Drove up for lunch with my father on Saturday. Very elegant and charming restaurant. My father had a huge portion of fusilli, s with eggplant, ricotta and meat sauce. He said it was real good. I had spaghetti puttanesca, which could feed two people easily. Both pasta dishes came with a fresh salad and a nice bread basket. Everything was fresh, and the portions were big. Staff are very professional, I would recommend restaurant very highly. We will definitely be back.

Been here many of times! First time for lunch. Lunch was a light meal! Salads. We had a crab(with Real Crab meat), hearts of Palm, avocado, beets! The other salad, was an avocado salad! Service was good! I will say, have had their Split Pea Soup, and will say hands down, the best ever!!! Pizza is out of this world. They make their own bread sticks. Saw them rolling them! It’s a really great spot, local!

So disappointing. I had been here a couple of times and was excited to bring my wife here for dinner. Terrible. The food is as good as a decent diner. Not worth the money or the calories. I don’t know what happened to this place but not the same place I had been to in the past.

Delicious! Went with a group of 8 and we all ordered something different and were very pleased with our meals. One girl even ordered Gluten free which was great as some places are very limited. We weren’t rushed out, we sat around and had a few laughs. We will be back for our girls night out!

Always enjoy our meals here! Something for everyone including my picky 8 year old and my gluten free diet. The pizza makers behind the glass window keep my kids busy while we wait for our meals. Ask for dough and your kids can play at the table too!

Orange gravy. Seriously neon orange. Square ravioli just not sumptuous as you would hope. The orange gravy is a mystery. My Barese-Bronx family gave them the benefit of the doubt in words: maybe they add cream, maybe they are from The North — but in actions, well we never went back. If a restaurant in New York calls itself«Italian» and their gravy isn’t good– they don’t have a shot at getting us to eat there. I rather drive to Hoboken, for the real thing, or the Bronx, it’s closer.

Delicious Italian food! Excellent venue to host parties or large groups! I love the hot and cold antipasta, delicious thin crust pizza and crisp fried calamari for appetizers. I’ve never had tough veal here — it’s always thin and delicious. My favorite entrees are Veal Parmigiana, Veal ala chef(veal scallopini with white wine shallots topped with plum tomatoes prosciutto, fontina cheese in veal gravy), and Chicken Azel(Breast of Chicken Dipped in Parmigiano Cheese with White Wine, Lemon, Peas and Asparagus). All are delicious and the portions are generous. Staff and management are very nice. They just renovated, so the atmosphere is much improved.

Sub-par, fast-food quality Italian in a nice setting, and beware this place is popular for large parties. The décor of the place is nice and above average so after previewing the menu and looking around when I arrived I was really surprised that the food did not match. Every dish received by the 4 people in my party was not acceptable and honestly seemed out of sync with the décor and service, like the chef had ordered Sbarros or some cheap fast food Italian take out on seamless when no one was looking and dropped it on our plate. Imagine Italian banquet food that was prepared in bulk beforehand by someone who had no respect for Italian food, and that should set your expectations about right for Ciao. Everything was overcooked and bland or seasoned wrong, some items were either reheated from frozen or prepped days before. If you want good, authentic Italian food do not go here. Not one of us finished what we were served, and we left hungry. This is New York not Kansas guys, what’s going on with the food? It seems that that they are popular with large parties, there were at least two going on while we were there, including one in the main dining room with kiddies running around where we were which meant it was so loud we couldn’t hear anything anyone was saying. This completely threw off the ambiance and made our time there even less enjoyable. It also left the servers distracted and a bit absent trying to deal with the chaos around us. I know large parties can throw things off, but we were there well before and already put in our food orders before the party next to us arrived. Not that should make a difference, but I wanted to remove that from the equation/excuses. The staff really were nice and seemed to try their best, I appreciated that at least. Too bad the chef didn’t put in the same effort or have the same skill level. Really no point in going here, the food is NOT good, the prices are too high for what you get and there are just so many other better choices. My grandmother summed it up best, the frozen dinner she gets from the grocery store is much better tasting, a fraction of the price and she can enjoy that without screaming children running around.

This review is based on only the food. I loved how the bread basket was an assortment of different breads including bread sticks– a rare thing nowadays. I got the ravioli which was good, but I wish I got the penne vodka. My brother got it and honestly it did not taste like traditional penne vodka. However, it was still SO good that every time my brother wasn’t looking, I snuck another bite!

Very nice atmosphere, décor/ambiance etc. Then as nice as it is they put on, oh so randomly, the Yankee game on the 55″ flat screen above our table. That’s one way to get rid of us an cause us to get dessert elsewhere! The waiter coming by way too frequently to take our order, give me a friggin break, we hadn’t seen each other in over a year — very obnoxious! The food is good here. It’s too bad there are too many negatives which over power the positives.

Came here for my grandmas 75th birthday and this place has some solid italian food. We started with cold antipasto, which was fresh and delicious. Next the hot antipasto, was equally as good. For dinner I had the chicken diablo, which was great. Nice and spicy, but not too spicy where it masked the other flavors of the dish. The service was excellent, our drinks were always full and they really let us enjoy each course, without being rushed out. I would definitely recommend this place for a night out. The valet parking is quick and friendly. This place is a must try if you are in Eastchester.

Love coming back to this spot. Great food and super service invite you back to enjoy. The seafood pasta is my favorite and the pasta is always al dente with the seafood firm and fresh. The Marinara is thick but not overpoweringly so. The veal chop is superb. So thick and juicy always cooked to order and accompanied by vegetables and potatoes. Nice spot for groups or intimate dinners. Love it. Wine list is ok.

Been coming here on occasion for years and never once had a bad experience. They do the right thing and take care of their customers. Their linguini carbonara is probably up there with the best you will find.

Came here for a work event during the day… I’m gluten free which is always tough for Italian restaurants, but the staff was able to accommodate me no problem! They said they have a whole gluten free menu during regular lunch/dinner hours as well. They made me the gluten free cheese pizza and corn pasta with bolognese sauce — both were so good, and one of my coworkers tried the pizza and said it didn’t taste any different than the regular kind! Overall great experience — would love to come back with my family for dinner sometime!

Ate here months ago with a group of 12 but forgot to write up a review… The food was just okay but nothing too memorable. Fried zucchini sticks were pretty greasy. A few people in my group were complaining that their meals were not all that. Our waitress though somewhat attentive kept disappearing when we needed her the most. I’d give this restaurant a 2nd try but I’m in no real rush to go back.

Came here on a Friday night. Not sure why people come here to pay an excessive amount of money for below-average food. I had a bad feeling when the bread came out and it was inedible(cold and rock hard). It’s not hard to tell when there is absolutely no effort put into someone’s cooking. For a four dollar sign restaurant, I would expect to find fresh seafood in a dish. The scallops in my boyfriend’s seafood linguine had a rancid stench and the calamari was as soft as tofu, assuming it was frozen and then overcooked? Clam in the bf’s dish had a huge piece of sand. Shame on me for eating the clam and thinking it’d be a good idea to try the scallop. Pasta was overcooked and limp, and the accompanying sauce was watered down. I recently had a bad experience with eating sea bass at the seashore restaurant in city island(got food poisoning) so I avoided ordering a seafood entrée. I ordered a salad(smoked mozzarella) which was fine with the exception of being overdressed. The wait staff were too focused on the game on tv and there were children running around everywhere. Water was not refilled — had to ask a few times. Will not be back.
