Sweet Lorraine’s Fabulous Mac n’ Cheese

I went to order from them online… Their hours are posted and its clear they should be open and running… but apparently they were closed. I find that very unprofessional. At least chipotle made up for when they were closed.

So. normally i love this place… however today when i came in there was some music playing that dropped a lot of F bombs. now normally this wouldnt bother me except a lot of families come in here with their children.

I would probably give 3.5 stars if I could, but I’m rounding up for the concept and the amazing soda! I would say it was somewhat pricey considering what we ordered. My sister and I paid $ 20 for a bowl of mac and cheese and a Mac and cheese grilled sandwich with two sodas. The four cheese macaroni and cheese was tasty and very rich. I had the cheeseburger macaroni and cheese grilled cheese, which was tasty but incredibly rich; it really could have benefitted from some pickles or fresh lettuce and definitely more tomato, too. If I went again, I’d probably get a half sandwich with soup or maybe try just the classic macaroni and cheese. I was impressed by the prompt service and they have a selection of upscale fountain drinks– the cherry soda was yummy!

Came here for lunch and got a veggie wrap. The people here are really nice, I asked to switch my dressing to ranch and there were no problems at all. I got a large wrap but I feel like it wasn’t really «large». But overall, not bad.

I love the food here! Carb overload but tastes so good. Not a whole lot of atmosphere but the staff is friendly & helpful.

The best comfort food! Ask for the twisted cheez! Especially the mean green pesto mac!

At first when I saw this restaurant being built (into the strip), I could not imagine paying premium, or heck, even mid-​range prices for Mac & Cheese, a product I can get from the grocery store for $ 0.89. HOWEVER, I took my Mac & Cheese-​crazy son there one day for lunch to give it a shot, and we were both blown away. From the excellent add-​ins like simply putting bacon on his, or the BLT version I got, we were wowed! On top of that, I loved the locally-​sourced cola options (blanking on the brand), but it was delicious, and a nice change-​up from the overdone Pepsi/​Coke options. The staff was friendly and helpful to us newbies, and patient when we couldn’t figure out what sounded best. They gave helpful recommendations, and were pleasant all-​around.
We’ve been back twice, and my kids request it all the time. Even when my daughter ordered the «Breakfast all day» (bacon + mac + maple syrup) which she didn’t like, though I loved, she still wants to try something new there).
It’s not cheap, so we don’t go all the time, but it’s DEFINITELY worth it!

Really it is a 3 ½ star, but food is only a 3 star. Got it for delivery and it was fast and cheap which is what gives it that half star. We ordered the buffalo chicken mac and cheez and the philly steak Mac and cheez with two cookies for $ 20 bucks. The portions were pretty big leading to leftovers. The food was pretty okay. The sauce kind of flavorful and corkscrew noodles held it well. My big complaint is the lack of protein. Both dishes did not have enough meat on them. Overall, it is a solid delivery option for Spartans when Wings Over or Conrad’s doesn’t quite hit the spot.

If you are looking for an amazing place to relax and enjoy a big helping of Mac and cheese this is the place. It’s almost as good as old fashioned Mac and cheese grandma used to make! It’s tasty and the baked cheese on top makes it a 5 star. Staff is friendly and personable and food was exceptional. So good in fact my husband prefers it over my famous Mac and cheese!

I have had Sweet Lorraine’s now about four times since it opened and have yet to have a bad experience. The staff at this location are very friendly and speedy. For having a set up very similar to Subway sandwitches, the staff is a lot more personable when walking «down the line» selecting toppings to put in your mac.
I normally order the five cheese mac and cheese and add spinach. Each time the dish is constant in taste and temperature. I would agree that the cheese in their dishes is more along the lines of Easy Mac, but the way they make their dishes in the stone oven really makes the dish crispy and golden.
I have two main suggestions for this business. I am disappointed with the «breadsticks». They are basically foot long, skinny Saltine crackers fresh from the box. If they would just take the time to make their own, freshly baked REAL breadsticks it would be a lot better.
Lastly, I think Sweet Lorraine’s needs to add some more options outside of mac and cheese. I would never visit this resturant more than once a month because I wouldn’t want to eat maccaroni that often. They need to add things on their menu that would want me to come back again for something new.
All in all, I would suggest everyone in East Lansing to try this resturant. I appreciate the local business and think they for sure do not deserve 1 Star ratings, but I do see some room for changes to enhance my future experiences.

I expected worse when a friend suggested we meet for lunch there. But the salad was good and the mac n cheese was also good. Not great. Better than the standard version at most restaurants (as it should be since that’s the specialty). The space is not too appealing but again, it is OK. The basic Mac n cheese at Noodles & Co a few blocks away is a bit better, but this store has many interesting variations of this dish.

Only good thing about this place was the service (friendly and efficient) and the pop — real cane sugar, good flavors (including orange, cherry and root beer). The food was disgusting. Fast-​food style mac ‘n cheese with a chemical-​taste. We tried the philly cheese steak and a make your own with tomato and mushroom. Nether of us even finished our dishes they were so not tasty. If you want fast mac ‘n cheese that is at least kind of good go to Noodles down the street and save yourself some massive disappointment.
