This is a great place, especially for kids. The Mac and cheese is good and is enough for two kids to share. I love the Zucchini Grillini with ranch dressing for dipping. Since this is a vegetarian dish you can replace the chips with certain soups at no extra charge. The free ice cream is nice for kids.

Good food when they get an order correct. Close to half the times I have ate there they mess it up. It is a simple request due to a food allergy, leave 1 item off but they do not pay attention to what the cashier put in. I no longer eat here due to the health risk it poses.

1.5 hour late delivery and it was messed up. Long time Jason’s customer but I won’t be returning for a while. And certainly not to this location.

Edible but really nothing better than what I might expect from the average chain

Had this catered today for a meal and I was very impressed by their pastas. Marinara and meatball pasta dish was excellent. Alfredo chicken was nice as well(chicken was a bit dry for my tastes). Also, I really enjoyed their strawberry cake dessert(very simple — strawberries, pound cake, and whipped cream; execution was on point). Haven’t been to the deli location, but maybe I’ll swing by.

Average to below average deli food. Decent turkey sandwich but nothing too exciting. If you need a place to grab a quick lunch at work then give it a shot.

This is a great Jason’s Deli that has been around for years and always stays consistently good. I recommend the California Club, it’s a turkey sandwich on a croissant bun with bacon and guacamole.

Good, fast, and cheap! I’m docking a star because it was the first time I ever went to one and the specials menu was all I saw, and I didn’t realize until it was too late that there is an actual menu hidden away. Other then that, the fruit we ordered were amazingly fresh and the free bread/ice cream was really appreciated. GREAT value for your money. Because this is a chain, we will make sure to stop at many more.

Decent menu great selection of sandwiches and salads. I have tried several of their menu items all very well done. Their potatoes are excellent and they have an outstanding salad bar. If you are in the mood for great sandwiches or salads with fresh ingredients for a decent price this is the place.

I was craving a salad bar. I know, who craves a salad bar? So we went looking for salad bars in Durham and came up with this place. Along with the salad bar, I had a cup of vegetarian French onion soup. French onion soup is hardly ever vegetarian – most recipes are beef broth based – so I was excited about that. The soup wasn’t too bad, and as is the case with most things, was made better by adding a couple more toast croutons from the salad bar. Still, I didn’t love it enough to get it every single time I eat here. The service is, as others have noted, pretty slow. We were first confused about how to get our soup, but we dropped off our little order cards at the end of the counter and were told it would be brought out to us. However, after nearly finishing our salads, we had to go remind them about our soup. The salad bar fulfilled all my cravings. I especially liked the pearl couscous salad, but there’s a wide variety of veggies, fruit, prepared salads, nuts, and even desserts like pudding. There is also free ice cream, which tastes like free ice cream: okay, but unremarkable. It’s better with the nearby chocolate syrup. I’d definitely eat here again.

Stopped by here on a Saturday night and place was literally empty, probably everybody @ UNC — Duke game?! :) Ordered a couple of sandwiches to go as well as salad and soup. Everything was fresh and delicious. Jason’s Deli is very similar to Panera, but probably a little more bang for your buck. Salad bar has a lot of options and is a healthy choice. Great for lunch/breakfast/dinner! Will definitely stop by here again soon. Good service and all-around value.

This location is rather large. My buddies and I entered, got a couple sandwiches, and sat down. I personally got the Reuben pastrami sandwich, which was literally bread, thousand island dressing, sauerkraut, and pastrami. They did give a LOT of pastrami, but I felt the sandwich could have done much better. They also have a salad bar option. If you choose this option, you pretty much get the souplantation experience, with just much less selection. Also, one section of the salad bar is up for grabs, and they have these muffins that are actually pretty great. One last thumbs up for this place is their free ice cream. They have a self-serve machine that you can use after you finish your meal. It didn’t taste that great, but I mean, what’d you expect? Still, a rather nice touch. I think it’s worth mentioning that I am rounding down from a 3.5, because our food came out really late(I think they actually forgot about us, and we had to remind them), and also because what you get seems to be little compared to how much you pay. But if you’re into eating a healthy meal, I think this place would be a good option. Just make sure to skip the free ice cream then. David’s VPP(Value Per Price): 5⁄10

Food quality issues. We found a piece of plastic in my son’s Mac n Cheese and a hair in my sandwich. The kitchen needs an overhaul. Won’t be eating here again until I see the health safety rating go up.

Excellent value for the price, because for ~$ 8 you get an all-you-can-eat salad bar stocked with a fairly reasonable variety of toppings and pasta salad, some dried and fresh fruit and nuts, and other additional treats(including free soft-serve ice cream). The lunch special is also a pretty good deal as well, and comes with a lot of food: half a sandwich, soup, chips, and access to part of the salad bar. Great place to go for lunch if you’re looking for a healthy option!

Love the staff, the environment, and the food. Perfect spot for lunch with a diverse menu. We had the seafood gumbo and a fruit bowl and the flavors and freshness were unbeatable. Too bad it’s nestled in New Hope Commons. A better location would be clutch in getting more people there.

A typical Jason’s Deli, their salad bars are clean and well stocked and I’m crazy about their Vegetarian French Onion Soup! I tried my first baked potato at this location and even though I ordered the smaller portion, I received an absurd amount of food. I’ve never been hungry enough to order a dessert in addition to a salad and cup of soup, but they look tasty. The free frozen yogurt is a nice perk and I like their selection of soft drinks and teas.

Pretty good food. The sandwiches are huge, and they have an extensive salad bar. You also get free ice cream and muffins and nuts and stuff. I got the turkey muffaletta which I didn’t actually really like because it had a ton of olives. I don’t know how I missed the memo in the menu. It’s basically an olive sandwich with turkey. My boyfriend got some croissant club which I liked better than mine. Overall it’s just your typical deli chain with typical deli food. Not bad, but not out-of-this-world.

Jason’s Deli is pretty good. I think they take very good care of this location. I really like the service here. The salad bar is always clean and they have a good selection of bottled drinks. I enjoy getting their manager special once every few weeks. Their soups are very good… especially the broccoli and cheese.

I have been going to Jason’s Deli for years. I’ve been going to the Durham location regularly for seven years. The food is very consistent. It’s not outstanding in terms of flavor, but it is very solid. You know what to expect each time you go. I always get a baked potato. The potatos are gigantic and much more than I can ever eat. In the last year or so, JD’s has introduced a smaller version of thir baked potatoes for about a dollar less. It’s still more than I can eat, but I do appreciate them doing this. I think they do smaller portions with other menu items. It’s worth checking into. JD’s has worked hard to provide quality ingredients. There food is fresh and often organic. It tastes fresh too. The atmosphere is a little fast-foody. They recently remodeled and it does look nicer inside. However, they did not upgrade their booths. So while the décor looks better, the booths are sometimes stained or torn. Maybe they will fix that soon. The quality of the food makes up for everything though. If you want something relatively quick and don’t want to sacrifice quality, then this is an excellent choice. Other posters have said this is likely a great place to take kids. I would agree. I do not have kids, but I have commented often that f I did have kids I would certainly bring them here. There are often a decent amount of kids dining here. However, this is not a kid-establishment. You can go without kids and enjoy your meal. I’ve never been disturbed by them. My overall impression of JD is that they are mindful of the food they ae serving their customers. Their overall attitude towards food is one I am used to seeing at some restaurants, but not places where you walk up and order your food. It’s refreshing.

«Sandwiches, soups, salad bar, and soft-serve!» Always liked this location pretty well– the sandwiches are PILED with meat and usually pretty good. The soups are pretty tasty. The salad bar(see picture) has good fresh vegetables(never wilted), but also has a variety of other items like pasta salad, cottage cheese, mixed fruits, watermelon, banana pudding, mixed nuts, mixed dry fruit, corn muffins, etc. And of course, there’s free soft-serve. Although I occasionally get soup or a sandwich, my standard dinner here is to just get the salad bar– it’s all-you-can-eat, tastes good, and(mostly) healthy. Price is something like $ 7, too, so fair price, quality, quantity, health. What more can you want? This location has always been clean, and the service has always been fast and friendly. Definitely a fan.
