This place is really Awesome! Everything is fresh. Great Sandwhiches, Soups and Quiche… not to mention the bakery. The sugar cookies are our favorites! Decently priced for this homemade quality mom and pop you gotta check out.

I don’t usually do this — giving verdict on first paragraph of the review. But consider this as TLDR version. Patio Café is one of the best week-day lunch experience I have had in recent years for such an affordable price! When I say experience, I meant in relation with price range, service and food! The Patio Café & Bakery opened it’s doors not too long ago at the same complex as Sichuan House, Panera and Home depot. I know it’s a big complex but to locate it — it’s closer to the Sichuan house. If you are coming from pleasant hill rd and medlock bridge intersection, then take right on first light after crossing the intersection. You will see it right away, straight ahead. Since their opening it has been steadily gaining popularity among locals, which can be witnessed by showing up at lunch time. You will see long line of people waiting to order food, either for pick up or to dine there. Don’t get discouraged by long lines here — go ahead and join the line, you won’t be disappointed. They have very simple no nonsense décor inside. It’s fairly large inside, with number of tables and chairs and I think it can easily seat some 50 patrons at a time. So you go in, join the line, put in your order, pay for it and get your number. Then find a table and wait — food will come looking for you! I am very IMPRESSED by their SERVICE — I mean, they always have long lines during peak lunch time but never once I have seen a grumpy face or rushed service from employees who takes orders. They are extremely patient and treated me like they are more than happy to accommodate my diet needs. That’s amazing to pull off with such long lines and also such affordable price point. That brings us to the MENU — they don’t have printed out menu as far as I know but you absolutely cannot miss the black board full of menu items just above the counter. If you are new, there are so much to look at and make up your mind — I find the long lines help to give you that time. They have wraps, salads, egg/chicken/tuna salad sandwiches, deli meat sandwiches, hot sandwiches, soups and combos! And they always have some Quiche as well. I have summarized their menu in two lines but don’t mistake — they have extensive list of items on each category! And not to mention their baked goods — cupcakes, cookies, scones, meringues — you name it they have it! And for PORTIONSIZE, lets just say that whatever you order you won’t leave hungry. For example, I ordered their ‘The Favorite’ from the combo section for $ 7.95. Let me list what I got with that. A cup of soup(I asked for chicken noodle) with roll, three finger sandwich(Pimento cheese, chicken salad, cucumber cream cheese), a fruit cup, one mini-muffin with pink sauce.(All plates comes with complimentary mini-muffin) All this for just $ 7.95!!! In fact, the expensive item in their menu is $ 8.95! The soup was comforting and tasty! And as for those finger sandwiches, they were good enough but not nothing to write home about. But the point here price-taste ratio is excellent! I have also tried their pastrami with sauerkraut on rye — it was again a solid and I really liked the pungency of Sauerkraut(if you are into it). VEGETARIAN? VEGAN? Yeah, they got you covered. Food allergies? Let them know, they have some for you as well. They also have BAKEDGOODS that you can order with lunch(or light dinner) — it ranges from $.75 to $ 1.95 — again everything super affordable and some of the items are surprisingly good. It’s not going to give some top-notch bakeries run for their money, but they are blurring the lines close with their price point. Everything is baked and made in-house for most part, I was told. They are also open until 8 pm on weekdays — so that you can take care your health and eat light for dinner as well on weekdays. They are closed on Sundays and open only until 4 pm on saturdays. At the end of the day I am happy for a local restaurant that gets service, price and food right. To me, it’s not always just about food taste — it’s the experience that’s important and at what price point. Considering all this, 5 well deserved stars.

I have passed this place many, many times without ever thinking to stop in. After seeing reviews on Unilocal I decided to give it a try. Overall, I was satisfied with the food and service. It is a sandwich/soup kind of place with decent options and fair pricing. The inside is spacious and there is also an outdoor seating area as well. I will say that the cornbread here was delicious. They also sell some pastries and cookies, but I did not have space for dessert. It seemed like most customers had call-in orders as there were only two other people in the restaurant dining-in. I believe they also make refrigerated casseroles and such for an alternative to microwaved lunch trays. Quiet restaurant with decent food is the best way to sum this place up.

Great spot. Although nothing quite uncommon or extremely spectacular. They have a wonderful assortment of sandwiches and soups. I ordered a Tomato and Avacado Sandwich and it was spot on. They also have a good selection of baked goods that were impossible to resist. From my understanding, they also bake cakes for special occasions, might be something worth remembering down the line. The atmosphere leaves a little something to be desired, and yet fits the name of the establishment quite well. It has a patio kind of feel. Like most places in the area, it’s a little bit on the pricy side, but it’s also quite cozy and a local gem if you’d like an alternative to a big chain like Panera. This place can definitely stand its own. Eat local, friends.

Ordered a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting for a party. It was delicious and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The cake was perfectly moist! Also had the avocado and tomato sandwich for lunch and it was great. Was happy to see that they didn’t skimp on the avocado.

Cute place for lunch. You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. In addition to yummy sandwiches and homemade soups, they offer quiche and an assortment of delightful bakery treats(cupcakes, cookies, petite fours, cake). They have ample seating and the cashier seemed friendly.

I love this bakery café. Was thinking of ordering a cake for my son’s 5 birthday party but before ordering decided to try their baked goods to see if they were truly homemade or «home baked» from mixes. I had several of their baked goods and loved it all. The coca cola cake was moist and tasted just like my grandmothers. Petit fours, cupcakes, and frosted cookies were all very good too. Freshly made and cheaper than most cupcakeries. After sampling and pleased with a variety of the baked goods, I decided to order my son’s birthday cake. The cake came out exactly as I had expected and tasted delicious. I would highly recommend! Gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I’ve never actually ordered food here… only have had their baked goods.

They have the BEST egg salad sandwiches in town, and the little muffins that they add to every dish are yummy. I would highly recommend this if you are in the area… it’s right beside Target.

We went here with a Groupon today. As mentioned by another reviewer, if you aren’t shopping at Home Depot, you might miss this place. It’s off to the side of Home Depot, so while they do indeed have a «patio,» the views of the parking lot aren’t all that atmospheric. The sandwiches we chose(a Cuban and a Reuben) were both very good. I think the prices are pretty much in line with what you’d expect($ 7-$ 8 per sandwich). It’s in a pretty nice neighborhood, so the locals are probably fine lunching here regularly. The dessert selection is above average, and the toffee brownie we tried was very good, though it was more like a cake than a brownie.

Got the hot roast beef sandwich and SO got the chicken wrap. Both were delicious and generously dressed. Not stingy with the meat like most other sandwich places in Atlanta. The dessert cupcakes were outstanding, had to save them for later as the sandwiches were so big and satisfying. And reasonably priced.

I enjoyed a decently priced lunch here courtesy of a Groupon, otherwise I might not have known about this place. It’s tucked away in a shopping center and easy to miss. For my entrée, I decided to try the hot roast beef(roast beef, Provolone cheese, lettuce, sliced tomato, Ranch grilled on hoagie). At first bite, it was delicious. But as I continued, things went downhill as the roast beef became fattier and fattier. It was incredibly difficult to chew and generally, well, disgusting. So the sandwich itself was very bad in that regard. My husband enjoyed his California Special(oven roasted turkey, Provolone cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, creamy mustard dressing served on open faced marbled rye), and I wish I’d ordered that myself. Both entrees arrived with tiny lemon-poppy seed muffins that were quite tasty. My meal was also accompanied by tasty chips(though I suspect they came from a bag). My husband’s meal arrived with a side of fruit instead and he seemed to enjoy it, although a little freaked out by the Pepto-colored dipping sauce. The best part of the meal was dessert. Husband enjoyed a double fudge cupcake(chocolate cake with chocolate icing) and I enjoyed a toffee crunch cupcake(yellow cake with white icing, toffee and caramel). Both were quite good, but mine still couldn’t make up for the fat-filled sandwich. All in all, it was nice to try something different but I’m not sure if we will return. I certainly wouldn’t order roast beef again.

This place was packed at lunch when I visited it. You order at the counter, get a number, and they bring the food to you. The menu has your typical deli/bakery flair. The dessert case looked really good. They had all sorts of cookies, brownies, and cupcakes. The food was pretty typical of a bakery café. I had a half roast beef sandwich with their Caribbean salad. My kids shared a grilled cheese sandwich. The toffee brownie was really good. The M&M cookie I bought for my kid was really gross. It tasted like there was too much baking soda or something. She had two bites of it and stopped. I thought it was odd that she was passing on the cookie until I tasted it. I guess this is a decent non-chain local bakery café.

The purpose of my visit today was to satisfy my craving for an iced sugar cookie. I wanted it to have a fun shape, cute decoration, soft, etc. And my ice cream cone shaped cookie did match these requirements… however, when I got back to my office and prepared to dig in I noticed it felt really small. Like thin. Like Calista Flockhart in that Abby McBeal show thin. I took a bite and holy sugar! The icing was thicker than the cookie! I felt like I was eating a batch of frosting. Where’s the cookie? It was virtually non-existent beneath the icing. Gross. Cookie fail. They get 2 stars because the girl at the counter was really sweet. Cookies get NO stars.

I usually come here for lunch since it’s so close to my work. Keep in mind that stay-at-home moms flood this place at lunchtime too. FOOD: I had the taco salad which is grilled chicken on top of shredded iceberg lettuce with tomatoes. It also comes with tortilla chips, a scoop of guacamole, and a small cup of salsa. It was ok. I usually get the BLT sandwich with a side of potato chips, which is very good. The food comes out fast and the service is great! Their bread is so soft. For dessert, I had a slice of their Oreo cake which is chocolate cake with white icing and a few Oreo cookies on top. Very tasty!
