Their chicken is definitely better than the fried chicken next door at hmart, but I’ve definitely had better! Used to having great friend chicken up in Bergen county or in nyc, so definitely a bit spoiled with some high expectations. The chicken is crispy and fresh with and even amount of sauce, which is nice! Also comes with the radish on the side, which is a must, with Korean fried chicken. Only down fall I’d say is the long wait for your food and it gets packed during peak hours, which only make the wait for your food even longer… And if you’re hangry, it’s not the best place to go! I’d suggest calling and ordering ahead of time, but even then, because it gets so busy, there might not be seating!(Also parking is a disaster there) Though overall, definitely one of the better places to get Korean fried chicken around this area! The food is up to par and definitely hits the spot if you’re craving fried chicken!

small wings, decent chickens, and sometimes even overcooked. long wait, must order ahead or expect 15−20min wait. make sure bring cash if order is less than $ 10 or else the cashier will give you a «look», but she still going to take your card, which is annoying. not really looking forward on coming back. i think the chicken place in hmart is better or bonchon in fort lee

When it comes to chicken wing and particularly Korean fried chicken, i’m very picky and have a discriminating taste. There’s two places that you can get from this particular shopping plaza, Kono and Boom-Boom. I love this place because it is a freestanding restaurant and not a part of H-mart so you can dine without having cold air blowing in your face. There will be times where this place can get very quite and borderline depressing. I really wish that they serve at least beer with their wings. It would be a great destination. Their wings are pretty good, sauces are on point and consistent.

One of the best Fried chicken place in Edison. Their sauce is just perfect. Prices are reasonable and descent portions.

DELICIOUSDELICIOUSDELICIOUS! Definitely so yummy. I usually get the 20 piece wings half mild, half spicy. Definitely worth it. My family even likes it. I wish it wasn’t so expensive($ 20 for 20 wings), but I wouldn’t mind paying for it only because it’s the only one I have discovered in the area that is super yummy!

So my wife brought me some lunch from this place. I had a lunch special. I will say the chicken was definitely fresh as were the fries. My only issue(which was completely my fault) is I told my wife get spicy since everywhere I go spicy is usually mild. Well, this place definitely makes the wings spicy lol. They were good but spicier than I expected. Overall I am pleased with this place and will definitely eat there again.

Great fried chicken. Try out the 5 piece lunch menu. The fried chicken comes in either mild, spicy or half & half. You won’t be disappointed, check out the H mart Korean market nearby.

Every once in awhile I get Korean chicken cravings and Boom Boom was the place to go… until today. Ordered Combo 1 in store which is drumsticks and wings and when I got home after 20 min drive ended up with just wings and whatnot. A.K.A not what I ordered. I wasn’t gonna drive another 40 min, so called them to complain and they just told me that«they will put more drumsticks next time and there isn’t price difference.» *rolls eyes* Well, maybe there won’t be no next time. Extremely careless customer service! Which annoys me the most is that the store wasn’t even busy tonight. If I’m wrong though, please hire more people so you don’t mess up the orders.

Don’t usually do reviews but this is the fourth time they have messed up my order. I would have double checked but I had my brother pick up my food. It’s getting pretty annoying. The food is decent but I recommend everyone to double check their order before leaving if you order takeout.

Boom boom chicken is one word delicious. I got the wings only order half mild half spicy. Chicken is made fresh to order so expect a little wait after you order. But you can go next door to the bakery and get dessert for after. The radish was comforting after too many bites of spicy in a row. Tried both the green tea and black sesame ice cream. Loved them. Black sesame almost tastes like peanuts. Loyal customer!

Order the large combo #1 which has both drumsticks and wings. Got the mild flavored. The chicken was rather okay. I just thought it lacked something. Just needed more flavor and taste. It wasn’t «Boom Boom.» It was just chicken. I rather have the Korean fried chicken at H Mart next door. The KFC is better there.

Yes, it takes a good half hour to get your food, but when it arrives it’s fresh, hot, crispy, juicy korean style fried chicken. The spicy is not really spicy but moreso garlicky.

If you go here and order anything other than wings(I’m talking to you, 1-star popcorn chicken guy) you deserve a terrible experience. Korean Fried Chicken is all about the WINGS and Boom Boom does not disappoint. You get two choices: spicy or mild. Get a mixed bag of both. Live life dangerously. If you want Kentucky fried, go there and stop writing bad reviews for good food because you’re an insufferable American.

For those unfamiliar with Korean Fried Chicken(the REALKFC), a visit to Boom Boom Chicken is a must. I’ve been here for lunch, and ordered the lunch special as it was only fitting to do so. The service — quick and efficient, and the chicken isn’t already prepared so plan for a 10-minute wait even with no crowd. The food — Heaven on a plate. Nothing more to say really. Pro-tip: Pop over to the Asian supermarket for some Mochi ice cream to complete the perfect meal.

Boom boom! The chicken here is great. Service is friendly but a bit on the slow side. Waited about 20 min for our food and we were the only customers. At least we know it’s fresh! The flavor and the crispness of the chicken A+ spicy and delicious!

Boom Boom Chicken has some crispy, sticky, spot on Korean fried chicken. It comes in mild sweet soy or spicy sweet chili. With food served fresh and hot and the affordable price point, its a great option for a quasi fast food meal. You order at the front counter, give your name, and 10 minutes later you have delicious fried chicken. The staff are fast, polite, and on top of things. It feels a bit like a family business, but I don’t know enough about them to know if that’s true. Décor is cute. The big front windows let in a lot of natural light and the décor and furniture are nice. The restaurant seats 36, with one large communal table. While there was no line at 1 pm on Sunday afternoon, I still wouldn’t recommend bringing a group larger than 10 people as the space may be tight. Bathrooms are clean, but there is only one. The space is casual enough for a fast meal, but nice enough for bringing grandma without making her think you’re at KFC. Everything is super bright and clean. The food is great, with the namesake boom boom chicken being the bomb. You can get boxes or plates with salads, french fries, or rice. They have edamame and dumplings and pickled daikon if you’re looking for more variety in the sides. The $ 7 lunch special gets you quite a good amount of food and I think its a great deal. Some minor notes — my salad was super over dressed, please take it easy. The spicy sauce is more medium than nuclear, so don’t be shy. I’d love to see an even hotter sauce on the menu!

I love Korean-style wings because the seasonings and spices are phenomenal! The soy garlic and Korean spicy flavors just make your mouth want to water. I used to go get Korean wings at Bonchon in New Brunswick, but that one closed down. I saw this place and decided to give it a try. I ordered #2:(small) wings — half spicy, half soy garlic! The flavors were not bad! I enjoyed the spicy one more because the soy garlic was a bit lacking in flavors, especially after I had a piece of the spicy one. The spicy wings were too strong in flavors in compared to the soy garlic ones, so after eating the spicy one, the flavors of the soy garlic were overshadowed by the spiciness in my mouth. The skin was pretty crispy, but the wings were a little fat. The service was decent — very quick with the ordering and attentive, but it’s self served. The tables were clean and shiny. Btw, outside food and drinks are not allowed!

Really 3.5 stars. It took them 25 minutes to prepare my large order of wings so I had to sit around! Definitely order ahead of time if you go shopping at Hmart. I can appreciate that it is made to order though. It tasted good, especially the spicy flavor chicken. The soy sauce flavor was not quite as good in my opinion. Price wise 20 bucks for 20 smallish wings is a little steep but I guess comparable to bdubs(without the specials or sides). I am still deciding which place I prefer wings at. The place was packed when I went and that is good for them. I can appreciate they are serving a unique food for the area — Korean fried chicken, so I bumped them up to 4 stars.

I’m a big fan of Korean fried chicken… here are my top Korean places to eat: number 1 is Boc Boc chicken, tied for second is Bön Chon, Kono chicken. They are just perfectly fried all the time and the flavor of spicy or soy garlic cannot be beat. Whenever I’m around Freehold NJ I have to stop by Boc Boc, but when I’m around Edison, it’s a must to stop by Kono Chicken I Hmart. Boom Boom you will not last long if you continue to have terrible customer service!!! the worst
