Man I love this place every time! Great atmosphere and location and the best cod I have ever had anywhere. Also gotta love pbr for .75 a can during happy hour. I always look forward to coming here and never disappointed.

My family really enjoys this place. Down to Earth vibe, good food. Love the fried cod and scotch eggs. I usually have to ask for more tartar sauce but they have no problem giving it to me. Only thing I don’t really like is their fries — they tend to be starchy and dry — and neither does my husband. Service is friendly and fast. Love that kids eat free on Sunday’s, as my daughter loves their fish too, and for a picky four year old, anything she will eat makes me happy! Love the big windows too.

Based on good reviews and a deep love for fish and chips, we tried this place last Sunday afternoon. We got the full order of Cod. Pretty disappointed that it didn’t come with the fries. They must be hard up for money to charge extra to get the fries. And the fries are not good. A lot of stale, end pieces in there and no seasoning. They seem a tad stingy about their tartar sauce. Can’t understand why when something that can make a happy customer for very little cost. We split a six piece beer battered cod order and it was delicious. I mean, really really scrumptious fresh fish. Yumm! The only thing was they only put two tiny cups of tartar with it. I asked for more and they gave us 4 more which was plenty. I got a little worried when when I saw various sizes of tartar sauce containers with prices by the register that they were going to charge us for extra tartar, but thankfully they were free. So to sum up, the fish was the best we’ve had in Colorado, so I would recommend this place for that alone. But the outdoor seating with views of the lake and Denver skyline is pretty wonderful, too. Note to GB Fish & Chips — please consider including quality chips(fries) with the fish orders!

Only have been to this location and always go back. This place never disappoints and it’s super hot and fresh every time. Really cool view of Denver and sloans lake too. This place is awesome!

Perfect in every way! Called my order in for pickup, was ready and waiting when arrived, even done right which is a plus in this day and age. Food was tasty, hot and all sauces were great! Really appreciate when a place cares enough to put forth a quality product. Thanks!

This place has CRAZY good fish n chips. They have cod, prawns, squid, pollock, tilapia and several other types. The batter is amazing(not too doughy, not too thin), and they cook it to crispy, golden perfection. The tartar sauce is like crack — I don’t know what they do to it, but it is glorious. They also have a decent beer selection and number of other food choices that you might find in an English pub(bangers, meat pies, pasties)…but I haven’t been able to get past the fish and chips. And, kids eat free on Sundays! I’ve had fish n chips all over the world… and this is some of the best. Who knew?

As a English ex-pat living in Denver, I was craving some fish & chips BAD. GB Fish & Chips hit the spot. Whilst they aren’t totally authentic, I have to say my cod & chips was pretty good. The fish was better than the chips, the cod was so crispy and flaky and came with a little side or tartare sauce. The chips tasted similar to many other American diners here, but were still good, just definitely not authentic. I’ll be back though!

Honestly, the best fish and chips outside of the UK. Add a pint of London Pride and SHAZAAM!

I never use to like fish and chips till I had them from this British owned restaurant — I always come here when I’m craving it– I also like there fried mushrooms, make sure you get lots of tarter and vinegar to top off this deep fried treat– If you have room left after eating, try a fried Twinkie —

Place is legit. Brought in the Queens with me to see their opinion and said was as good as home. Great location just across from sloans lake and view from inside is of lake and Denver skyline. Interior filled with footie memorabilia. Had the cod and a pint and tasted great. Defiantly coming back.

I have eaten fish & chips all over the US and in South Africa and London. GB Fish & Chips was hands down the BEST Fish & Chips I have ever had! I ordered the cod. It melted in my mouth! I’m coming back here every time I’m in Denver!

Tiny, cozy, friendly, and inviting Pub style bar thatin my opinion make th best authentic Fishand chips around. Staff are super friendly, prices are really great for the amount of food you get, large selection of beer and booze. Oh and if you sit on the patio you have an amazing view of Sloans Lake and quite the view of The Denver Skyline quitea beautiful scene actually. When i crave some great fish and chips everyone knows the place Ill travel the 15 miles to visit.

Been going here for a while and decided to throw in my two cent review. Solid contender from best fish n chips in town. Better than Yorkshire IMO. Better taste, quality of the seafood is better and price is better for the portions. Laid back atmosphere and their music selection has on point lately, some old swing and jazz tunes on our latest visit and 70’s funk before then.

I absolutely love GB fish and chips Edgewater, it is a lot more convenient that the Colfax location and it is near work. I would say I have lately been on a seafood kick and this is my to go spot for fast and safe seafood. Staff is always friendly and the fish the portions are just fair(With the exception of the scallops). Although I stopped by today and I purchased half a combination with just fish with an extra cod. I paid for my order, came back to work only to realize that my order was wrong and the portions were out of whack. — The scallops were huge !!! YAY!!! — The tilapia and the cod were relatively small compared to all previous times. I was upset, I love my fish. — And the extra cod I ordered and the tarter sauce were missing. I really do LOVEGB Fish and Chips, the fish is always cooked great, but this time I was very upset. That sad part is that I would normally go to the staff and inform them of the mistake on meal(at least the missing cod, but since my order was a take out there is no point. Its not as if I could leave work).

Not sure how you can make fish and chips any better! Although the shepherd’s pie needs lamb! Yummy yummy lamb. Come on America, expand those palettes! And a good Colorado hard cider on tap. But love the food and love the play area for kids.

I enjoy eating foods that make me feel manly. Street tacos and burgers. Fingery, messy, inexpensive, off-the-street type things that aid in my feeling rugged, low maintenance, common, and run-down by the pace of life. Fish and Chips fall into this category. Greasy and simple. Two deep fried objects lying adjacent to each other on waxy paper, or thrown together willy-nilly into a brown paper bag to be consumed by someone wearing work boots and an orange vest. Rudimentary. One greasy step removed from being in their basest form of existence. Potatoes. Fish. Vat of oil. That’ll be $ 6.50. In the past my desire for fish n chips has mostly been based on this desire for baseness and machismo. Because how they ended up tasting was usually a let-down. When biting into the battered fish I could predictably depend on encountering two completely separate levels of texture. One texture for the batter. Crispy. And one for the fish. slightly tough. Always tougher than I was hoping for. But at GB Fish n Chips there was only one uniform sensation. Crispy, tender yumminess with the slight hint of fish scent roaming up through my nasal conchae. I’ve lived in the UK and i’ve lived in New Zealand. But I’m most pleased with what I’ve found here on Colfax. As a side. I’d give anything for them to start using real potatoes for their fries. They would be my first 5 star review. The fries are the only real weekness. Big potatoey by-product type things.
