You get what you pay for. Do NOT recommend if you like cleanliness. Blanket on bed looks like it hasn’t been washed in weeks maybe months, human hair in it everywhere. Shower felt slimy under feet. Air quality terrible. Currently hoping I don’t get some sort of flesh-eating disease. Oh yeah and weird lumps all under carpeting in the room. Main point here, just pay the extra 20 dollars and stay somewhere acceptable. Sketchy parking lot /area as well.

When the question was posed, «Indoor or Outdoor Room?» was posed, I wasn’t picking up on the meaning. Translation —- Indoor, you park in the back and shuffle up to the 2nd floor of rooms. Outdoor, you park the car in the front, amounting to ten to fifteen total feet from a speedy and noise polluted Dumfries Road which runs perpendicular to I95. The plus to the Outdoor arrangement is having close proximity to your wheels. However, the minus would be a low count of weather stripping and sealant around the door, in wall air conditioner and windows — one feels like your sleeping on the median of the highway. Fortunately honking was never an issue, and oddly the sound of cars passing through my window, yes the feeling of Through not Past, had no negative side effects to my sleep as the NYer in me has grown accustomed to such sounds. Clean wishbone shaped room outfitted with a small kitchen, tall IGLOO refrigerator, large closet and ample sized bathroom and shower. Fairly priced at seventy nine clams a night which held top billing for the most economical hotel room for the night in Dumfries, VA. Trust me on that one, I called all five.

I am giving this location 1 star, not because they deserve it, but because I HAVETOGIVETHEMSOMETHING to leave a review. Our stay was quite unpleasant. It started when we pulled up and the man behind the counter continued to stay seated instead of getting his lazy butt up and greeting us!!! No greeting or smile. absolutely no customer service skills at all!!! We requested non smoking and they gave us a room that reeked of stale, old cigarette. It made me nauseated!!! We were gonna go back and ask for a refund and leave but we were so tired of traveling that we decided to stay. Then we entered through the back door to go to our room and didn’t even need to swipe the card we received at the window because the door was NOT locked. This is a very unsecured building and we definitely do not recommend that you stay here. Then they ONLY put the final cost on the receipt. There is no breakdown listing any discounts or subtotal or tax, JUST the total.

The flooring here allows you to play a cool game of «What’s underneath the carpet?». A pack of cigarettes? A rock? A softball? Make your guess, 5 per room then take your guesses to the front desk and tell them your room number. If you get 3 out of 5 right you get 10% off your bill and an «I guessed the lumps» bumper sticker!!!

Nice neat and noisy The Econo Lodge we stayed at in Dumfires, Va was a very pleasant place with extremely clean rooms that were obviously as soon as we opened the door. The room was surprisingly large and had a very nice bathroom as well as a little fridge and plenty of space to put our stuff. We ended up here unexpectedly because of the horrible traffic through the area. No problem, the people at the front desk were very pleasant and told us that things weren’t go to improve anything soon and that is was best to travel at night. A nice IHOP was right across the street as well a couple of other restaurants within walking distance. The only problem was all the traffic noise from the very busy street right by our room. Of course we were so tired that we didn’t notice but I could see how it could be a problem for some. The location is very convenient and we were back on I-95 in a few minutes. A pleasant and friendly place to spend some time.
