Worst fucking restaurant I ate in my life!!! Food and bathroom were absolutely disgusting and I can’t understand why the hell that place was packed with patrons. Food was poor quality and looked like it had been sitting for hours. Didn’t even finish plate #1 before we said fuck it, paid and left.

Disgusting! Super greasy, old food that’s been sitting out too long. Many of the selection was not replenished so hardly any items. The bathroom was so dirty, no soap, no paper towels, freezing cold water. I even was in there with a employee and asked about soap and towels. She pretended to make an effort to look around for some, then shrugged. The only thing edible was the french fries at this Chinese buffet. Ha!

I went there to check it out and went in to see flies all around the food. I was disgusted, said I wasn’t my money back, and left.

*EDIT* 9÷27÷12 — I was by there earlier in the week and it looked closed. No lights, no outside lights either. I gave this place 3 tries before never returning. I shouldn’t have returned after the 2nd, but my sister insisted(tired, cranky, hungry!!!) Still as horrible as the first time. It seems like the life was sucked out of the life of the waitstaff. Zombies? I felt bad for them… but we tried to be friendly and say thank you when they took away our plates and refilled our drinks. We got a smile out of one of them. The food is just not good. There are people in there, but everything was old, not hot… not even warm. Everything was wilted and full of oil and the sushi was disgusting. The only thing you’ll get out of eating here is a stomach ache.

My friend took me to this place for the first time four years ago. I was impressed with the amount of seafood and how great the food was for a buffet. I continued to go there after that rather often. I love chinese food. Last year though i saw the place change. They didnt have as much seafood as they once had. They food the last several times i went was old. It was sitting for a long while. The chicken was actually rock hard!!! Must have been sitting for hours. I am a fan of chinese hot mustard. They use to always have. The last four times i was there, they never had it. I complained to the woman at the register and she could of cared less . But then again i guess what do you expect at these cheap buffets.

This used to be Grand Buffet. They recently reopened under the name«Hibachi Grill» so we decided to give this place a try. There’s nothing«new» about this place. It looks like the new owners(if in fact they’re different people, not just the old owners changing restaurant name, very common for Chinese eateries) didn’t bother changing the décor since everything looks like it’s 20 years old. Our waitress was obviously unskilled: she stood where she blocked our seats so we couldn’t sit until she took our drink orders. A quick walk around the buffet area revealed that the food(at least in looks/smell) is far below the standards of the cheapest Chinese take out. The majority of the items were unlabeled. You have to guess what they are or you’d have to ask someone(if they even know). Eg. there are these little lumps fried in a batter. Is it fish inside? Chicken? Nuclear waste? Guess correctly and you win a prize! Some of the items look like they’ve been sitting there since the Nixon years. There are a few items that look regurgitated. The manager/owner didn’t take complaints very well either. Very rude and confrontational. Don’t ever waste your money there. There are far better choices around. PS: Their print ads show a URL( ) but it’s apparently dead.

Just had lunch at Edison Grand Buffet today. The food is neither fresh nor taste good. And there are not a lot of variety like other buffet. I would not go back again.

EDIT: New name and new review under Hibachi Grill and Buffet. I absolutely loved Grand Buffet back when I lived in Edison. My family ate here the night we moved to Edison, actually. I may be a bit biased because, over 7 years of regularly eating here, we got to know the restaurant staffers, but I always love the food. It’s not gourmet and sometimes it’s been out for a bit, but I’m a little bit surprised by how negative the reviews are. It’s typical Chinese buffet fare and they’ve expanded a lot since my first visit here in 1999. The sushi bar is great; when we were quite familiar with the new sushi bar staff, they gave us a sashimi boat.(The few pieces I had were quite good, but I’m not much of a sushi connoisseur.) I always get the same thing when I’m there: start off with some garlic bread and egg drop soup(surprisingly good when dipped!) and then I go on to just eat way too much. Like I said, standard Chinese buffet fare plus dim sum foods. Also they have a lot of great little cakes and cookies at the dessert bar. And just for fun, if you tell the staff that you’re celebrating a birthday, they’ll play happy birthday throughout the restaurant. It can be a bit uncomfortable to be the birthday girl/boy and have«Happy Birthday» in English and Chinese sung by children blared throughout the restaurant. I didn’t see our usual familiar faces on my last visit, so I don’t know if they changed management and if that will affect the quality of the restaurant, but I love it here. It is, as of now, my favorite Chinese buffet.

Very limited selection, food was not fresh and tasted like cardboard. I’d rather eat regular chinese. One of the worst chinese buffet that I ever visited.

This was the first time I ever left an all-you-can-eat place hungry. Besides that many of the dishes were not filled or entirely missing(e.g., Shrimp, Crab Legs, sushi, some of the dim sums, NY Steak, BBQ ribs, scallops, etc.) what they did have was not appetizing. Although I can appreciate good gourmet food, I can also enjoy buffet fare and indulge in the quantity of food I receive. When they did bring out the shrimp, it tasted funny, and since the shrimp was bad i did not even hazard to taste the clams. When they finally made a small amount of sushi it was thinly sliced california rolls and philedelphi rolls made with crab leg instead of salmon. Many of the dishes I tried were just not good — and I can honestly say that some of it was disgusting. Either too peppery, too salty, or to bland, or just plain tasted horrible — not to mention that some food, including the soup were luke warm(even the sushi). They did have a limited number of «kid» type dishes like pizza and french fries, but my kids basically said that there stuff was disgusting(and they said it out loud), No one at my table ate much — even the desert was a disapointment, there was no chocolate ice cream. I have eaten at a ton of these types of places and I may not love everything they have, but there is always a few things that I can find that I enjoy. Here I was not able to find anything, and I tried a number of the dishes. If you bring kids, be wary if your kid is tall, since you pay«adult» prices based on height, and not age(and we paid the Sunday 12.99 price). Also the waitress stood over me to see how much tip I was giving her. She brought by soda(we did not get any refils) once and came by to pick up the dishes once. When we got home I made everyone sandwiches. I will not be going back. Update: My review was straight on point — the place is now closed.

You stand a 50⁄50 chance of getting good, fresh food on any given day. When it’s good, it’s good but when it’s bad it’s down right terrible. One day I couldn’t even get an egg roll. My biggest problem with this place is the owner’s out of control children running around and making noise. If you want to get some ok Chinese food in peace pray before you go that the food is fresh & go before the kids get out of school. Never on a holiday, never on the weekend.

Came here after shopping and found out the buffet was only $ 12.99pp(weekend dinner price) and were willing to give it a shot. They had crab legs, stone crabs, sushi, clams, dim sum, and even lobster(very limited quantity). Half way into my meal, two tour buses stopped in the parking lot and groups of people started to pour in; everything was brought again, nice n’ fresh, and we were happy campers. Finished off the meal with some soft-served ice cream and pineapples. Overall, I would only give a 2-star to the quality of food and taste, but for $ 12.99, one can’t complaint too much.

DISGUSTING!!! Is this food for people or for animals??? It’s like serving leftovers of leftovers. NOTHING is edible here! You’ll do much better eating McDonalds or Subway. At least it’ll stay down. No matter how desperate you are for Chinese food, don’t submit yourself to this. This place should stand by for food and sanitary inspections! They failed miserably in my books!

Just awful the worst place I ever ate in my life. We went to dinner here at 7PM. The food was sitting around for hours where it was dry and cold. I can’t believe I paid for food like this. If you are going to eat here, see the food that is being served. If it looks like it has been sitting around for hours, it probably has. Take my word for it — walk out and save your money for a real hot meal. It is just plain insulting to serve food like this to paying customers. Plates are not throughly cleaned and the bathroom is super run down. The woman’s room is missing half of the toilet seat.

Great place. I have been to my share of Chinese buffets around here. This one is without a doubt one of the very best. The thing I love most about this place is that their food is fresh. I been there twice. I had lunch for the first time, and the breaded fried fish was my favorate. I had dinner for the second time, and the stone crab is absolotely amazing. As a seafood lover, i cannot be more happy to have fresh fish and crabs!

$ 12.99(4) Sunday dinner $ 11.99 daily. Reasonable prices, friendly atmosphere, service was good. Food was real good and they have a variety of different types of food, inculding sushi and meats cooked on the grill. Lots of different type of shrimp. No complaints here, just had to ask for a crab leg cracker.

Asian Chinese buffet… not too many in the area as I recall. One of my relative’s dives so we came here for dinner one night. They have quite a selection and you won’t be disappointed for the price. The sushi is average and the hot food is better. They even have a dessert selection you will be going back for.

i was craving for some chinese food and what better way to satisfy it than to go overboard at a Chinese buffet??? They have a good spread here. I scanned the buffet before piling my plate and was impressed by the abundance of seafood options, especially shrimps. So many! they also have oysters, clams, fish, crabs but we just zeroed in on the king crab legs. everything else is secondary! and they were fresh and meaty! The crab legs were frequently getting refilled — bet its the most popular dish here. another thing i really enjoyed was the sweet cream shrimps, which was like glazed shrimps. oh… very nicely done. There is a sushi bar too but nothing out of the ordinary so i’d say save the stomach space for the other stuff. for desserts there are lots of fruits, cookies, cakes, sweet sticky rice and soft serve. I appreciated the crushed peanuts as my sundae topping. Great price — $ 15, considering how much crab legs we ate! but the atmosphere — dull and drabby. your typical chinese buffet setting…
