Monday’s the day with 25% off your bill. I’ve been here many times in years past and usually left happy and satisfied. Good quality sushi across the board. The separate rooms at the front are the best; they require reservation and a group of 5 or 6 minimum. Seating at the bar is ok too, but not open for lunch. When I visited this week, sushi was great as usual but we got unlucky with the server. Very slow, forgot to bring the food out, refill water and tea. Probably bc end of the lunch rush, but still. We had the sush/sashimi bento box. White tuna was excellent, the other sashimi was ok(tuna, salmon), the sushi was great. The box also had a small asparagus/avocado roll(4 pieces), deep fried vege, 2 small spring rolls, and some fruit. The wasabi was very inconsistent(mostly bland w a few ‘hot pockets’).

This has to be my favorite sushi restaurant in Lansing. It is SOOO good. The service is always amazing, for starters, one time we had to catch a movie and we told the waitress we only had 20 minutes and she got us our drinks, soup and salad, edamamme, sushi, bibimbap and check with time to spare. The sushi is all amazing, they have really creative rolls with great vegan options. I love the rock n roll, and theres this one roll with kiwi and mango which is amazing. They also make amazing bi bim bap, you can get it vegan too! I always take guests and parents here!

The best sushi place I’ve been to hands down. The edamame was perfect the soup and salad was fresh and the rolls were amazing. I had the spicy scallop and the tua kwon roll I recommend them both

Wonderful place, mediocre service, good food, delicious green tea and menu variety! Consistently great! Don’t go to sansu, ai is the best!

The food is good, and the private rooms are cool. Otherwise, ambience is nothing special. Prices are average, maybe a bit above.

Expensive! unless you go on a Monday. But the food is amazing. I recommend the big AI roll. Great date spot too.

Meh. Nothing was that great. The Calamari was very VERY chewy. The Passion Tea $ 12 alcoholic drink was disgusting. Noodles were very salty.

The sushi is bland and the staff is slow and rude. I have been here once about a year ago and again a month or so ago just to give it a second chance both times not impressed at all.

The décor is beautiful and the staff is extremely nice. The sushi is good, Yet it tastes far too Americanized. All the meat was chewy and tasted like imitation fish. The menu names are very clever. I would come here again, but I would ask if they improve the quality of their sushi ingredients.

The food is great, that’s not the problem. The service was absolutely horrible. We came in with a party of 4 and sat for over an hour while multiple… MULTIPLE parties of 4 were seated before we were who arrived much later then we did. I can assume that some parties had made reservations, but all of them? I came to the conclusion that the host/hostess either forgot us or purposely ignored us(by the way your hostess was very rude when she did speak to us). If you have patience, give this place a try, otherwise move on.

I usually like this place, but tonight the sushi was pretty disappointing. Both the veggie roll and crazy dragon were haphazardly cut. A few pieces were super narrow and falling apart, others were way too wide. Maybe just a new chef.

Tons of american-sushi options if that’s what you’re looking for. I love that they are open so late and have a bar! Some of the other food is frozen out of a bag and just not worth the price. I don’t even care for the quality of the sushi(fish sometimes has bad texture and smell) but I go here fairly often because of location, hours, and options. Service is nice too.

Excellent sushi! The best sushi in town and in mid-Michigan. The fish is always fresh, the rolls are innovative and delicious. The house-made teriyaki sauce is dynamite. The menu has a great blend of simple rolls, complex rolls, fresh or fried rolls. The cost is relatively inexpensive considering what you get. Every Monday is 25% off total bill. Atmosphere is great. Classy enough to for dates, but not too classy to where you have to dress up too much. Favorite app: Spicy Tuna Poppers Favorite rolls: Big AI and Eating Nemo

The best(in terms of what you get for the price) sushi in the area. Maru and Sansu offer a higher-class atmosphere and menu, but that comes with the higher price of those places. AI’s strongpoint is their specialty rolls. All of them are delicious, filling, and cheap– especially if you go on a Monday when everything is 25% off. These rolls are usually tempura, covered in sauce, and stuffed with as many ingredients as a possible. I love this type of sushi but sushi purists should beware, AI’s basic rolls and nigiri aren’t very good. The standout roles for me are the Fusion Roll and the Big AI Roll. I normally only eat sushi when I visit but the few other menu items I’ve had have been really solid as well. Many Unilocal reviews complain about service but I’ve never experienced anything remotely close to bad service, and I’ve eaten here over two dozen times. Overall, AI is one of East Lansing’s finer restaurants. Definitely worth checking out.

Au Fusion has pretty decent sushi but I remember it for its unique hand rolls and the availability of large, private dining rooms perfect for birthdays, lunch/dinner meetings, etc. The«fusion» foods are sure to please most anyone’s appetite and they even have sushi rolls with chicken in them. Sushi here is good only to those that like creative hand rolls as the rolls are pretty and mostly covered in Americanized sushi accompaniments. I personally like this type of sushi so it works for me but I’ve definitely had better, more fresh tasting sushi elsewhere. I wouldn’t pop in if I was a sushi traditionalist, however. The salad I had was a bit wilted and overall, Ai isn’t too super fresh but hey, when you’re a college student and you want some sushi, I would definitely recommend this place. The décor is a bit dark but still very welcoming and the staff was super friendly. Even when dining with large parties, the staff were nothing less than friendly and helpful.

Very good sushi, I always come on Mondays for 25% off. And it is really good. Their booze is also good, I am a fan of «sumo on the beach» drink. Mondays are always a good treat, and I somehow get the same server every time so it is a good time. If you want to have a good time Mt. Fuji is great if you have a lot of people and $ 80 for everyone. Awesome time.

AI Fusion is, simply put, pretty good. It isn’t the most stellar or memorable asian fusion experience I’ve had, but it certainly is above average is most categories of things I look for when dining out. I don’t like sushi ATALL so AI was the perfect sushi joint for me(although the sushi looked very pretty and my friend liked what she ordered). They have a well rounded list of starters, udon, teppanyaki, and yaki soba. My yaki soba dish was a little on the bland side, but the vegetables were fresh, the chicken was tender, and the noodles were plentiful. I thought the portions were huge for the price. The décor/ambience is pretty cool — more modern yet Asian theme through out, and there was an intimate tone despite the restaurant being very expansive inside. I had a really hard time finding this place though! I must have driven by three times. I ended up calling for clarity — there isn’t a cross street on Grand River, it’s located set back in a plaza next to Hobby Lobby. Our server was great, probably the best part of our visit. There seem to be a lot of complaints about the poor and inattentive service from other Unilocalers, but we had a very opposite experience. Our waiter was upbeat, knowledgable, helped me with a recommendation, and came by enough without being intrusive. I would come back again to try another menu item and bring people who enjoy sushi and a little bit of class.

Crab stuffed avocados. I could stop there. The sushi is among the best I’ve ever had, but not THEBEST. Great place for large groups and they do an amazing job with service and presentation of the food. They also have a very good beer selection.

The food was good. The reason for the 2 stars: we made reservations a month before dining. The restaurant was nearly empty while we were there. We had 1 waitress to serve 28 adults… who were all drinking alcohol and eating A LOT of food. Obviously, she was unable to keep up with the demand of such a large party.
