You’d be hard pressed to find a better malt with a better view anywhere. And there are so many flavor combinations available!

This place is a great summer stop in Duluth. They are open seasonally and you walk up to the window to order your ice cream. They have HUGE malts in tons of flavors! All topped off with whip cream and a cherry!

Diabetes in a cup! But still the best. Locally made ice cream. Recommend the malts. Wide loves the strawberry cheese cake and the chocolate peanut butter. $ 6.95 for the malts big enough to share

We were passing by Duluth on the way back to Minneapolis from our little getaway at Beaver Bay. The Location of this place is perfect. Great view of Lake Superior. My hubby ordered the chocolate malt and I got the caramel malt. We both can’t figure out the difference between the two. The chocolate does not taste like chocolate and same with the caramel, it doesn’t taste like caramel. Both just taste like regular sugar. Period. I give them 3 stars because of the location and customer service. Maybe I’ll try their ice cream next time.

It’s just an ice cream place, no better or worse than any others. Seems like a tourist trap. For sure it’s expensive, two adults and two kids and we spent about $ 30.00. Same experience for us that other reviewers had in terms of the employees being pretty unfriendly. Lame to charge money for a cup of water after paying their prices.

I randomly found this ice cream place on my weekend trip to Duluth. The location is by the lake which is awesome to go for a walk with ice cream. I ordered the pecan ice cream in waffle cone. The taste is awesome!!! It is not too sweet and delicious. Hope I can come back.

First timer. I love dark chocolate malt. Perfect for those who doesn’t like vey sweet milkshake. Not too sweet. You can ask for peanutbutter dark chocolate malt but I didn’t because I am afraid of additional calories. I tried strawberry malt from my boyfriend but it was too sweet for me. Recommend this place. CASHONLY so make sure you take cash with you.

Loved this place. Got the peanut butter malt with moose tracks ice cream. Delicious. Definitely overpriced and a tourist trap but fun nonetheless. Great views out back.

It is a nice looking shop in a prime location. But they need to operate like a basic business and not the indecisive style they currently present. 1. Please decide on what your store hours are, get them posted correctly on all online locations. You even have a website, only dates. No hours. Zero sense. Of course you reserve the right to close early, that is understandable with Duluth’s weather conditions, how about a phone to the shop directly to call ahead and see if they’re open? This is not rocket science, it’s a malt shop. 2. We thought we were early, turns out they had five minutes left to close, but quickly stated they were only serving cones(Period, end of story). And with three young employees present how hard would it be to use-clean one machine? Answer: not that hard. See rocket science quote above. If your hours say you’re open, you serve your menu, if you cleaned the shake machines too soon that’s your fault dear employees. If «management» told you to 100% clean everything prior to actual closing time than its their poor management. They should auto-book in an allotment of cleaning time for employees once you officially close. Otherwise you’re simply wasting everyone’s time. And I hate to have my family’s time wasted. This place is quickly falling off a to-do list for Duluth. I would hope management is much more transparent for future potential customers about what and when their offerings truly are. Nice building.

Terrible. Was looking forward to this two nights in a row. The hours are wrong on Unilocal FYI. However when we came the workers were very rude and told us to leave immediately. Such a disappointing experience… Employees need an attitude change, no Minnesota nice here.

I used to live in Duluth for five years. There are a few places that I really miss and This is at the top of the list. There is no better malt in the world. Too many days in the summer we would order our malts or sundaes and then walk the board walk. I never cared about the price, it was worth every delicious and creamy penny! I really miss that!

Creamy vanilla ice cream and hot fudge make a sundae that’s tempting even on a cool, brisk evening. Love that you can grab a treat and then walk right down to the lakewalk.

Stopped in on a cold wet rainy night after dinner downtown. Cute location as it was a former gas station in the 40s and 50s. Staff seemed bored and un-attentive. Malt was good, but a little pricey. Will try again when I’m back in town.
