I noticed that some people complained about the price, but if you’ve ever been to a Korean restaurant and you ordered galbi, you know it will be around 20 – 25 bucks for a small portion. Any grown man could eat 2 servings easily. To pay another 10 bucks to eat as many short ribs and other types of meat as I please is well worth it. This place is a KOREANBBQ joint and not a Korean cuisine buffet. Don’t come expecting a variety of Korean dishes. The intent of this place is to feed you meat. This is a place for hungry carnivores. Vegetarians and vegans need not come. I prefer this location over the one in Englewood Cliffs in terms of flavor. Still a great location which I frequent.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been here and today was a bit crazy. So if you have never been here you basically pick your meat and cook on a grill at your table. You will also find all the typical Korean fixings. So it’s very easy to go over board sometimes. Well they got three stars today because they couldn’t keep up with the demand with he meat. They ran out of the kalbi, and pork belly very quickly and you had to wait for more to come out. They had 15⁄20 minute wait but had plenty of open tables. The food though is always to my liking and I’m always stuffed when I leave.

Nomnomnom! Endless. Meat. What more could you want? This place is very reasonable prices and has a good selection. I don’t feel rushed to leave even thought it’s a buffet and the service is attentive. They give you a soup and small bimbimpop for each table and they even have ice cream Can’t wait to go back

I’m not a huge fan of Korean BBQ in general, so I suppress a groan whenever I have to come here. But if you’re a huge meat lover, this is the perfect place. I came here when it first opened when prices were much cheaper and now back a few years later. It’s more worth it to come during lunch at $ 18 per person vs $ 30 at dinner. They have an extensive marinated meat section and some unmarinated. My favorites were the chicken gizzards, cow intestines, and cow heart. I also couldn’t say no to the unmarinated pork belly. My friend did complain the intestines were overly salty. The raw vegetables are less extensive, mainly napa cabbage, onions, sweet potato, and zucchini. In addition to the raw meats and vegetables, they have prepared foods like seafood pancake, jap chae, sweet potato tempura, dumplings, fried fish, fried tofu, sushi, fruit, kimchi, mini corndogs, onion rings, etc. Eat less of these and save room for the more expensive meats. It’s nice that you can also mix your own sauces, but they do also give a plate of soybean sauce and daikon radish to eat with the meat. Everything in the buffet section is nicely labeled so I could easily avoid anything I did not want. They will periodically come around to grill the meat and refill your lettuce for you. I still smelled like Korean BBQ after, but not as bad as usual. At the end of all that bbq-ing you can cool off with ice cream and fruit. They have the typical flavors of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and red bean. 5% discount if you pay in cash. The dining area is huge with no time limit, so if you’re up for it eat for hours.

Personally I feel $ 30 at dinner time is too much for any buffet that doesn’t include lobster tails or King Crab legs. On the other hand, there are plenty of different meats to choose from as well as other items to enjoy too. The service staff is very helpful and did a good job of explaining everything to the novices in our group. I was wavering between 3 or 4 stars but then an upset stomach that night sealed the deal although that may have been a result of eating too much spicy stuff rather than eating a «bad piece of meat».

Came here with my family for the holidays. Personally, the food was quite good. Obviously, since the food was unlimited, we did not have any problems regarding amount. However, it seemed that one type of meat was particularly popular, so the tray with that meat was empty most of the time. Nonetheless, my family and I had a full experience. No pun intended haha. The waiters were very friendly and made sure the customers enjoyed everything. In terms of location, it was very decent since it is located in a shopping center(I want to say?), so after the meal, you can walk around and hang out. Also, there is a 5% discount if you pay with cash. I’d recommend this place for a family or friends gathering if you are looking to be extremely full. That is, if you’re willing to pay ~$ 34.00 per person(more because of tax).

All right korean BBQ buffet where you can eat as much galbi and ssamkyupsal as you want. There’s some variety of side dishes too! If you know you’re gonna be carnivorous, it’s worth your money.

I came here with my friends. it was the first time i tried Korean BBQ/buffet so i was extremely hungry. I have to admit, i didn’t expect this place to be called Picnic Garden so i missed it wbecause it had a different naem. Anyways, the food was good. There are condiments for the food. The Meat was alright. The sides are tasty and well done. The sauces are deserving of a little change. Maybe more along the lines of slightly salty. Better be lowered a bit. other than that, it is worth it. The pirce is $ 32 per person but then we ha 15 people so… recommened.

A very reasonable Korean BBQ, with touches of authenticity I did not expect in a random place in NJ. Kimchi, condiments for your meat, sauces, soups were very typical. The cuts of meat were so-so, missing beef cuts and with a debatable set of other starters and sides including kimchi maki, which would probably get both Koreans and Japanese to run away screaming. Service was not bad, even if I would not rate it excellent. All in all excellent value for price at lunch.

This is the first time I tried Korean bbq and I thoroughly enjoyed it! We came here on a Sunday evening and the place was considerably packed, but we still had a free table waiting for us right away. The price was reasonable for a party of two:$ 32 for as much food you can eat! We told the waitress that we never tried Korean bbq before and she was kind enough to help us by recommending popular food choices. I liked how the restaurant had a buffet with a nice variety of Korean food, such as red meats, kimchi, and an assortment of vegetables. We chose thinly-sliced beef, octopus, and shrimp for the main part of the meal. The tables have a grill set in the middle, so you get to cook the food right in front of you! The waitress also brought a free omelet and a spicy tofu soup. We ate the beef by topping it with radish and seaweed and wrapping it in a lettuce leaf. It was a unique experience and I am planning to come back soon!

Absolutely love this location! I have tried this one and the one on Northern Blvd in queens. I like this one better. In my opinion it’s the same in terms of the choices and meat selections and everything, but it has bigger tables, and more room to sit without being cramped with other parties as well. Still I like both. The meats are deliciously seasoned and they have so much choice. Dinner is more worth it. I love the beef and pork choices. Lamb is also delicious. I recommend to try at least one of every kind of meat they have. The veggies are also good on the grill. I like the appetizers too but I try not to fill up too much on those. Oh, and it’s BYOB in this location. We usually get at least 3 – 4 plates of just meat. I grilled the zucchini and mushrooms too and they were a good addition. I wouldn’t recommend a vegetarian to come here it wouldn’t be worth it lol. The kimchi fried rice is good and also the beef radish soup. They have bolgogi sushi rolls which are ok. The fries dumplings aren’t that great. But come here for the meat and you won’t be disappointed.

Picnic garden is a buffet-style korean barbecue restaurant located in the same complex as H-mart, Paris Baguette, and several other Asian restaurants and shops. Not only does Picnic Garden offer raw meat, seafood, and vegetables for the grill, but it also serves cooked food like a regular Asian buffet. Usually, when I go here, I tend to eat the barbecue food only, cause it’s more fun to grill your own food and eat! The food is average, but the price is pretty good. Lunch costs about $ 16 per adult, which is about $ 20 with tax and tip. For korean bbq, that’s a quite decent price because it’s common and easy to spend about $ 30 – 40 per person. Make sure to get the ribs if you go there for dinner! It’s delicious! Tender and meaty!(And it makes your money worth it cause that’s the most expensive meat there! hehee) The service tends to be great! Somehow, they can spot you if you’re new to this place and they would grill the meats and veggies for you in the beginning to show you how to do it! They would always come around to change your metal grill cause after a while the grill turns black from the meat and sauces! It’s not amazing, but it’s good for a quick fix and for large parties! I never need to wait for a table and they are very accommodating with big crowds.

My typical Picnic Garden routine: 1) get lots of the short ribs and put it on the table, 2) while that’s grilling, get other foods including more ribs, some bulgogi, kimchi, cucumbers, etc, 3) inhale everything and when the last plate of meat starts cooking, get more meat, 4) eat some ice cream and take a break, 5) repeat. Although prices are higher on the weekends and for dinner, the dinner selection is worth it.

Went recently for dinner. Great place to go for Korean BBQ. Apparently my limit is 2 plates stacked high with meat. :P Those thin cut meats are deceptively filling. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. They provided me with free appetizers, put the meat on the grill for me, cut it up, and spread it out evenly. I point this out because when I went to the Englewood Cliffs branch they didn’t provide me with appetizers or spread the meat out neatly which makes it hard to cook the meat evenly. I had no complaints. Quick Tip: They have the same meats at the Hmart next door. So if you want to cook Korean BBQ at home, it’s a great alternative.

I love that this place is buffet style. They have some great choices. I wouldn’t say that this is the best Korean food in the area, but it is still really good. It certainly doesn’t stop me from coming back often. The service is good, the food is good, the price is good. It’s a well rounded place and I always have a fun time here! It’s BYOB and they don’t mind you hanging out for a few hours, eating and drinking! The kim chi soup has to be my favorite thing from here!

I always frequent the Hmart next door or the Malaysian restaurant(Coco) nearby and always thought that the idea of a Korean BBQ buffet was a ridiculous idea. But I finally made my way over to try on a Saturday evening for my brother’s birthday. It blew me away! The variety of meats, seafood, and prepared food was amazing! The service is top notch for a buffet and frequently replenish the food as well as changing our grill frequently and helping us cook out meat. It was a great experience and a great deal for a group of people who might have different diets(a few folks don’t eat beef) and it was accommodated very well. Can’t wait to come back!

Five quick reasons why this place is the best: 1. The best price for the quality of meat that I’ve seen in awhile. Get the LABBQ if you’re looking for the tastiest meat but it’s also the one that runs out the quickest. 2. BYOB. Yes, you heard me BYOB and they will chill the beer for you if you ask. 3. Two thumbs up for service. The waiters will go around, cut the meat for you, change the grills every so often and get what you command in an instant. I would say these waiters do a lot more for their customers than a lot of other restaurants just because there are additional steps. So do them a favor and tip well. 4. Not only is there meat but there are SIDES, ICECREAM, FRUIT, SOUP and an abundance of food! AND all of it is actually tasty. 5. Your clothes will smell like bbq. Your shoes will smell like bbq. Your hair will smell like bbq. Your breath will smell like bbq. I’m not sure if that’s a pro or a con. I debate it all the time but I’ll just put it in this list. There’s only one rule at unlimited BBQ: Don’t be that idiot that cuts the line.

Ambiance/Décor/Atmosphere: Wood, wood, and more wood with high ceilings and warehouse like structures. Pretty boring, dull, and drab, and the wood seats are painful to sit on. Super small grill that can only cook two people’s food at a time, but the booth is big enough to seat eight. Pretty odd. Noise/sound level: Went with a friend on a Friday at 5pm and it was a ghost town. The wait staff made more sound than anything; a bit echoey because it is large, but not really a huge issue. I gather if this place gets really busy with the tight seating you could be hearing others’ conversation. Menu: Korean BBQ buffet where you cook your own food. Service: Not too bad, helpful with the cooking when need be, attentive to some degree, but nothing outrageous. Make the wait staff use more than one pair of tongs; cross contamination is rampant in this place. Food: Various cuts of meat; kalbi, bulgogi, pork belly, ribs, chicken, shrimp, fried rice, sushi, and kimchi to name a few. All of this sits in metal bins raw, swimming in it’s own blood and juice. Honestly, when I laid my eyes on this it was pretty gnarly. The bulgogi was my favorite choice, most of the other meat was tough and fatty. The kimchi and fried rice were the best items of the day. Bar: BYOB which seems like a good idea, but since it’s a buffet I’m paying to eat, not sit in your restaurant to drink all of my own liquor. Price: At roughly $ 30 a person the price is ridiculous for what you get. Yes it’s a buffet, but it’s not worth the price at all. There are other buffets in other towns that can give equally low quality fare for less than half the price. No, I don’t want to routinely serve myself mediocre beef or fatty pork belly. Overall: I really wanted to like this; a Korean BBQ buffet seemed like an awesome experience since I really enjoy Korean food. But, no, the cross contamination skeeved me out. I don’t want raw chicken on the same grill as cooking beef, fish, or pork. And, the wait staff should know not to handle cooking or cooked meat with the same tongs as they handled raw meat with. Again, the blood bath that is marinating meat in the metal trays is not attractive. Lastly, self serve ice cream dessert from wide open ice cream containers is also pretty unsanitary. What if one customer had open wounds on their hands, or licked their spoon and went back in for more ice cream? No thanks, I’ll pass.

Tried as I may, I could not find one single thing to minus a star five out of five. It’s an all you can eat buffet. At first I thought, «oh god! Germs, inferior meats, dirty utensils and plates, poor service.» I am very happy to state I was wrong on all accounts. We were greeted by a young host as he led us to a very nice clean table. In fact, all the tables were spotless. No pile up of dishes to be seen anywhere. As he seats us, he tells us the price to ensure we don’t get a heart attach. We are fine. It’s $ 25.99 per person on Saturday for lunch. He then tells us where the food are etc. As we three bring the raw meats to the table to grill, someone already started the grill for us. The minute we sit down with our plates, somebody is taking the meats, putting it on the grill for us. Let’s the meat cook and then they use kitchen shears to cut them into bite size pieces. They also constantly change the grill top to ensure its always clean. Constantly filling and refill in your water or tea. Yes, you can order soda and it comes out to you in cans. All meats and veggies were so fresh. No odd smell because I would have no shame walking out. We had a great time and not once felt hurried. Will definitely be back. Keep up the great job Picnic Garden.

I wish I could provide ½ star ratings because Picnic Garden falls right into the 3.5 — 4.0 star range. Picnic Garden is a Korean style BBQ buffet which I think is run by the same people as the Picnic Garden in Flushing, Queens. A large seating area with a large buffet area was all laid out very efficiently and clean. The buffet had many Korean classics like Kim Chi, pickled radish, pickled cucumber, seafood pancake, bonchon chicken, grilled Mackerel, and various tofu dishes. There was also Kim Chi fried rice, some salads, some sushi rolls, some Tempura dishes, ans several soups. You may be disappointed in some of the buffet foods as they were all pedestrian in my opinion; even the Kim Chi was a tad mute(though I have a high tolerance for spicy food). Onto the meat… The lunch menu is clearly truncated compared to the dinner offerings as evident by several of the buffet trays still with their covers on. One of the yummier Korean BBQ offerings, Kalbi(Korean beef short ribs) was sadly not available for lunch but the available meats such as Korean marinated pork strips, pork belly(bacon), chicken, beef(bulgogi), pork spare ribs, and octopus were all on hand. My favorites were the pork belly and the bulgogi as both were fresh and had yummy amounts of fat; yes my secret shame… I like my meat fatty :) Also of note was that all of the meats were seasoned very well with Korean marinades like gochujang(spice red pepper paste), minus the pork belly which is served unseasoned. Provided with the meal were some lettuce wraps to contain those yummy meats, cut down on the meal’s overall richness, and probably served as a reminder to eat healthier, but I just used one of the several wraps. The dessert foods were limited to pineapple chunks, orange slices, and ice cream(chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry). Service was very good. The woman who came around making sure the meat was being cooked properly, cutting the larger meats into smaller easier to eat pieces, and swapping out the grill grate when they became too charred was clockwork-like, cold, and efficient. Though she did laugh a bit when she pointed out to me that my pork belly was done only for me to respond by telling her to leave it on the grill(I like a little char on my pork belly as it’s mostly fat so it’ll stay moist). Note to future servers… don’t touch my pork belly! Picnic Garden provided some pretty darn good value for lunch(right at $ 17 per person), considering the good quality of the food(primarily the meat of course) on hand. I’ll definitely try the dinner buffet one day just to see what other meat and seafood offerings are available.
