My experience at this Pier 1 store in Edgewater was so upsetting. After shopping here for many years, I refuse to go back in there for 2 reasons: 1. HORRIBLESERVICE: The sales associate behind the counter(unhappy looking girl with long blonde hair) is rude, lazy and clearly miserable working there. She offered a «REWARDS card» that sends coupons in the mail and email and lets you gather points. Never stated it was a CREDITCARD. Misleading. After she says«You’re approved for $ 2,500″ — I realized what I had done and felt so stupid to give so much information for what I thought was a plain rewards card. I tell her, „You never said credit card. I didn’t want a credit card… I thought it was a plain rewards card.“ Instead of apologizing and offering a solution, she just looks over at her coworker and sighs obnoxiously — as if we just ruined HER day! She then hands us our bag and says „Sorry have a good day…“ 2. MOREHORRIBLESERVICEBYTHEMANAGER: I call the manager at the store to share what happened and see if she has a solution. I didn’t even call to ‘complain.» I was so nice and just recommended she train her staff to properly sell this card as a «Rewards Credit Card.» Not«just a rewards card» as it was presented to me. I admitted I shouldn’t have given so much information. I was mid-conversation with a friend at the counter and rapidly filled out the form without thinking — just expecting what the lady told me I was getting. Then THEMANAGERWASUNHELPFULANDRUDEALSO! She sounded like a miserable automated machine. Said there was nothing she could do. I should call customer service. That was it. … HOWEVER, GREATSERVICEBYCORPORATECUSTOMERSERVICELINE: So I did call Customer Service. I closed the account easily but of course was more concerned over how opening and closing an account would affect my credit score. A woman named Kayla picked up and said there was nothing she could do but give me an address where I can write a written request to the credit bureau department… I request to at least reassure me that their staff will be trained properly to sell this credit card as a CREDITCARD with terms and conditions. Not«just a rewards card that gives you coupons.» She isn’t responsive so I ask to speak to a supervisor. Now this is the part where I turned from vowing never to shop at a Pier 1 again to being open to shop at other Pier 1 locations in the future(never will go to Edgewater again though). A kind woman named ELVA picked up and sympathized with my concerns, acknowledged their mistake, and said she is writing a note to the Pier 1 Credit Bureau department herself and this won’t affect my credit score one bit. Elva acknowledged that I must have been busy or distracted when filling out this form which I though was a simple form that would give me a rewards card… and said this was an understandable oversight and that she will fix it. She said it was also smart of me to request to speak to a supervisor. So if you are unhappy, ask for Elva next time if you want to make amends with a Pier 1 you are agree about. Her kind and caring tone and immediate action to solving my issue kept me as a loyal Pier 1 customer. Thank you Elva!!!

Great store with beautiful things. My Mom is a fan of Pier 1 so I spent a little time here shopping. Items can be pricey and while not one of a kind, very unique looking. I am obsessed with the Swingasan chair which looks so cool but I have absolutely no room for in my apartment. The holiday items were gorgeous and there are some very cute furniture items. Sales are not great but it’s better than paying full price.

It was close to the holidays. I was stressed trying to buy a special gift for my supervisor and friend and the staff was so friendly and came to the rescue. Great people. Good prices :)
