The cheesesteak is money. I’m not sure about all the comparisons to Philly… This isn’t the same sandwich. There are no hot peppers on this sandwich and there is some lettuce… The cheese is real, too. No whiz here. I personally don’t care how it compares to Philly, this is a great sandwich. The bread had the perfect amount of crunch and flake, the steak was seasoned well, and it had a healthy amount of grilled onions, green peppers, mushrooms, lettuce, and provolone! Not greasy. I’d go back to get another cheesesteak here for sure. I kind of hated paying $ 9.50 for a sandwich, but then I ate it… And I forgot all about it.

Best cheesesteaks I’ve ever had. I’ve been to Philly and tried a few of the most popular cheesesteak places but they were all bland and unexciting. I came here around lunch hour and ordered 1 full cheesesteak and one half cheesesteak. The cheesesteaks here are delicious. I had the half with everything on it and the whole with just meat and cheese with spicy paste. Flavorful and juicy. I agree that they don’t provide a great deal of meat but it was enough to satisfy. The owner(?) cooked while his son(?) tried to help out. They seemed to be getting frustrated with each other and the owner kept mixing up/forgetting orders. I strongly suggest waiting by the grill as he is cooking so you can help remind him what your order is. A couple groups ahead of me decided to sit down after placing their order, he forgot what their orders were, and just made mine before theirs because he was too embarrassed to shout across the restaurant to ask them to order again. It was very busy and the wait was about 20 minutes long.

This place makes a good steak and cheese. The steak is juicy and the bread is great. The staff is very accommodating they will even let my girlfiend and I split a large steak and cheese and only have mushrooms on my side. Thanks guys!

Great food. Try the Reuben. I wish there was more food selection, but again, it makes it easier to choose this way.

I always get a philly cheese steak when I come here. I really enjoy the sandwiches. They don’t have whiz though. They people are nice and the place is clean. I’ve gone multiple times and I’ve always been happy.

I’ve been looking for a good cheesesteak in the area for a while now, so I decided to stop by this place for lunch. I got a half cheesesteak with provolone, onions and peppers. It was pretty cheap, around $ 5 with tax. The sandwich itself was pretty good. I prefer my cheesesteaks loaded to offensive levels, so I thought it was a bit lacking in the meat department. The bread was solid too. They don’t offer whiz, so look elsewhere for that. The place is clean and the people behind the counter were nice. I’ll probably be back the next time i’m craving a cheesesteak, but not otherwise.

Bleh. Couldn’t decide what to have for lunch and settled on a chicken philly, seeing as this was one of only two places I haven’t tried in the area. Small local business? Sure, why not. Apparently a lot of reasons. Place is small and dingy(previous review said sanitation score of 101? Since knocked back to 98.5-not horrible, but wondering if they had a good day that day). The owner was carving meat(gyro meat I believe) off some huge hunk of processed loaf. I silently thanked myself I gave up red meat long ago. Now, I should have finished this review 2 months ago but just now logged onto the full site and noticed that it was waiting to be posted. Since Unilocal doesn’t let you post from mobile(what is up with that!!!), I stopped mid-review and figured I’d remember to come back to it. Nope. Now I just remember that it was gross and do not plan on going back anytime soon.. .

I really enjoy eating from here and I’ve been visiting this place since I discovered it when I was in college! They have halal chicken(upon request). Their food is fresh and made right before your eyes! Out of the many times I’ve been here, I’ve only had 1 or 2 bad/mediocre experiences. Give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed(I hope!)!

Overrated cheese steaks. After several attempts to try the cheese steaks here at the Philly Steak Factory I have come to the conclusion they are WEEK and lack enough cheese and overcooked. The bread was decent. Although the baklava was delicious. They offer two different kinds of baklava, walnut & pistachio. The menu is limited to gyros, roast beef, turkey, corned beef, pastrami, tuna, grilled cheese and Philly cheese steak or Philly chicken cheese steak. Yes, they have french fries and they are salty, but they are good with paprika(available on the table). They could do salads here, but if i come here it is not for the salads. I will add that the best cheese steak in the greater Triad or Triangle area was a restaurant in Burlington, NC. However, it changed owners and quickly went downhill. For the record, the cheese steaks here at Philly Steak Factory do not come close to how good they are in Philadelphia. The owner of this joint does not talk much. Service C Food C Location B Décor D

My husband and I both ordered gyros(hey, we had a craving) but didn’t want to mess with the parking and hub bub of Franklin Street. After a few searches on Unilocal, this place came up and we decided to give it a try. The gyros here — which are arguably their most popular sandwich — are pretty good! And, I was REALLY impressed with one thing — their NC Inspection score? 101! I’ve *never* seen that, much less on a little hole in the wall restaurant! The fries were decent — well cooked, and they have a seasoning on the table you can use. The Greek Salad. well. you should never expect a great salad from a cheesesteak place. I’ll leave it at that. I’d definitely go back for another quick gyro!

I can’t speak for the cheese steak but the gyro is awesome! Better than Med deli I think. Kind of a hole in the wall but I like it. Seems like a little bit of a hidden treasure. I have a theory that the tastier the food is, the more likely the place that serves it is going to be a dump. This is definitely true when it comes to BBQ. despite that though, they display a sanitation score of over 100. Get the gyro. they also have baklava.

I’ve been coming to this place for as long as I can remember, regardless of where I’ve been living in the triangle. The location makes it convenient for a quick dinner after shopping, the food is consistently good, and the owner is always friendly. For years, I had only ordered the steak or chicken philly sandwich, and it’s hard to resist ordering them even now, but their other options are also delicious. Their gyro sandwich is the best I’ve had in the area, even compared with places like med deli. Their fries are frozen as some other Unilocalers have pointed out, but they do have some great toppings for the fries and it goes well with the sandwich. My girlfriend even ordered an all-veggies sandwich, and it was still pretty good. Overall, I think it’s a great restaurant that I plan on supporting as long as they’re open.

I have been coming for nearly 10 years and have yet to find a better philly cheese steak anywhere else. I have recently stopped trying as it only seems to disapoint. Try getting the chili pepper sauce on it, gives it a tasty kick(you have to ask for it when you are ordering). Also, for as long as I have been coming here i havent ordered anything but the philly steak as their is no reason to. Dont expect gourmet here, just a tasty diet busting philly steak. Dont take it to-go either, the sandwich will get soggy.

This place has been a mainstay for me for about 6 years now. I don’t know if it’s a legitimate«Philly» cheesesteak, since I haven’t spent much time up north, but I can tell you that they make a delicious sandwich that goes by that name, and are not afraid to pile on the onions and mushrooms(recommended). Also, the fries manage to be tasty without seeming quite as greased up and salty as fast food usually serves up. There is some variation, and I’ve had a few bad sandwiches over the years, but I’ll choose it over most other sandwich places in the area. That being said, I’m not a big fan of the gyros there; stick with the cheesesteak. Also, the owner is a great guy who will talk to you all day. Support some local business here instead of going to Subway or Quiznos, you won’t regret it.

Well, we saw the sign for Philly Cheesesteak and believed it… ouch! The staff are friendly and the sandwich was fair; but, Geno & Pat have nothing to worry about. This was not a cheesesteak; the steak was cooked until nearly crunchy and has a flavoring added that was not bad, but not what i expected. All in all, it did not have any of the onion & steak & cheese flavors that Philly Cheesesteaks are known for… whether you like Provolone or Cheeze Whiz… either way, these were lacking. The fries were frozen but pretty good. All in all, it’s a filling lunch but not memorable. Now the baklava… looked fantastic and the owner said it was home-made…I may return to try that some day.

Strip-mall sandwich place offering a few different options for people tired of deli sandwiches. But their use of the name«Philly» is nothing short of an abomination. Cheese and steak on a roll is no more a ‘Philly Cheese Steak’ than a pile of rocks is the Washington Monument. Ranting aside, the food is greasy-good and reasonable priced(get the half sandwich and fry combo… it is plenty). I think it may be family owned /operated… not sure, but even when I’ve seen them short-staffed, they manage to keep the food coming out and moving the customers along.

The current trend of sandwich places seems to be towards customization, the sort of Subway model where you dictate the contents of your sandwich from the bread on up. The Philly Steak Factory rebels against these bourgeois machinations in a limited kind of way. You’ve got a couple choices of bread and a couple options on toppings, but in the end you will have a cheese steak, and you will bloody well like it. The sandwiches are all right, though definitely not the best around. They are filling, I will say that, and I feel like you should walk into a place like this looking to be filled with hot meat, period. The intricacies of upper-class sandwich construction are not a concern here. We want cheese and meat.
