This was probably the best Mexican food and service we have had. The enchiladas, tacos and beans were out of this world. The margaritas were great. We got seated right away the waiter was on Top of everything didn’t have to wait on anything

Great seafood tostada-I eat as a meal. Small restaurant with great service and a favorite for lunch!

Perhaps my favorite restaurant in Durango, and priced reasonably enough that I can go fairly often. And I don’t feel like a sucker, because the food is a very good value. Everything I have had has been very tasty, but I must recommend the tacos. I’m not aware of any other place in town that offers taqueria-style(aka authentic) tacos. Margaritas are good too. I’m not a stickler for service because I go to restaurants for the food, but I have to commend the service from everyone that has helped me there. Thank you!

Really enjoyed our visit this evening — really good Mexican food, good portions, and nice and attentive servers. Had the grilled steak topped with cheese and peppers… yum! Rating this a five star, as we are Californians familiar with good Mexican food, and this place tops our list not just for food, but great and fast service.

We used to love this place! This was our go-to Mexican restaurant in town. I never post Unilocal reviews but it wouldn’t be fair to future customers if I didn’t tell our story. The manager, we learned later, was AWOL. Staff was lost and unorganized. We waited 20 minutes to get anything other than water brought to our table. When we finally received our frozen margaritas, they were watery and tasteless. Worst margaritas I’ve ever had! We brought the margs ourselves back to the bar because our waitress was nowhere to be seen. The bartender told us «That is how all the frozen margaritas taste. Nobody orders them because they are bad.» Uhm, what? Spent much unnecessary time arguing that we would like margaritas on the rocks and would not pay for a second round. She refused and began to ignore us, tending to other customers. Finally, when we got her attention, she told us to consult our server, which we did. The queso we ordered never showed. We cancelled the order when our entrees appeared 45 minutes later. Entrees were delicious! We finished our plates. We waited. Still no margs. Finally, we received our new margaritas on the rocks after our meals and left. They were so-so at best. We will not be returning.

Excellent REAL Mexivan food. All very fresh and my husband declated the huevos con chorizo the best he ever had. My salad was filled with crisp vegetables. Salsa is the perfect temp.

As soon as we walked into, we were greeted nicely and sat down. Drinks, chips, and salsa were brought to us! The salsa is yummy! The place is festive with fun Latin music, great décor, and awesome staff. We ordered a al pastor, pollo, and carne asada taco! It was perfect! I’ve had some great tacos in ABQ and other Mexican places but this place is legit! Which is why it was packed! I want to go back and try other dishes! I love this place!

Easy to find on Main just off 160 in Durango. Not a lot of parking and very unpretentious looking out front. Lovely full bar, big $ 7 house margarita was good. Super generous portions even on lunch platters. The salsa given with chips was thick and delicious, nice chipotle smokiness; loved it.

The queso fundido is a must! Great margaritas. Never been disappointed except for mistakes in to go food. Can get very crowded so give yourself some lead time. It is worth it.

Fair prices, great food and portions. The margaritas are huge! This place is unsuspecting from the outside but bright and friendly on the inside. My only complaint is the limited parking but there is enough parking on the surrounding streets.

Molcajetes was the recommended choice by friends. It was the best seafood dish ever. Sautéed shrimp, scallops, octopus, clams, talapia, squid, in a flavorful red broth to be rated as is or with tortillas. A side of beans, rice, and guacamole to top it off. One portion is meant for two, but it easily served four big eaters.

Ok food but not over the top. Single layer factory made tortillas on my three assorted taco order with beans and rice. Nothing had the wow factor happening. Service good.

I’m constantly questing for *Mexican* mexican food– not«New Mexican», not some hybrid menu that vaguely involves tortillas– just fresh salsas and flavorful and well cooked meat. So I was happy and relieved when I tasted the tacos here– soft, small corn tortillas decorated with meat, cilantro, and lime, that you fold up and happily stuff into your mouth. Carne asada + carnitas good; the lengua the softest I’ve ever had. 3 tacos for $ 6.50! My companion liked his«Nayarit plate” — chicken + shrimp, but it looked too heavily cheesy for my taste. We liked the red chile salsa so much we bought more to take home. Small-ish seating space, but there’s patio seating too, which is nice on a cool evening. Skip the touristy places downtown and eat here instead.

If you are craving Mexican food in Durango definitely check out Nayarit: D I’ve been out of town for awhile so I wasn’t sure where the best Mexican food was located anymore. Thankfully my parents were on top of it and took me to Tacos Nayarit for lunch. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside on the patio which was quite comfortable because they have giant umbrellas to protect you from the sun. I ordered the carne asada plate, my mom had five tacos(lengua and tripas) and my dad had a machaca burrito. Service was friendly and fast! My carne asada was seasoned well and cooked perfectly, and I enjoyed the sides of beans, rice, tortillas, and guac. It was a perfect portion for me. My mom loved the flavor of her tacos, but five was a bit too much so she took some home. Dad’s burrito was enormous so he only ate half and took the rest back to eat later. Make sure you are really hungry if you order a burrito! Free chips and salsa before you get your meal is legit!(I hate when places charge for this). Can’t wait to come back to practice my Spanish and try the tacos :)

Amazing staff, amazing prices and really good food. We came by chance, cause this was one of the few places open after 8 pm. The owner personally opened the door for us and the service was one of the best I ever experienced. By far the best Mexican food, I ever had and this wasn’t like my tenth Mexican place or something. Must try!

Usually, when I eat Mexican food my body screams«what did you just do to me?», and I feel the need to do 25 hail Disneys, and run 6 or 7 miles(neither of which I do). This place is different! After eating 3 tacos and their delicious salsa, both me and my body agreed that the decision to eat at this wonderful place was a good call. Highly recommended. The service is over the top awesome. Great experience. Avoid the long lines downtown and check out this gem!

Wow! So we were in a brewery in town and asked for a recommendation for good Mexican and the gal recommended this place in about two seconds flat. It’s about a mile from«Downtown» I travel for business all over Mexico, Central and South America and this food is as good as it gets! Incredible flavor, extremely generous portions and super staff. Five stars!

I don’t know why I waited so long to eat here. Very good! I ordered the molten cheese dip volcano thing. Wow so good. They have a new larger space and everyone should give them a try. New fan new customer.

Fantastic tacos with many choices! Very surprised by this hole in the wall in Durango! Such great tacos… you will be missing out if you dont stop and try! I had tongue and cheek tacos… They were superb! So tender they seemed to melt in my mouth I have made tongue many times and it never comes out like this… Simply magical :) If you want a top notch authentic taco then you must stop here! Believe me you will be in Taco Heaven!!!
