I am from Arizona and we were visiting my father in law and we always try new bakeries when we’re visiting Connecticut. This last time we were there, they suggested ice cream instead of cupcakes. We were in Connecticut for 9 days and literally went here on 4 of those 9 days. Super tasty! I am bummed we didn’t get to try smores flavor. If it’s your most popular flavor make a lot! But the other flavor of cake batter was my favorite!

Had not been there for years, but thankfully, stumbled upon it again. The texture and intensity of flavor is awesome. Sampled coffee(awesome) butter pecan(loaded with nuts and intense flavor), and black rasberry yogurt… very good. Portion size is excellent and flavor is among the best in Ct. for all I tasted. It was very crowded, the portion size is amazing… maybe the best ice cream stand in Ct. Do not miss… and the servers are very nice… definitely a destination from now on…

Got to be some of the best soft serve around, rich and creamy. They sell good quality hard ice cream as well. This place has been around forever. Customer service is top notch. Excellent location.

Easily some of the best ice cream in the area. Been three times this summer. They have rotating specials and so far the smores has been my favorite followed by key lime.

This drive-in ice cream stand has been in Durham for more years than I’ve been in Connecticut and is about as traditional as it gets. I can’t say much about the various hard ice cream flavors; at a drive-in like this I always go for the soft serve. The vanilla is smooth, cool and creamy on a hot day, the portions are huge, and the cones crisp. What’s not to like? This is the ice cream you remember from the Sunday drives in the country you took with your parents when people still did that. If you’re in Durham, stop by for a delicious bit of nostalgia and a creamy treat.

Huge portions of tasty ice cream! I wish I took a picture. I had the cake batter and key lime pie ice creams, my husband had toasted coconut and cherry vanilla. They key lime had a slightly fake cleaning product taste but was made better by the chunks of crust in it. I can’t believe after living in Middletown for years I’ve never been to Dari Serve. On summer nights they always have a huge line, so you know it’s going to be good!

Best ice cream spot ever. Just a really unique, little, old fashion walk-up place. I grew up going here and it has the best soft serve Ice cream I’ve ever had. Plenty of choices for toppings and flavors. Reasonable prices. Friendly employees. When you drive by on a hot summer night, the line of people waiting for Dari Serv sometimes stretches down main street Durham. But I honestly think it’s worth the wait, looking forward to going soon!

If heaven were a sundae, it would resemble: Vanilla Soft Serve Peanut Butter Sauce Hot Fudge Reese’s Cups Whipped Cream A Cherry My. Absolute. Favorite. Place. For. A. Sundae. Period. Now, go grab your own piece of heaven and thank me later.

Awesome Ice cream at an unsuspecting little shack in the middle of old durham. Not really sure if they still make the ice cream on premises, but it’s exquisite. it’s creamy and smooth unlike the crystallized crap we so often get from major chains. I got a twist with mango sorbet and it was cold and refreshing on a hot summer day. Make sure you go at an «off peak» time, otherwise you’ll be waiting in a line that sometimes stretches all the way to the road.

After a long, wickedly hot summer’s day, this outdoor ice cream stand was a lifesaver. We pulled up, parked, and went to the front to order. I got a giant root beer float with hard vanilla ice cream — superb! Kids had the mint chip(awesome, with flakier chocolate chips that melted in your mouth), chocolate(true flavor) and vanilla(ditto). The staff was super friendly and got the orders out quickly despite a loooong line. There wasn’t anyplace shady to sit(despite a few benches here and there), so we went back to our friend’s place and ate it there. This, to me, was a minor inconvenience.

This place is alright. Finally stopped in recently after driving by at least twice a week for the past year or more. I came in mid-afternoon yesterday and there weren’t too many other people but I have seen this place have a line out to the busy street on peak summer evenings. Since I was driving I opted to get a milkshake. I got the Moose Tracks in the milkshake which was described to me as vanilla ice cream with a fudge swirl and peanut butter cups. It was ok. None of the flavors really interested me with the exception of the ones on the specials board which I didn’t see before placing my order. Among them were pumpkin, apple pie, toasted coconut, and peanut butter brownie.

I was looking for another ice cream place and stumbled across this one instead. Very quick service… so quick I didn’t even have time to get my change put into my wallet before a cone was thrust out the window at me. I got a regular sized waffle cone with the rum raisin ice cream. While it was tasty, there really wasn’t that much of a rum flavor happening. As far as ice cream joints go, the pricing is just what you’d expect it to be. There are benches scattered around the edge of the parking lot, not much shade, but a fabulous view of the hills.

My favorite spot to get ice cream. Such a nice, pretty drive through the back roads of Wallingford and Durham make this 15 minute drive very pleasant. You’ll rarely pull in to find no line, but it moves quickly and gives you ample time to decide among the plethora of unique flavors. They also have the best soft serve I’ve ever had, so refreshing! And they’re very cheap as well, which is always nice. This is a a summer time ritual for me and my family, as there’s nothing better than stopping by after dinner around sunset to devour some great ice cream. They’re closed during the winter months, so Spring, come quick!

If you’re looking for great ice cream, friendly service, and don’t mind eating it in a parking lot — this is the place for you! With many unique flavors like Mango and Toasted Coconut(two of my faves), who wouldn’t want to try out this place? It’s cash only and you park and walk to the window and wait a bit until you get your cone or cup. It’s pretty cheap as far as ice cream goes and it’s really good for what you pay. If you’re ever in this farm-y town after dinner, definitely go here for a post-dinner snack.
