Better than Dunkin and more of a coffee house feel than starbucks. Excellent vanilla caramel latte

I grew up in enfield but only recently discovered this coffee house. I love different coffee places than just your typical dunking donuts or starbucks. They have great coffee, and great lattes. Nice staff and the inside is very cute. Very happy i finally found out about this place

This is a great place to meet a friend for coffee. The coffee is always great but there is only a limited selection of goodies to eat. The staff is always friendly and attentive. I have found that the service is top notch.

Finding a decent place to get some work done around this area is not easy. I’m not about to sit in Dunkin donuts for a few hours with my laptop but the pickings are slim. I stumbled in here on a whim and it turned out to be okay. There was some kind of old person knitting club so it was a bit noisy– way more noisy than you’d expect a knitting club to be. But I had headphones so it wasn’t a huge problem. Plenty of seating, including cozy chairs and some window seating for some prime south Windsor people watching. The coffee wasn’t spectacular but I’d probably come back to get more work done since its conveniently located for me.

Not bad for studying, it’s pretty cozy. I had a white chocolate macchiato, and it was too sweet for my liking. Overall it’s not bad

I come here a lot on business trips. They aren’t my favorite but they do the trick. Coffee is okay, not life changing but way way better than Dunkin and the like. Atmosphere is cozy, lots of squashy comfy chairs, two tiny tables outside. Service is medium. The smell is AHMAZING. Side story about service that pissed me off. Came here last year with a coworker to do some work. We probably looked like students because we were dressed casually and working out of backpacks. The girl at the counter looked up my coworker on Facebook via his name on his credit card and asked him on a date — while we were still there! For all she knew I was his girlfriend — not to mention, this is SOCREEPY. He didn’t mind though — he told me for months afterward she gave him free drinks. It’s a hilarious story but jeez… lol

Nice coffee place. Small café latte and blueberry scone came to $ 6 and some change. Barista was friendly and helpful. Décor could use some enhancements but overall no complaints.

Visited for a late afternoon pick me up — namely a large iced coffee. Added some cream — It was so cold and so delicious! Lots of space to hang out and sit and work on your iPad or MacBook Pro! Neat place!

it’s a grind is the only hazelnut coffee worth drinkin’! i cheered for them when the starbucks across the street closed. the espresso and cappuccino are top notch. oh sure, you may get something made not quite right by a rookie now and again, but if you are a decent human being and ask nicely, they will always make it right for you. i don’t do the frou frou swirly twirly drinks; but for a good ol cuppa joe and free wifi, ya can’t beat IAG. a nice place to meet clients or customers. consistently great coffee and service…

It’s like having a little slice of CA right here in CT. Good atmosphere, coffee, and treats. Wish there were more of these around!

Friendly staff, pretty good coffee(I’d give it a 4.75 out of 5), and the atmosphere is relaxing. They even have vegan milk options for your coffee!

My coffee was good, I got a cappuccino. The small is really small. My husband got a medium cup of the day, it was Luke-warm. We both used the bathrooms because we were passing through on a trip. The men’s room was disgusting. The ladies room was fine. If not for my husbands situation, I’d give it 3 or 4 stars.

What a fun find. Almost drove right past it as it doesn’t have the same cool logo as the other 100 some odd chain locations. First one of these I ever saw was in California and then the one by an apt I have in Texas went out of business. As far as atmosphere goes, It’s a Grind has Starbucks beat with the big living room style of couches. Free Wi-Fi, charging plugs, decent cup of coffee and friendly staff.

* Come Here Is You Like: Inconsistent Service — Wildly Inconsistent(Often Completely Lousy) Drinks — To Be Surrounded By Creepy Patrons * Great place to come… *IF* you like to listen to bitter, old, mentally-challenged people yammer on and on ATABSURDLYLOUDAMPLITUDES about things like huntin… how rotten Obamm is… havin yer dog killin him some birds while you is huntin. THEENVIRONMENT — Unfortunately it’s in an ugly little strip mall, but as another reviewer says, very nice. The colors, the tables and chairs, very nice. THESERVICE — sometimes good, but often abupt. THEBATHROOMS — locks broken, water only cold, and having some raspberry-air-freshener-candy-frosting-deodorant scented hand soap. Yes, it would be super easy for them to change the soap, but the point is: if they think this is appropriate hand soap, no wonder they can’t discern how awful their drink products taste. THEPRODUCT — also quite inconsistent. Their iced coffee will be good one week… the next week(including just yesterday), my iced coffee tasted like they had put artificially-flavored imitation banana-scented cleaning fluid in it. The iced tea is horrible.(How can anyone screw-up iced tea — let alone a coffee shop?!) My friend had an iced Chai. It was as undrinkable as my iced coffee. All the while, we couldn’t help but hear the very loud rednecks yacking non-stop from clear across the room. God knows this country needs entrepreneurs who are brave enough to step up, create great local coffee houses, and not let Starbucks force all the smaller chains(like this one), and all the locally-owned, real hometown places out of business. Sadly, this(CT’s only) «It’s A Grind» franchise is definitely NOT it. * Phil

The interior of this place is pretty close to perfect, in my mind, of the cozy/literary/relaxed sort of vibe all coffee houses should aspire to.

It’s the only one we have here in Connecticut… Ive had this coffee once in Kuala Lumpur too. Anyway it’s big thumbs down. I had one of their iced blended coffees… it was so watered down… Not worth ur greens… I prefer Starbucks to this any day. The only thing I liked was it’s cozy atmosphere nd good seating

A rare best-of-both-worlds find: convenient(off of 91, drive thru, open early, good price) but classy(local, quaint, friendly). The house blend was rich and fresh, but fairly light — wish there was a dark roast option. Very impressed overall.

A beautiful oasis with tons of tables, upholstered chairs and cool posters of BB King, Bob Dylan, Charlie Parker and Billie Holiday. It’s like hanging out in a big friendly living room. Super nice people behind the counter, huge selection of stellar hot and cold beverages. Oh, and a tempting pastry counter too. Today, I stopped in and had one of the very best iced coffees I have ever had in my life!

With no boutique coffee in sight, I was very excited to see this place. And at first sip quite pleased. That week in CT I didn’t miss Starbucks at all. Nick and Marni made my coffees and also helped with some questions about the area. The drive up window was totally convenient. This place makes me smile.

I’d give them a generous 3.5 stars if I could. Honestly, this place made an impression on me that would certainly grow, given the opportunity for me to visit this place more often. If this was five years ago and I still went to college in the vicinity of It’s a Grind, that could be possible, but I’ll safely say that I may never go there again, as New York City is now SO far from East Windsor… Still, I can say I was rather impressed with this little place! Crammed into the little shopping plaza on the southeast corner Route 5 and Route 140, just off of Exit 45 on I-91, I did not expect to see such a cute place crammed between betwixt a Friendly’s, a Verizon store, and a billards hall. Even from the outside, I just thought, «Typical crummy coffee shop.» I walked inside to comfy couches, the smell of rich coffee wafting through the air, and a little bit of unexpected class and luxury. My friend Jess has made this a regular stop for ages on her trips to the Enfield /Springfield area. As far as I know, it did not exist when I graduated from college in 2006. Good thing. If it did, I would have been spending my hard-earned work-study paychecks on their goods! Jess raved about their coffee and pastries. I tried one of their iced chais. I was surprised at how caramel-flavored it was! I was not expecting that, but, admittedly, I wasn’t disappointed by it’s non-chai flavor. I found it to be quite tasty! Perhaps, someday, I’ll find myself driving up I-91, thinking about Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts for some quick liquid refreshment. I’ll cross the Connecticut River, see the approaching«Exit Only» sign for Exit 45, then I’ll decide to stay in that lane in order to, indeed, exit, and I will be able to give It’s A Grind another chance, quite happily, too.
