I have a Chinese restaurant one minute from my home yet I still order from this Chinese joint. I love their sweet and sour chicken, white rice, and chicken and broccoli in the garlic sauce, and spare ribs(on the bone). Yes some of the staff are short, probably because their English is limited, but they have never been rude to me. I always ask for tea bags because I love the oolong tea they have and they always add them in complimentary. I am a take-out Chinese foodie, but every time I pick up the dining area is presentable and clean. Overall, this is my favorite Chinese food spot in my area and I recommend it to all my fellow Unilocalers.

these days some stores just sell anything for money, so i ordered chinese food from here during dinner and i literally had a hard time eating their general tso combo, chicken was clearly fried more than once, was soggy and hard wtih grease, i mean, i know sometimes things like this happens to people especially if people order around at night time but still, there’s a limit. i will not order from here again

We used eat at the place all the time and used to love it. For a chinese restaurant they were very polite and friendly. I happened to stop for a month and oh my what a difference a month makes. They raised prices by $ 2 on some items. The staff is so rude. I usually get their small container of hot chilly oil with my food and the guy charged me 25 cents. And when I asked him he said«every thing costs money». Seriously? I always put 2 – 3 dollars plus my change in the tip box and this guy was asking me 25 cents for some hot sauce. Too petty. He was also very nasty and unpleasant. Not sure what happened in a month but the lo mein was burnt, chicken was over cooked. Their quality and attitude has changed.

I got Kung pau chicken from here and it probably was the worst Kung pau I’ve ever eaten. There were hardly any pieces of chicken and the entire dish just was so tasteless! I would never go back to this place ever again!

Amazing food, awesome staff, and fast service. There is nothing I can complain about in this place. The staff treat you really well and sometime give you free soda when you make a large order. The food is ready fast every time. Most importantly they make it really well. Defiantly one of the best Chinese places in the area.

I usually go with the dinner combo platters that come with your choice of pork fried rice or white rice, brown rice is also available, and an egg roll. The white rice is spot on and I haven’t had an issue with the brown rice ever being under cooked like some other places in the area. The pork fried rice is really flavorful but at the same time it’s not overwhelmed with salt. 4 platters I’ve gone with since discovering this place: pepper steak with onions, chicken with broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, and General Tso’s Chicken. All are really good and they don’t go crazy with the sauces. For example, I’ve had chicken with broccoli and General Tso’s from other Chinese restaurants and they tend to drown the food in the sauce. Cheng Garden II knows exactly how much sauce to add! The fried or steamed dumplings are really good here and when ordered fried, the dumpling is sautéed for the right amount of time and the dough is not burned. The steamed dumplings just melt in your mouth. FYI the dumplings are not CostCo bought deep fried dumplings. The reason I mention it is because a lot of local restaurants tend to get their supply from the frozen food isle at the local wholesaler. Chicken noodle soup is also good here and is served with the crispy flat noodles. All in all a good, local eatery!

So this is actually Cheng’s Garden II, and it is THEBEST Chinese food I’ve had in the past 5 years in the area. The general tso’s was crunchy and not over sauced and they had scallion pancakes that were thin enough not to be over doughy with a nice amount of scallion in it. The bbq ribs were nice and meaty and perfectly cooked. The filling for the crab rangoon was delicious and not overly sweet. I want to check out the rest of my favorites from here, but what I got was spectacular. The only complaint would be it is a little on the expensive side, but SOOOOO good.
