Amazing staff, great food and drinks, all in a comfortable affordable pub/restaurant… What more do you need?

Great service on a Monday night that normally would not be busy but was because of Christmas break. The waitress worked her butt off and was always nice. The burgers were excellent as were the dragon wings, Mac and cheese and fries. Bonus was the pool table. We will be coming back!

The Tom X has been through several owners, and with each one, it gets better and better. Now, Ruth and her Steve(the current owners) have found the perfect blend of big portions, great prices, excellent food, friendly staff, and a thoroughly welcoming environment! If pub-style dining and drinking sounds good to you, you won’t find a better place in the Poconos than the Tom X to partake. These people are good friends you have yet to meet, and the experience is bound to leave you satisfied and smiling. ENJOY!

Well it was a good try for us but the place did not own up to there reviews. We took a chance on the reviews and they were so wrong. Got to say that the service was good but the food was only fair. If you want to have bar food then it’s the place to go but don’t expect anything better. We also had kids running around so don’t expect a quite dinner. Sorry to say we will not return.

We came across Tom X on our first night staying at Saw Creek Estates. We didn’t feel like driving further and figured we could at least fill up on beer. The place was definitely packed around 6pm on a Friday afternoon. There’s a more formal dining room on the right half of this place. The bar/pub area is much more casual with plenty of beers on tap, a pool table and plenty of TVs to keep everyone occupied. Our waitress that evening was welcoming and personable, taking good care of us until the very end(including directions on how to get back given our GPS was useless). I ordered the pulled pork sandwich while Will R. had the open faced Roast Beef Sandwich. I have to say that the pork sandwich is definitely the better of the two. The roast beef was good but the pulled pork was juicy with a brioche like bun, slathered in sweet barbecue sauce. I had big potato wedge and they came out crunchy on the outside and moist and creamy on the inside. Will R. had the onion rings and again, they just did not match my order of potato wedges. Again prices are reasonable. Service was fantastic and we will definitely be back often!

We had a great experience with Tom X Pub. We had our rehearsal dinner there for our wedding. We were looking for a place that was close to where everyone was staying and close to the venue(Great Bear). Everyone loved the food, I was pretty impressed. My expectations were low in the beginning since it was a small town pub but they really surprised us. The Surf & Turf was awesome(steak cooked perfectly, a ton of crab in crab cakes), sweet potato fries were amazing, coconut shrimp appetizer was amazing. Everyone loved the food, I could not be happier. They handled our large crowd very well, we pretty much invited everyone that was coming to the wedding there in addition to the bridal party. Danielle and Ruth were both great to work with and everything was wonderfully priced. We were very very happy with the food and service. Next time I am in the Poconos, I am going hit this place up again.

This one of those hidden gems in the Poconos. The wings are the best around and the desserts are home made and are just awesome. I highly recommend the Black Dragon wings but the burgers are great too. The atmosphere and staff are just as good as the food. They are extremely friendly and they make you feel welcome. It is a great local place to go and hang out with friends and a group of people.

Dont be fooled. Typical under the highway overpass bar filled with rude locals and even ruder staff. Had been there for a party from HOMEDEPOT with some friends with a group of us celebrating a birthday. The food was«meh» and to define that, basically it was just above the frozen food section at your local supermarket. It’s nothing special. And Applebee’s or Red Robin would be more appropriate for the price. I was under the impression that we’d have a nice meal here. That’s why our group chose this. And a nice atmosphere. We didn’t. Our server. A blonde foreign girl with an accent was the most rude server my husband and I have ever had in our lives(I wont name names) she was the most short winded server ive ever had the dis-pleasure of meeting. And we frequent a lot of places. She just seemed like she didn’t want to be there or helping a large group of us possibly? Completely awkward and rude and just generally snide. Or maybe bc we weren’t local she didn’t care as she was seemingly friendly with the bartender and the half drunk loudmouth crew at the bar. But our table of non locals received the cold shoulder. Worst prices for mis matched food to person and mistake orders… I had wings. They’re nothing special and felt rubbery and microwaved. And our side dishes were cold as ice. Typical redneck ridden Pocono style pub with loudmouth patrons sneering at outsiders located on the edge of a golf course. With sub par food. A Terrible experience. Stay away. I cant see how this place gets good reviews UNLESS each of these reviews is posted by a local personal friend trying to talk up what is a sub par dining establishment.

These people are racist. It took them a long time for a Spanish couple to get drinks and more. They should rethink their actions and treat everyone with the same respect.

Malgorzata was an excellent server! We had a delicious meal from start to finish… Tom X fries, Pocono salad, and Tom X burger. The only place around to get a classy meal for a decent price.

My kids and I are camping near by. Last night, after we were set up and exhausted, I decided to Unilocal for a good place to eat near by. I liked the reviews, so decided to check this place out. It was great. It was in the middle of nowhere. I loved the décor. The service was wonderful. People were so nice. We ordered clams and calamari for an app. I didn’t expect much for a pub, but was pleasantly surprised. The clams were kinda gritty, but the calamari was delicious. I had the cobb salad. Very good. I will probably take my husband back one night before we head back for to sit at the bar and relax.

I was surprised(in a good way!) when I discovered this historic pub lying in the middle of nowhere near Stroudsburg. I go camping here yearly, and we came here for dinner last year. The drinks are cheap and the food is fantastic. Apparently the chef(who is the daughter of the owner) went to French culinary school, so the dishes here are inventive, tasty, and fairly priced. This time, we got some steamed clams(a dozen at $ 7? Yes please!) and they were perfectly prepared, absolutely fresh and delicious. I also got a margarita pasta, which was angelhair pasta with shrimp in a tequila sauce(like a wine sauce, but with tequila; couldn’t taste the tequila haha) that was garnished with limes(wasn’t needed). It came with a ham and potato soup that wasn’t too thick and was well made. The fries that are served here are frozen. I forgot to ask for my Manhattan to be stirred(used to that being the default!) and basically told the bartender than they should be stirred! Their liquor selection is okay, at least they had Maker’s Mark. They have a great Magic Hat on tap. Overall, a great little place to grab some food and drinks at great prices. Definitely check it out if you are around.

First time at this restaurant and found that their Black dragon wings are so amazing… spicy though if you can handle it. Food, drink(happy hour 5−7pm) and service are spectacular. The restroom is clean and restaurant is non-smoking. The location is out of nowhere but its worth it. Overall, everything is great!

My husband and I were staying at a resort near buy and were searching for some place for dinner. After researching a lot of places we decided on a place far away from the resort, while driving by we saw a sign for Tom X Pub and decided we were both too tired to drive father and to try it. Place was small and relatively slow that night. We read a review we needed to order the wings so we did. By far BESTWINGSEVER!!! we got them in the black dragon sauce and they were AMAZING! To be honest could have eaten like 3 orders of those. We both ordered our dinners after wings my husband ordered chicken carbonara and I ordered a chicken dish with bbq and tomatoes and cheese on it with a salad and mashed potatoes. The potatoes were delicious as well as the chicken, and you really can’t go wrong with salad. My husbands pasta was okay, it defiantly could have been worse, The only down side is that there was a long wait for everything but food. We sat at the bar(because it was the only thing open) and there was maybe 4 other tables sitting along with people at the bar and there was only one waitress on. It was a lot for her to handle. Took some time to place our order get our drinks and such, If your not in a rush it would be well worth the trip!

Wings are the best! Terriakki wings are problem the best I have ever had. Nice little bar located very close to my house. Very nice bartenders. If your in the area I highly suggest you stop for some food or a beer.

This historic tavern has changed hands many times over the past few years but has finally found itself a worthy owner. A destination pub, off the beaten path that may be a bit hard to find if you’ve never been, but worth the trip. The crowd here is usually very friendly like most local bars in this area. The service can be hit or miss but the food is usually good. Avoid the dining room and sit in the bar if given a choice. Their servers are sometimes stretched to the limit on busy nights but always polite. They sport a limited menu but it hits all the right marks. Most of the important food groups are represented; steak, fish and chicken. They have daily specials in addition to the regular menu as well. I’ve had most of the soups they offer and although tasty, they can sometimes be luke warm in temperature. Last time, my french onion soup tasted like beef bullion with a cup of salt added for good measure, but that was an off night. They offer a nice sirloin steak for a fair price and have good burgers as well. The french fries are of the battered shoe string variety but the oil is always fresh. They have decent roasted clams for a mountain bar. They are known for their buffalo wings and I suggest trying their award winning black dragon sauce which is spicy but sweet. They also offer a variety of other wing sauces but i forget what they are specifically. The chicken wings themselves are fresh and show no signs of being previously frozen. It’s actually hard to find decent buffalo wings anymore, as most are frozen prepared fried breading. Be Warned: Sometimes, they mistake bleu cheese dressing for ranch and sometimes they mistake it for mayonnaise too. The beer selection is average but they offer two micros and a selection of bottled beer. I do wish they had more variety to offer in this department. The bar manager is always professional and helpful. Overall, this is one of my favorite taverns in the area. Follow the signs and hopefully you won’t get lost.

Went in January 2013 and had a fabulous chicken pot pie in a bread bowl. Couldn’t have made it better myself(and I’m a pretty good cook!) Friends had scallops and ribs and were very pleased with their fare, too. However, just looked at the menu thinking I would go tonight, but that item is not there. Don’t think I’ll be going. Really had a yen for that!

Great place! Under new ownership! Started out with the fried oysters and calamari! Both were excellent! I had the prime rib special, which was tender and juicy! Deserts are made on site and everyone at the table had something different and everything looked and tasted wonderful! I had the Tom X Banana and Toffee Parfait which was so good that it defies description! Our waitress Jennifer was attentive and friendly! We are coming back again for sure!
