We went at 645 pm, heard their pizza is the best in town, but when I went to order was told«we’re out of pizza dough and cheese.» Arghhh! WTF! The beer was great but we drove a bit out of our way to get there and really don’t think we’ll go back since we went for the pizza… disappointing

Phe-NOM-enal food and beers! Had the big Billy sandwich with house cured and smoked pastrami… too good for words. Pizzas are great too! Seriously best food we had in Durango during our short visit… AND! They sell rad giant cans as half growlers! So cool, they fill on site and cap them right there at the bar.

Excellent beer, pizza is always a treat and salads are awesome. Love it. Not right in town like many are. Closer to the mall. Good option for people who are staying at the hotels on the south end of town.

This was our first impression of dining in Durango since we came here after getting in to town. Had a blonde and it was good, nothing remarkable but good. Had a burger and it was overcooked but did the job. The Reuben that was had by my partner in dine was on point so that was reassuring. The place itself was cool and had seating and the staff were attentive but nothing remarkable for me in regards to the food or the beer.

So 4 stars only cause I can’t do half otherwise this would be 3.5. Let’s see… Negatives first. Too many white people!!! Haha just kidding… Kinda. Seriously though whenever my friends and I go we are usually the only non-white people in there. What’s up with that? Also sometimes I feel like the bar tenders always serve us last. Coincidence? Probably… But still! Other downside is the hours. Closes at 8?! And sometimes earlier?! What?! BUT the beers are damn delicious. They have a great selection of stouts and IPAs and blondes mmmm. Their food is also pretty on point. I usually go for the chicken wings cause that’s the kinda grrrl I am, but their sandwiches are pretty good too. Hmm what else… Fun atmosphere. Overall pretty great. Oh yeah. And $ 2 beer specials. You can’t lose!

Excellent pizza and salad. I got the beer flight to sample a variety of beers. I didn’t like a couple of beers available this time of year in the flight. I would have liked more of an amber option. Other than that it was great.

I mean, really the only bad thing about this place is that it closes early and it’s hard to resist the merch. We tried the smoked pastrami sandwich and it was meh… the flavors didn’t meld well. BUT, Holy Hannah! The pizza was sooooo good and the beers are great as well. They offer a good selection and have super cool hydro-flasks for purchase!

Great beer, great food! One of the first places to ask for a temp on the burger and it was perfect. I would come back here anytime.

Everything you can ask for in a brewery. Great beer, $ 2 pint specials, pizza oven, and nice outdoor seating area And service was solid . Enjoyed a chicken pesto pizza and the 5/$ 5 sampler where you pick the 5 brews. Great experience, will definitely be back.

Great place to stop into. Aiesha and Tim behind the bar are awesome, and treated us like regulars even though we just walked in. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to stop by again sometime.

So many great beers, and I love that they offer a sample flight of all the beers they currently have tapped. I think it was $ 10 for a flight of 10(I received 2 extra samples) My favorites had to have been Buster Nut Brown, Rudie Session IPA and Pinstripe. Definitely check it out if you visit Durango!

Ska brewing is my happy place. I can’t even fully articulate how much I enjoyed our afternoon here. The ESB and True Blonde are two of my favorite beers; we always keep our fridge stocked with these two. My husband and I planned our anniversary trip to Durango almost exclusively to go to Ska, so we are total fan girls! We both ordered a pint of the ESB, shared a pint of the True Blonde and also shared a flight. Unsurprisingly, everything was great. ESB is still my favorite though. There is a restaurant inside called the Container which serves up wood fired pizza and some basic bar foods. We had a margarita pizza and wings. OMG, the sauce on that pizza is ridiculously good. My husband is a wing connoisseur and he said the wings were some of the best he’s had recently. I can’t wait until we get to go back!

I have always been a huge fan of Ska brews. The Pin Stripe is a classic. The menu was mostly what you can get in the variety-pack. The Greek and Works pizza was pretty good. The burger was pretty good. The chicken wings were alright. It’s kinda like finally going on a first date with the girl of your dreams and finding the evening sorta lackluster so you start drinking a bunch of beer and suddenly things start going alright but then you bring the growler back to your apartment only to find out that you don’t really have it in you to commit so you leave her in the fridge and she gets all flat and lame and then your friend comes over and is really into it so you just sorta watch as he downs the whole thing right in front of you! I think maybe I’m just still wanting that first growler I ever had. You know, the golden IPA from Pittsburgh… but she’s gone… she’s gone.

I have always enjoyed Ska’s beers and finally got around to visiting this place in person. They had all their beers on tap as well as bottled in the fridge for purchase and they also had a side area to order some food. Overall its a pretty laid back brewery with good beer. I do wish they would stay open a little later as they are closed sundays and only open until 8pm. They also do brewery tours daily at 4pm which I thought was pretty cool.

Maybe I was expecting something different but the ambiance of this place didn’t do it for me. It felt too sterile, lacking character, and just generic in a lot of ways. I was hoping to have a connection but, in the end, it just wasn’t there. I did get two flights of beers and, as far as that goes, the majority were good. There is a reason why Ska is pretty popular throughout the state. I was glad to have a chance to try some brews you normally don’t see in stores or bars as well. I did have the Cubano sandwich with chips and I thought it was great. The other three friends I was with all hated their food so maybe i got lucky. I wanted to mention that but, in my personal experience, I loved this sandwich. I feel that if you’re in Durango and into beer you owe it to yourself to go and check it out. For me, I found it a little disappointing.

I didn’t stay here long, but I had enough time to get a flight for $ 5(5 two-ounce pours, I think) and a $ 3 pour of Modus Hoperandi. In general, I don’t buy Ska beers back in New Mexico as many are average at best— Modus Hoperandi being the one exception— but I found at least three beers on tap I would have enjoyed drinking a pint of: Estival Cream Stout, Ten Pin Imperial Porter, and the Busta Nut Brown. The first two were good, the latter respectable. Anyway, I liked the daily specials, including the $ 3-all day pours on the day I visited and the space was pleasant enough. There’s food on hand, sixers and growlers to go in a refrigerator, and plenty of schwag for sale.

SKA beer is fabulous… this is why one comes here. Compared to a couple of breweries in Durango, this place has a little more ambience. It’s pet friendly, serves food, and has a kids menu. The adult menu was reasonable. I thought their specials… today beer brat & kraut with chips or fries 8 bucks and their happy hour beer special for 2 bucks… great dinner for 10 dollars. Best Happy Hour specials…2 bucks for a pint of their happy hour beer which each day they select one white and one dark. SWEET-totally awesome for us CUSTOMERs… for really great craft beer. Kids menu was very decent…4−6 dollars range from 12 inch pizzas to hamburgers & hot dogs and their pizzas were awesome. Dog friendly… had an outside patio with tables and chairs. Samplers were only 5 bucks for 5 samples. The Decadent Imperial IPA was absolutely delicious and my favorite. We also love, love the Modus Hoperandi IPA which was awesome and lucky for Durango there are certain restaurants that serve this on tap. Sweet! Then Ska brews another fab brew Buster Nut Brown… STOP can’t take all this fun. My opinion is this… Durango has 5 breweries and only 3 to really mention… this is a must visit if you love craft beer. Special mention DMR –Purgy’s outside bar serves SKA… Salute!

Ska is one of the best craft breweries I’ve been to nationwide. I’ve been a fan of theirs for over a decade and would sample their beer back when they had a tiny bar near their current location. Fresh beer by the pint or to go in a growler is worth the trip. They also have their entire line-up in cans or bottles in their coolers. The environment is great and their beer tenders are super fun and friendly. Occasionally you’ll have to tolerate hipster parents that let their rug-rats run around, ruining the environment while they ignore them over their beer. Like most craft beers, Ska beers are best enjoyed fresh. Unfortunately Ska has fallen into the stupid IPA craze, so a majority of their beer is «fashionably» bitter. But, they tend to go back to their roots and offer unique and old-school seasonal styles that make them at the top of the craft beer heap in my book. Also located inside is the Container Restaurant. I wrote a separate review on them. They rate 5 stars, their food is that good! My only gripe would be that I think they could offer their beer for a bit less, but I guess they have to pay for their new building or something. When they were smaller, you could grab a pint for a couple bucks, but now prepare to pay $ 4 – 5 a pint. Also, avoid Thursday nights. They usually have a band and all the local hipsters and«semi-pro» cyclist show up and peacock around with their BS attitudes.
