Children’s Dentistry

My kids, ages 9 & 10, have always hated going to the dentist until we started coming here! Dr. Takenaka really treats the kids with respect and somehow got both of my kids really motivated to take good care of their teeth. That alone deserves 5 stars!

A lot of people had been referring me to come here so I made an appointment for my toddler. The hygienist was really sweet and so was the dentist. What I didn’t like was the open floor with all the dental chairs in one open room with no privacy. My daughter was running around I would have loved a room to keep her in and when she got checked she was screaming bloody murder scaring all the other kids. After the dentist was telling me my daughter had problems (defect) with her teeth I had a lot questions but felt rushed she was needed in like two other rooms. What made me mad was that when I turned around EVERYONE the patients and hygienists in the other chairs were listening to what she was telling me about my daughter. Talk about privacy. I was scared to death for a week and took my daughter to UW Center of Pediatric Dentistry and told me she had no defect but has ECC and the dentist talked to me for 20 minutes and I had complete privacy. Although everyone was really nice here I did not enjoy my experience.

I’ve been taking my 4 children to this dentist for 3 years, all the way from N Tacoma & I am so sad to have to say goodbye. (Moving out of state). The staff is super friendly with the kids. They are patient & make each child feel special. My kids love that they get distracted by the tv above while getting their teeth cleaned. They also love that they get to pick out a prize with a token at the end. Def going to miss dr t and her wonderful staff.

I have three kids and we couldn’t be happier with this dentist office. Each child is treated with respect and receives quality individual attention. The TVs above the treatment chairs really help.
This office is a preferred provider for MetLife. So if you are associated with the military you will be covered.

Both my kids loved it there. Great survive, nice pricing, amazing staff! My oldest had to go in 4 times for work and loved her prizes, the work they did looks great. The total we paid was about a ¼ of what I got quoted at her old dental office.

Staff and dentist are all very friendly and helpful. All of our visits have gone smoothly and my kids enjoy going. We have had to have fillings and teeth extracted and the dentist makes the children feel at ease. Would recommend.

This place is awesome! My daughter had to have a small filling and the next day she was calling her grandma to tell her how much fun she had. If I had only had a dentist like this when I was a kid… I will recommend this place to every parent I know!

Just had our first appointment at this office and I was not disappointed! In fact, I left there feeling really good about our decision to change providers and drive from Olympia. The receptionist was prompt and friendly, the kids were taken back for their exams soon after our arrival and got side-​by-​side treatment from the hygienists.
As a parent who chooses not to do fluoride or routine x-​rays, I appreciated not being hassled for my decisions. The hygienists acted as if it was no problem, and Dr. Takenaka didn’t express any concerns with our decision either. Everyone was really kind, and the kids thoroughly enjoyed their time in the office. Bonus points from my kids for the tv’s in the lobby and on the ceilings of the exam room. I suspect I’d be able to give this office 5 stars in the future.
