This is one of few Indian restaurants that allows you to choose from multiple curries at cheaper price. The best part is unlike most other restaurants you find will each curry is made with unique base and not overloaded with cream thus preserving the original taste of the condiments and spices. I would also say that their non-vegetarian curries are far better than vegetarian ones. Do checkout this place if you are looking for a ToGo or wanna try a couple of Indian curries without paying too much.

Seriously short on portions and taste. Will not eat here again. If you are in the area — take the time to travel down to Indian Gate — not too much further from this place but well worth the effort. In an area such as Cary/Durham where you can’t throw a rock without hitting an Indian/Curry place, this one isn’t worth your time or money

I eat here a lot — about once a week. The biryani is amazing — I haven’t found anything close even at fancier sit-down restaurants. I really enjoy all of the dishes — saag paneer, korma, etc. and it’s at a decent price point. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I feel like the portions of actual meat could be bigger — when you get something like coconut chicken, vindaloo, tikka masala, etc. where the meat is concealed by a gravy, you can actually see them ladle out a set number of pieces of chicken or whatever it is so to get enough protein I often have to order an extra meat side where I can see the meat(chili chicken, tandori cheicken, etc.) and then just pour the extra gravy from the masala or whatever on top of it.

Currypoint express is an indian place, but unlike most places that do the whole lunch buffet, they have a hot bar where you order«combos» of food, and they give you your combination. I liken it to the indian equivalent of a Chinese restaurant at a mall food court — lots of options — but without the free samples. I came here for lunch with my wife, for the first time — it was early(like 11:30) and apparently they didn’t have all the items out on the food bar(otherwise I would have had the Chicken tikka masala!) I ended up getting a Madras chicken dish that was Über hot — like too hot — and I ended up not finishing it. My wife had the Vegetarian Thali. She thought the thali was OK, and I wasn’t overly impressed with my dish. I question the logic of coming here when you can go to a buffet, get lots of options for something close to the same price. Overall, I don’t think this place is worth the visit — not that the food is really bad, but more because the value proposition(quality vs cost) just isn’t that great in an area that is inundated with indian restaurants.

This is by far the best Indian fast food I have had. This is my go — to place if I need to grab a quick bite. They are reasonably priced and a very good variety of food ready to go, so no waiting. Their Saag Paneer is awesomely creamy. The Chole perfect with freshly made naans.

please stay clear — awful food. felt like throwing up right after taking a bite. I would give a 4 star for disappointment. Ordered the daily special(pav baji) — Pav was a make shift burger bun — not sure when it was purchased. Pav was dunked in oil. To make things worse, people walked in soliciting for donation. Please dont go —

The décor is a bit unassuming and the dishes are as well, but good grief, their food is good. The samosas here are the hands down some of the best I’ve had. Everything I’ve had here is flavorful and the portions are good. The lunch options are fast, tasty, and a dang good price. I’ve had nothing but pleasant experiences with the staff hear; the ladies I’ve encountered at the register are sweet and reasonably accommodating; they’ve even let me sample dishes before as I was completely clueless with some items(don’t expect this during the lunch rush, however… they are understandably busy). I’ll continue to go here and this will continue to be an Indian mainstay for me

The food here is so bland. The spices and attention to quality are equal to fast food like Taco Bell. Really was surprised to see so many people(non-Indian) present at lunch hour.

Because it is close by we are regular customers. We enjoy the Dosa and overlook the health rating of 92(poor). Tonight however they decide to start cleaning with the customers there. Heavy cleaning liquids sprayed on tables that we have to breathe. Followed by a guy that madly sweeps the dirt and grime from the floor TOWARDS us. Really? Throwing up dirt in customers faces? Finally the dirty string mop is sloshed around with more cleaning chemicals right next to our table… As our food is delivered to our table. We waited for the sour cleaning fluid smells to disperse before eating our Dosa. Not terribly happy tonight. Was going to chat with staff but not sure if I’d be talking to the right person in charge or if they’d understand how their inappropriate cleaning time and nearness was unacceptable.

We’ve eaten here a few times and it’s a hit or miss for me. The chicken vindaloo, butter chicken and Tikka Masala are great. The palak paneer is pureed to the point of baby food which disturbs me. If I could do 3.5 stars, I’d give it that. The lunch options overwhelm me. How many items? Do I make it a meal since I’m getting a drink? Does the Thali only add pickles, raita and dal? Is biryani a meal option or side? The lines are long so I always feel like I need to decide quickly. I wanted Dosa today and had gotten it before at lunch but today they were to busy to accommodate it. Understandable, I suppose. We had a nice pakoda with our meal and Naan which we enjoyed. I miss the onion relish of the buffets as well as salads. It’s a different and very popular Indian dining option and seems to stay busy. We will be back but not during peak times. Lunch with sodas for two was $ 22.50. There are long lines at peak times but it seems to go fast.

Keeping on low heat all day food will get hard mainly rice items.

My husband works in the area from time to time and has dined here several times for lunch. He was craving Goat Vindaloo and suggested we get some take-out on a Friday night for dinner. Arriving around 7:30 the place was empty and we were in and out in no time. I got the Spicy Curry Chicken with white rice, some Naan, and an onion Pakoda. My husband was sad to see they didn’t have any Vindaloo or Coconut Chicken and even asked if any was available. The young lady said no and just started at him so he settled on some Chicken-65 and Butter Chicken. We also ordered 4 vegetable samosa for a grand total of $ 23 and some change. Plenty of food for the price. The problem I have with Curry Point is all the food tasted like it had been sitting out since lunch. The chicken was dried out, the naan was hard, and the onion Pakoda tasted old and greasy. My husband stated they were much better for lunch with more variety and was disappointed with our dinner. I think if you were in the area and looking for a lunch spot this place may do the trick but it doesn’t seem like they cater to the dinner crowd and you get whatever is left over.

Tried Curry Express today for the first time with a friend. This place is not fancy by any means, but the food was tasty, well seasoned, and authentic. When I ordered, I was under the impression that my two entrees and two sides would fill one plate, but the entrees were each served in their own bowl and sides filled an entire plate. As you might imagine, this was a huge serving! Hot sauce is available in the side if you prefer yo spice it up a bit. I will be back the next time I am in the area!

«Fast Indian food, cafeteria style» Came here with my family on a Saturday night for dinner after having read the many positive reviews. The location looks like a standard strip-mall fast food place– like a Japan Express or equivalent– with perhaps just a bit more seating. The dishes that are available are in tubs behind glass, and the hostess serves you a plate of what you request. There were dishes of 1 entrée + 1 side, 2 entrees + 2 side, and 3 entrees + 2 sides($ 9.99). There were also even larger«thali» choices, and one can make any meal a combo(with drink and dessert) for an extra $ 1.99. Since it’s cafeteria-style, there’s no tip on credit card purchases, so the prices are pretty low. I ordered the 3 entrees + 2 sides as a meal with aloo gobi, okra curry, chicken tikka masala, naan, and veg rice, as a meal(thus with gulab jamoon and a fountain drink) for $ 11.99. There were many other choices that looked good, too, so I’d happily go back to try others. They also had mango lassis for $ 2.99, though I didn’t get one. Positives: Speed– assuming what you want is ready, you get your food on the spot. No waiting at all. Quantity– a ton of food. I didn’t quite finish my dinner, and I was stuffed. Value– what I got was quite cheap for a dinner. Affordable for smaller portions, too. Cleanliness of store– mostly fine. Tables all seemed clean. Men’s restroom was clean but out of soap, but I think she refilled it when I brought it up. Quality– decent. Not the best Indian food I’ve had, but certainly not the worst either. The dishes I had were all a bit spicy– not so much to be painful but enough to give some zing. Negatives: Temperature– some of my dishes were not as hot in temperature as I would have preferred. The naan was barely warm. Dessert /meal-deal– I thought this was not as good a deal as the rest of what we bought. We each got literally one gulab jamoon ball(small enough to easily fit into your mouth in one bite) and a fountain soft drink for an extra $ 1.99. The picture on the wall showed a bowl with two gulab jamoon balls for the meal-deal, and even that would’ve been on the small side for dessert. Maybe pass on the meal deal, get water, and then try the new doughnut place next door that’s opening soon. Synopsis: If closer to where we lived, I’m sure we’d go back a lot. Since it’s pretty far, I’m happy to still go back when in that neck-of-the-woods(perhaps when returning from RDU airport, since it’s near the highway).

I’ve eaten here almost daily since working in the nearby RTP. The reason: Spicy Chicken Curry. There’s is really incredible and authentic. Buy this for your first visit and then sample the rest. 2nd favorite heretofore: Egg Curry. Haven’t seen it on the hot bar often but accompanying that with rice is an excellent duo. The Veggie selections do not interest me but as far as the Northern Indian/Pak cuisine, the curries are very pleasing. Also get the Mango Lassi which is a useful compliment to spicy food.

For quick, affordable, tasty Indian food, Curry Point is the best place I’ve found in this area. The restaurant is clean(enough for fast food, at least) and the staff are friendly. There are over 10 entrees in the hot bar to choose from and the naan always comes out fresh and hot. The 3-entrée meal for $ 10 is a great portion size and value.

The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. Fully fulfills my expectations for an Indian curry joint. Only downside would be their health department score is a little on the low side(88).

I have eaten here 2 – 3 times and I truly love their food. Up until this past weekend I had only eaten here for lunch, but I got to take my husband here for dinner after using Unilocal for a ‘nearby’ search and realizing they were open for dinner(!!!)(This is hard to find in RTP,…everyone closes up shop at 3pm like everyone who lives here wants to eat at Cheesecake Factory. girrrrlbye.) Anyhow, they are very reasonably priced and they have most menu items out on display(like this used to be a Subway?) in bins so you can SEE what you’re ordering, which for me, is nice. It’s like a buffet but not a buffet. The reason I’m deducting a star is for ambiance. The ambiance straight up sucks. They have pendant lights but rather than use them at night they just keep those nasty fluorescent overhead lights on(eww, again, I think it used to be a Subway or something). Plus they need some music or something playing. Anything. I’d settle for a local radio station but Bollywood soundtracks would be cool too?

I’m not sure what happened but some time in the last half year they changed their recipes and the way they do things. The mango lassi is now made from powder. The dishes were all slightly sweet instead of spicy. I thought the Vindaloo straight up had ketchup. I’m really saddened by this because it was genuinely an awesome restaurant.

Flavor is great and at $ 5.49 for entrée and side, can’t beat that. Masala has a nice coconut flavor. Spicy chicken was a bit unspicy. Naan is great and fresh even with express lunch. Helpful workers, good ingredients, recommend for a good cleaning.
