Harold’s New York Deli

K let me preface this review by saying our time eating there was awesome. Our food tasted great and it was worth every penny… until we took our food home! We ordered a sandwich to go (wrapped in foil) and cheesecake. Well, when i opened up the bag to feed some to my two year old daughter… a cockroach crawled out of the foil! I was able to smack it dead with my hand, while escaping on the counter! I live in a very nice home (clean) and the last thing I need is an infestation of roaches! K, so our bill was 109 $ so I felt horrible throwing out EVERYTHING we took home with us, but I was totally FREAKED OUT! So, a couple hours later my son went to through our trash out and the white kitchen trash bag bumped into the brown bag from Harold’s…AND ANOTHER ROACH ESCAPED FROM THE BAG! I am writing this review bc I called Harold’s and they rushed me off the phone. I wasn’t calling for a refund, I honestly wanted to alert them of this issue to save them from any other issues! The owner said «I don’t see how that can happen considering we have an exterminator». Well, I am very sad that I have to write this. We will not be eating there, ever again.

Went there yesterday for the first time. Best food ever the portions are huge so our table of five shared the food. Had the turkey sandwich and turkey melted in your mouth. The cheese blintz were the best I ever had. The potato pancake was ok and brought half of it home after everyone tried it. The pastrami Reuben was the best of the best can’t say enough about this everyone should try this. There is a pickle bar with a nice variety, try the health salad for sure. Then to top it off my husband had a milk shake again enough for two or more people and we were daring and ordered the éclair. OMG it was gigantic we probably only ate one quarter of it and had the rest wrapped to go. Our waiter Jesus was a great server and put the remaining éclair on ice since we weren’t going right home. Place was clean and organized. The prices were a little high but you did get big portions. I will be going back and bringing friends.
