshi is now slowly becoming a favorite for a quick Japanese food craving. Remembering the reasonable prices, I returned again today during the lunch hour. This time, there were about seven or eight tables other than us. Still, the service was quick and helpful and food yummy. My mom opted for the Lunch Special($ 7.95) which included salad with ginger dressing, miso soup, a pick from the kitchen, and a roll or selection of nigiri. She chose to have the spicy california roll and udon. Craving something simple, I ordered the tekka don — slices of tuna sashimi over seasoned sushi rice($ 9.50? or $ 9.95?). The udon and tekka don came first. The waitress was extremely helpful and even brought us extra bowls and spoons to share the udon without us asking. I only had a sample of my mom’s udon, but the soup was tasty. Not too heavy on soy with a slight fish broth flavor. I wish the noodles were a bit firmer, but by no means were they overcooked. The udon came topped with nori and two types of fish cakes. My tekka don came with eight slices of tuna, three small slices of avacado, and the standard daikon, gari, and wasabi. While the tuna last time was good, but nothing special, this time it was extremely yummy. Just the right amount of fattiness for maguro, slightly firm but still melty, and a very smooth mouthfeel. The only downfall is that I feel like the chirashi don than the tekka don. It is about a dollar cheaper and came with a side of goma wakame and chashu. Also, while the rice was definitely better seasoned in the tekka don than the chirashi don, I missed the slight warmth the chirashi don rice had. My mom really enjoyed the rice though and kept on picking at mine, haha. I didn’t taste any of the spicy california roll, but my mom said that she really enjoyed it and that it was on par with Haru Ichiban’s california rolls. It looked like a decent value though — not overstuffed with rice, a generous amount of crab, and topped with tobiko. Once again, I am very satisfied with my meal. It’s affordable prices and close proximity to home means that I’ll definitely be back soon! I’ve been eyeing the sashimi lunch or the una don, hehehe.

Decent sushi, decent prices, and it always seems fresh. The lunch prices are reasonable. The service, though, is a bit rough… if you’re there when the waitress is having a bad day, you’ll know it!

Really sad to write this but the food has gone way down hill. I just ate there tonight and really struggled to eat the food I ordered. It wasn’t nearly the as fresh as it used to be and the rice was dry and almost crunchy. This has happened the last two times I have gone. On top of it I have sushi stomach/nausea to boot. I really hope they recover from this because this was my favorite sushi place for a long time. However, I don’t think I’ll be back any time soon.

Pretty standard selection of very fresh fish, generous portions, and really great service, very attentve. Nothing rare or hard to find here, but the quality you get for the price makes this a nice casual sushi restaurant when you’r not trying to impress anyone.

There are so many places I like to go eat that I hate how long it can go between visits to Sushi Café Toshi. Angie always remembers my boyfriend and I though, which is awesome considering when we started going there would rarely be any other people in there. Now usually we can’t even sit at the sushi bar because it’s full and at least half the tables are taken. That is definitely not a complaint, I’m glad to see them busy! And even with all the tables, it never really feels like service is spotty. Sometimes sushi is tough around the Atlanta area as a whole if you’re not spending some serious cash; it can be very hit and miss. I’ve been coming here for at least 2 years and there is only one time I had questionable tasting fish, and it was only one of the tuna rolls. There wasn’t a problem getting it taken off the bill, either. One of my favorite things here is Yumi’s roll, one of those evilly inauthentic tempura fried rolls. It is evil and delicious. I also really like the chicken tempura roll, but spicy tuna is my favorite. Overall there is nothing that really stands out, but for the price and the fact that it is more than edible, I enjoy it. Sadly, this place is about to become one of those places we will probably rarely go to now that my boyfriend’s moving out of the area. I imagine we’ll go every so often, but I’ll miss it.

The only reason we keep coming back because of great service from Angie, the waitress. She’s always been very helpful recommending new dishes, sushi rolls or Sashimi. Toshi, the owner always seems to be in a bad mood every time we came. Must be long day at work hahaha… ^*^ We’re always welcomed by Angie with smile and greetings. The sushi rolls and sashimis are at par. Sushi nami in Alpharetta is much better, but the best one we think is MF Magic Fingers Atlanta.

I’ve been a regular at Sushi Café Toshi for about two years now since it’s so close to work. The staff is friendly. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Their lunch menu rocks! For $ 8 you get a small salad, a soup, a plate of sushi and a hot dish!!! You would think the quality would suffer when you get so much for so little but you couldn’t be more wrong! The sushi is tasty and made fresh and the fish filets in the hot meals are fantastic. For dinner, you can order two or three rolls and be stuffed. Two people can easily eat for under $ 20 and go home happy. The only downside is to the place is that they can be understaffed during heavy traffic. Somtimes from 11:30 — 12:30 there are lots of guests and only one waitress. Dinner is usually very efficiently managed.
