My friend and I were going to Grand Buffet and found it is now Hibachi Grill and Buffet. The selection was limited, quality was bad, and the price was expensive for what they offer ($ 12 lunch). We will never go back.

Filthy, dirty, and disgusting. The food is old and dried out. Everything is covered in a layer of grime.

I used to come here all the time when it was Grand Buffet. We were in Edison and saw this sign that said «HIBACHI GRILL AND SUPREME BUFFET» instead of our familiar Grand Buffet one. They had JUST opened for lunch, so I will excuse the fact that the food wasn’t set up when we got there. A little bit.
Everything else was pretty unsatisfying.
We were seated in one of the worst booths in the empty restaurant. The seat was all ripped and cracked, and I was pretty unhappy about that. We were literally the only patrons, and I didn’t understand why they put us in such a worn-​out booth. Then, the staff ate right next to us on the other side of the little barrier, so that was a bit awkward for me, because my face was next to someone else’s face. This wouldn’t be a problem ordinarily except, again, the entire restaurant was EMPTY. I don’t know why we were as cozy as we were, especially considering we haven’t known the owners and staff personally in several year since the restaurant changed hands.
Food took a while getting set up, and that’s fine and all, but they really took their time with just taking off the lids for the food. It was awkward for us because we wanted to eat… and only 8 dishes were out and available. Also, many items didn’t have serving utensils, which just added to the overall awkwardness.
The food itself was fine. Selection is the same as it was it was the Grand Buffet, and I’ve always enjoyed their food. It’s not perfection but it hits the spot.
Our service was also fine. Which it better have been, considering we were the only patrons for our first 20 minutes.
I give the 1.5 stars because food and service was right and because I hold this restaurant pretty dear to my heart, but I was extremely disappointed with my visit.
