How this place is not on bar rescue us beyond me. This place is an embarrassment to a irish pub. We went in there the first time with just me and my wife and i swear the waitress was drunk amd more worried about entertaining her friends that where there. the next time we went was with a group of us and we where gonna go there and have irish car bombs. We went to the bar and not a single bartender walked over to us and we where at the bar!!! Only one step away but again they where to busy with there friends to make money. we eveb webt one more time the next weekend for a last chance the same thing happend, I was shocked. It seems like this is just a place for the staff to get drunk and party not a place of business to serve the people of dunedin. Walk buy it at night and you will see how this place isn’t near as full as the other bars in dunedin. I would not recommend this place theres alot better places to spend your money.

Cage O’ Hanlon rocks the spot. You’ve gotta get in here on a day that him or his band is playing. Fun times right there. Dude is talented, knows all the old Celtic folk songs, and is extremely interactive while performing. The beer selection is small, but effective. Yuengling, Killian’s, Guinness and Bud Light are frequently on tap while the others are usually rotating craft varieties. Also, unlike the so-called Irish pub in Safety Harbor, Flanagan’s has whisky. In fact, they have a full liquor bar, making it one of the few on Dunedin’s maim drag that does. Food is pretty good too. Last night, I woofed down some bangers & mash to the sound of The Wild Rover. It was great. I’ve hadthe Ruben as well, and it is super-fucking-legit. No lunch meat corned beef on that mofo! Only complaints? Some bartenders here are better than others, and drinks cannot go outside. So if you’re wanting to smoke a cigar, then you’ve got to abandon your drink inside and hope that a staff member doesn’t snatch it up before you return.

3 stars overall because it’s «A-OK». Not great. Not bad. We stopped in here on a Sunday to have a beer and check out their food. I mean, it’s an Irish bar — what else would a person go in there for? So, I had a $ 6 Kilkenny Irish Red draft which, was REALLY delicious and the ambiance was nice. Dark and cool with the typical Irish/American wall décor. We thought about ordering the fish n chips but decided against it based on the potato wedges(chips) that we saw on another customer’s order and the restrooms really needed a serious cleaning. This was our second time stopping in and we’ll probably be back for another ice cold Kilkenny or a Guinness if were in the area.

Good fish and chips, good service, good beer… local place and no complaints. I’ll be back to listen to the live music.

I loved it here, the staff made it a great experience. We just stopped in for a few drinks. We were greeted and seated promptly and our server was awesome! She kept our drinks flowing without being annoying. It was a bit pricey, but well worth it. I will be back again to try their food, as it looks awesome. Great place.

Perhaps I’ve been tainted. I’ve been to Ireland and eaten real Irish food. This doesn’t even come close! My Smithwick’s(on tap) tasted slightly off. Perhaps they sell more Guinness and this was an old keg. It appeared they had about a dozen beers on tap. I ordered Irish Stew-it was so thin and salty. It may as well been canned from the grocery store! The other weird thing was the huge square of puff pastry sitting on top. My companion had Shepherd’s Pie, which he said was simply«ok». I may go back for a beer & music — but skip their food.

Excellent music selection — need better audio to be able to hear it as singers are good when you can. Friendly bartenders. Good beer/wine/liquor selection. Fun and festive.

This is a great Irish pub in the heart of Dunedin. There is always a cold beer waiting for you and the food is very tasty as well. I love coming in when there is music playing, which is several times a week. Do yourself a favor and get the fries with Guinness gravy. This is certainly a local hang out so it can be hard to get a table some nights but it is always fun. Come pretend that it is St Patty’s day any day of the year and you will be happy you don’t have to fight the big crowd during their annual street party which is not to be missed.

It was my first time popping by this Irish Pub, and boy was it awesome! The location is perfect, the atmosphere is fun and comfortable, and the food is awesome. I came in on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch, and I was the only customer. I was surprised, but enjoyed it. My server was very sweet and accommodating. I ordered a Woodchuck Amber(my favorite cider) and the chicken curry. Oh man, the chicken curry has some spice to it! I really liked it, besides the fact it was drowned in the curry sauce. Next time, I really want to try the Maryland Crab Cakes. Will come back!

Came here with family during the monthly Dunedin festival and it was unbearably hot so we stopped for a brew so can’t speak about the food. Strongbow comes in tall glass. Bud light isn’t on draft– Miller, Yuengling and Blue Moon are along with Irish beers. Have a decent selection of beers and some rotations from Dunedin brew co. Bar sits about 12 with a good assortment of tables. Minus one star for a limited draft selection and no frosty mugs. There’s a stage so there’s got to be live music though I’m not sure when that is. Tastefully decorated. Parking nearby. A nice afternoon stop on a sweltering day.

A wonderful local downtown pub. Everyone feels like family or lifelong friends after leaving. Always live music and a wonderful staff. A favorite of mine! Should consider serving full Irish breakfast at noon!

It’s been a while since I have visited Here. The first thing I noticed as I walked in was the smell… it smells like old grease, it’s really pungent… ownership needs to close the place for a few days and just clean the hell out of it. I am not sure if this comes from the kitchen or what? The bar is small and does a good job with live Irish music on the weekends, but this is a pretty competitive street full of better bars. If you want to stop by for a pint of Guinness and catch a silly Irish tune please do, but I doubt you will stay long we didn’t.

I had the chicken ceasar salad, which was perfectly seasoned and was Not drowned by the dressing. Wife had the bangers, which is sausage in puff pastry and she loved them. A little slow getting us check was only negative. Seemed like a fun atmosphere.

Great Irish Pub and wonderful food. I had the Shepherds Pie and other than my mothers and grandmothers, it was the best I ever had and all in a great town. I highly recommend it.

The hubby and I stopped in last night for the hubby to enjoy a guiness. The inside is pretty small, but was full of regulars and locals. The servers were extremely friendly and efficient. We sat back and enjoyed some live Irish jigs and a black/tan and a guiness. The table next to us ordered the pretzel sticks and beer cheese dip appetizer. After they arrived at the table, we had to order them too. They were good, but the cheese dip was lacking that bite I was expecting. It was full of real cheddar cheese, but lacking the«beer» flavor. They weren’t bad, but not as good as I was expecting them to be. I would definitely come back to check it out again.

I didn’t want to write a review until I compared it to other pubs in the area and I walked in and had something other than a guiness and a car bomb(or 3). Its a wonderfully authentic irish pub with a great community/local feel. Flanagan’s loves Dunedin and Dunedin loves Flanagan’s. I’ve been several times on Friday/Saturday nights. Great live music including irish/celtic sing-a-longs. I always have a blast. The food exceeded all expectations. They had a «pie and a pint» special. Shepard’s pie came with a pint of beer for $ 9. Great deal! The pie was rich and savory. The pint of guiness was perfectly poured(as always). For dessert I treated myself to an Irish coffee. How can you go wrong with coffee and irish whiskey? No other pub in the area has come close!

What a cool, inviting quaint pub. You certainly get all the Irish you want from the beer to the green walls and decorations. They had a folksy band playing and you could tell their were many regulars in attendance, as everyone was singing along. It didn’t take long to get into the spirit of the Pub. The staff was very professional and super friendly, you felt like part of this big family all laughing and singing and let me not forget drinking beer. As I am seldom a beer drinker, thank goodness for the full bar! We didn’ t have any food so I can’t swear that it is good. What I can tell you is that I saw some amazing food passing by me and I wanted to sample it all. There were quite a few people eating, so I can only assume the food is pretty good. Next time I will try the food. This is a nice Irish Pub full of happy people, song and good cheer! What’s a girl to do? When in an Irish Pub, bring your Irish out!

My go to for Irish beer, or my all time favorite an Irish Car Bomb. Every night I have been there they have had someone signing, which always makes a great time. Best pub I’ve been to, they actually got it right. Other places fail calling themselves pubs just because they serve Guiness. Will happily become a regular here. Update: Finally got there for dinner and it was amazing. I got the fish and chips, I feel a must have at any pub. The Guinness gravy and steak fries were amazing. But the desert was out of this world, a Car Bomb Cake! It was the best.
