Picture perfect framing shop with fabulous frame stock in hundreds of options lining multiple walls and a highly skilled craftsman, Benjamin Smith, in the showroom. Ben is expert about the products they carry and framing technique and has a great eye for design with art school training. He did a super job for us framing large mirrors for bathrooms. We’ll be back with art framing projects I COULDHAVEHUGGEDBEN! I was ready to give up finding frame stock for two guest bath mirrors for a new home and glue the darned things on the walls. The mirror supplier recommended I try Frameworks. When Ben saw the samples my husband laid out for cabinet finish, counters, tile and hardware and I showed him photos of the bath lights, he was able to pull two terrific options for frame stock in a finger snap. Absolutely not what I would have even looked at on my own. Absolutely«Ahhhhh…some» a choice to tie everything together. TOPCRAFTSMANSHIP This is a gem of a small, locally owned business as they carry moldings across price points including excellent quality offerings from the likes Framers Inventory, Roma and Larson-Juhl. Ben cuts his own moldings and mats and to frame all pieces from start to finish. When so many other framing shops use intermediaries and«jobbers» for parts of the work, the kind of craftsmanship you’ll find here is rare indeed. REASONABLEPRICES All of this and we found their prices to be very reasonable. We were surprised by how low they were compared to our expectations of price being familiar with the framing product lines from prior use. We might even say these prices are bargains for the quality. NOJOBTOOLARGEORSMALL Frame Works handles work from small and simple to large and complex. For example, this might be a place to have a family photo or your niece’s watercolor or your friend’s sports jersey framed or that expensive giclee you bought at the art auction. Frame Works also offers preservation quality framing if you have really fine pieces you want to protect. BOISELOCATIONTOO As added bonus we had a chance to meet the friendly owner, Harry Young, who owns this store, where Ben does the framing, and another in Boise on Overland Road at the Five Mile Plaza. Harry is expert in hanging art, or installations as it is called in the art trade. We plan to call on him to do that for us in our home. This N That: 1) Parking: A pretty good amount in the parking lot of the North Channel Center strip mall where Frame Works is located. 2) Accessibility: One spot of accessible parking in lot outside shop door. Level in and throughout. 3) Neighbors: Edward Jones next door. Porterhouse and Joe Momma’s at the opposite end of the strip mall.
