This location is very clean(100% sanitation score), efficient and serves up delicious burgers and fries! It’s my go to lunch spot when I have to grab something quick yet satisfying. The regular burger is perfect size for me and the fries are always crisp, salty and worth the calories. The only issue is parking — well leaving your parking spot. With a drive thru and dine in service the lot is very busy so be careful backing up.

Awesome, Awesome Milkshakes! The office ordered milkshakes to celebrate some recent success, and C.O.RTP did a terrific job of filling that order in a timely and efficient manner. Very tasty!

Pros: You get a lot of cheap food. It’s hot. Cons: I ordered a burger and hushpuppies. For $.85 more you can order the burger Cookout style(slaw/chili/onions/mustard), which equates to about 2 tablespoons of the condiments and onions. It was pretty boring, no char flavor and nothing stood out. The hush puppies tasted like deep fried plain flour, where are the spices? I don’t really care about the bible quotes on the food packaging, but the ultra Christian music was annoying. Verdict: RTP has so many amazing lunch places available, why go to a place with tasteless food?

Really wanted a good solid burger meal and that was what this was. Sides were fun to choose; there was the standard fries, rings, etc. But also quesadillas, corn dogs and such as sides! Fast and friendly! Great shakes too!

I love Cookout. I will admit it. My husband and I were very happy when a late night gross food joint opened up near us. The food is always consistentmy greasy deliciousness, but their drive through always takes FOREVER. Every time we order a shake we have to expect an additional 10 minute wait, and a lot of times they won’t get the order correct. I hope they figure it out soon!

Worst cook out experience I have ever had. All orders were wrong. Order numbered never called. They just sat the food on the counter and went on to do something else. The chilli cheese fries had no cheese. The food is just not as good as the others in Durham. Manager was nice and professional but dont think I will be back.

Best joint EVER! This is our family’s favorite! Everything on the menu that I have tried so far has been outstanding. My husband recently tried the barbecue sandwich and hush puppies and said it was«the most authentic Carolina without a doubt». Milkshakes are outstanding. We LOVE the contemporary music that is played in the restaurant.

If you are looking for quick, inexpensive food with a smile, this is it! The 55&54 area in RTP is very slowly improving and this place really helps bring it up a notch. The drive thru is packed, so go inside! I got my food faster than any fast food restaurant around and that included my custom made shake. Love the rustic, farm like décor, and the tables are beautifully done. Don’t try cutting across the Big Lots/Bojangles way, you need to enter from Hwy 55 at the signal light(learn from my failed attempt). Everything we ordered was excellent: fries, burgers, corndogs, onion rings, wraps, shakes, etc. At least try it once, great food at a great price.

Clean and busy. The parking lot can fill up when they are busy, so be patient. I’ve found the food quality on our with other locations. One of my favorites is the cheddar style. They have Cheerwine in the fountains, too! So very Carolina! There is a small patio for outdoor seating, and lots of booths and picnic style tables inside. It would be nice to have a ketchup and napkin station away from the counter because it gets busy up there.

I’ve been here a few times now and for a fast and inexpensive meal, this is a great deal. You can get the Cookout Tray which comes with the entrée and two sides(yes, a corn dog is a side) for $ 4.99. My hubby and I can both eat from that. I’ve had their burgers as well as the hot dogs and both were tasty. As a rideshare driver, I LOVE that they are open late. I’ve not been inside yet but drive thru seems to run quickly and efficiently.

Stopped by for a burger after work, ordered a burger, onion rings, slaw and drink off the combo menu. They counter staff gave my order to someone else when it came out, he returned it and they might have remade it. They took it to the back and it came back out so who knows? Well it came out with hush puppies instead of onion rings. So it went back again. This time it comes out with 3 onion rings, the place is inexpensive but this is cheap. It’ll be a while before I attempt this place again.

Brand new and clean as a whistle. Super nice employees too. So why the two stars? Seems it takes a couple months or so for the grills to get seasoned at these new sit down locations before the char flavor gets into the meat. Plus they use a different exhaust system compared to the drive thru locations so it won’t be as strong. That was the case with my burger, not a lot of flame flavor. The corn dog was very good. Fried just right and the dog itself was good. Was surprised there were only four onion rings in the order. Seemed kind of scant to me. They were just okay. I had a peanut butter banana shake, which didn’t sit really well in my stomach and I had to throw half of it out. The peanut butter was in the bottom of the cup and never really got mixed in. They play Christian soft rock on a continual loop. No more country music. Neither is my cup of tea. Also bible verses on the cups was a bit of a surprise too, but no surprise at all where they’re coming from.

What’s wrong with a reasonable priced fast food joint? Could not wait for Cook Out to open and replace the pizza joint that was there. We have gone to the other Cook Out off 15⁄501 in Durham because we prefer the sit down location verses the drive up one. Both are very good and the food comes out pretty quickly. The drive thru at this one seems a little slower then others. We wanted to grab and go but the drive thru was backed up so it was quicker to go inside and get it to go. I have tried the Cajun chicken sandwich tray, the double burger tray, the onion rings, hush puppies and the bacon wrap, not all at once but all have been good. If your looking for a better alternative to McDonald’s or Burger King this is the place. The shakes are also way better then the other fast food joints. The best deal to save a little change is order the shake with the tray and then order a small drink as well. It’s an extra $ 1 for the shake with the tray! Only 4 stars because as someone else said very little onion rings as a side.

My first Cookout experience. I loved the Regular Burger and Cajun fries! I won’t order the quesadilla again since the flour tortilla was soggy(it should be crispy!). The Durham Tray was a good value of food and cost. Wendy’s next door won’t get another dime out of me.

I’ll give them a clean 5 stars. Reason being… It’s a cookout with a dining room!!! If I’m correct it’s the only one of its kind in the Raleigh Durham area. It’s brand new and it’s super clean. The location is awesome as its in a centralized busy area. We stopped by to grab a few items and went inside the establishment. The place has only been known for a day or so. Everything looks awesome. There’s a lot of people here as they are all excited about the fine in experience. With a crowd of 15 or more people and a flooded drive thru, we still got our food within 5 minutes!!! Awesome job CookOut!

Brand new cookout just opened today! Great atmosphere. Smells brand new. It’s one of the few cook outs where you can park then go inside and eat! Inside there are only two registers so be ready to wait in line but it moves pretty quickly. The bathrooms in a widowed spot. Front and center as soon as you walk in look for he red doors. Rustic wooden theme inside. This place is decorated and designed very well. The food was great! Consistent with any other cook out. If you haven’t been — this food will taste like authentic charcoal grilled food. Delish! The fries are great and the shakes! 40 amazing flavors! Hint — you can mix more than one flavor of shake! You want Oreo and snickers? Get an Oreo snickers shake! This is a real shake. Thick and chunky just the way it should be. Pick your meat and then pick your style. I love cheddar style — cheddar cheese(like cheese whiz), onions and mayo! ENJOY!
