I can’t say enough about Moghul. The food, service and hospitality are amazing. My wife and I come here every Friday night and again sometimes Sunday for the amazing lunch buffet. We’ve tried other Indian food nearby in the past just to say we have and they don’t stack nearly as close to Moghul. For us its more about enjoying dinner, for $ 40 you can’t beat it. I think we’ve brought every person we know to Moghul and whenever we meet Moghul comes up in conversation! Such a great place to go have a meal, everything is great, and the staff are so professional. I’d recommend Moghul to anyone!

Moghul is one of our favorite places to dine out locally in Edison. At times, I conduct Business meetings. Tonight, we ordered Kadai Gosht and Bhendi Okra Masala — both delicious! Tandoori Roti were freshly prepared and simply awesome. Highly recommended!

The server was not rude but he didn’t greet us or anything. We ordered reshami kabaab, keema naan, onion kulcha and butter chicken. And keema naan and butter chicken were stale. I instantly felt sick after eating these. I told the server that the food is stale. He didn’t apologize to us for anything. Nor did he call the manager. He gave us the check and we left. Me and my friend were so sick from eating the food we hurried out. Never going back to them

One of our favorite spots, We love the food here, we bring lots of family and friends, they all love it! the ambience is comfortable and the service is excellent, Melvin is always super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. One of our usuals is the chicken tikka. And Hakka Noodles. They also have great appetizers… A must if you are in Edison. I highly recommend it!

Great place. We have been coming here for 20 years. The quality of the food is consistently good. Ambience can sometimes be loud but for service and Indian food you can’t do better

Beware 18% service charge included… Food quality is ok but not great. We ordered veg and chicken dishes and it was hit or miss. Portions are in small size and definitely not enough for 1 person. Service staff is little rude. I will not recommend if you consider value for money.

— Saturday, December 19 We had reservations for 7PM on Saturday, December 19, when we arrived a few minutes later there was no wait as the restaurant was about 80% full. We were greeted by the Manager Ved who was nice enough to seat us immediately followed by Melvin who recommended a few special items and drinks. Overall we were impressed by the place, food was quite delicious and drinks were made well. I would give this restaurant another try if we are in the area. It is located on the other side of the parking lot — so if you are using Google Maps make sure enter from the rear of the building. The manager was nice to bring some dessert for us to sample, which we were quite grateful for. Thanks to Ved and Melvin for a great evening.

The reason why I am giving this place a 2 star is because I feel like it is overrated. I don’t give 2 stars out that often, but when I do I think it truly deserves it. I know this restaurant has built relationships with some great powerful people, which is good for business. However, I do believe it is lacking in some areas and the essence of good indian food has been overlooked. As a vegetarian, I was appalled at the terrible selection at the lunch buffet. The only good thing was the paneer. The other vegetarian entrée was just random vegetables in some spices and a flavorless potato dish. The naan was ok, not great. As for the dessert, i think that was the strong suit because theyve had rubri, kheer, and gulab jamun which has been delicious. Other than that, I think much can be improved with the selection of dishes.

Only speaking for what I tried. Paneer tikka, could have been a little spicier buy really good. One of the best I’ve had in the US. Veg chili garlic noodles, totally awesome. I’ll be back soon.

Great place, good ambiance and great service. It is usually bustling with people. It has one of the best chicken tikka masala. I have tried at many places but this comes very near to the Indian one. We also ordered Gosht shahi korma, it was also amazing. Awesome food. The prices are good for the portion and quality. This is one of the top Indian restaurants in NJ and highly recommend this place.

3.5 stars, really. The food came out fairly quickly, which was great. This place gets packed on a weekend, and I mean people bringing their entire families for lunch kind of packed. There are tables for dining in, but not THAT many. There’s also an outdoor space as well. Take-out is huge at this place. We got the eggplant in garlic sauce and a soup(I think coriander soup? It was green). The eggplant was kind of bleh. It was doused in so many different spices and sauces that I couldn’t even actually taste the eggplant. The soup was very starchy — had to add some water to dilute it. If I was ever in this area again, I would certainly give them a go. However, I don’t expect that to happen anytime soon, as I was here randomly anyway.

Awesome place. The food was delicious. They hosted a Unilocal event and the staff was so good. The food was so good. I have to get back here and sit for a full meal. The drinks were very good. This is a bookmark for me for sure.

This has long been one of the top Indian restaurants in NJ and is part of the most successful Indian restaurant operation in NJ – they also own Ming in Morristown and Edison and Mehndi and SM23 in Morristown. This is one of the most popular places for Indian people in Edison seeking an upscale dinner. Top dishes include anything tandoori; chicken 65 and rogan josh. The décor is very nice and service superb. Yes, I wish fancy Indian places did not charge for rice, so the bill may sneak up on you, but the food is top quality. To avoid crowds, go before 730. Lunch buffets are also good here.

Date of visit: 7÷17÷15 Dishes I tried: chicken 65, naan, chicken tikka masala, rice, rasmalai, kulfi The restaurant was neat and nice ambiance. I did make a reservation so there was no wait. Food was ok. Naan was really good and rasmalai was excellent, hence the three stars. Service was middle of the road. I think it was a bit pricey being that the main dish ordered didn’t come with any rice or bread. Everything needed to be ordered separately which adds up: chicken tikka masala ~$ 16, white rice — $ 4, raita-$ 6, coke-$ 3.50(I consider that pricey). The portions were decent sizes. Chicken tikka was bland, didn’t find it flavorful at all! I most likely will not come back here simply because there are so many Indian restaurants in edison and there was nothing that stood out at moghul that I would go back for.

Great Sunday buffet. 5 stars for ambience, the only reason I give it four stars is they didn’t have enough of a vegetarian selection. Granted the place is called moghul– so we shouldn’t expect a large selection, but it would be appreciated! Great food otherwise! The paneer, korma and garlic noodles were delicious, the dal makhani was under par. Good service, only thing to note is they add an eighteen percent service charge. Recommended if you’re in the area.

Buffet! Buffet! God I love buffets. This place has a reasonable buffet. Nice ambiance and décor. The food was tasty. The samosas were AMAZING. Tip: come there for weekday buffet. It is 11.99 per person. Now that this review is out of the way, I shall drop some Jay Z track to seal this deal… come to think of it. I’ll just drop Punjabi mc instead: You gotta dance/shake your butt because after you eat you will find yourself entering a food coma. So start blasting this song on your way home. Btw jay z is a rap mogul. how fitting.

Place crowded. I guess they are doing something right. Otherwise very very highly priced compared to other similar places near by. Food was comparable to places near by. Décor is good again nothing to mention about. We had sheek kababs, lamb biryani. Which was not spicy. Great for a pleasant evening experience.

Came for buffet on a Sunday. Food is excellent and there’s lots of varieties for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. They could do better job arranging the tables so that people aren’t crammed . Overall good experience

I’ve gone three times as a large group and I’ve had a generally OK experience. The service trumps the food, which is nothing special. I sometimes wish It was more fresh…, I just can’t tell when it was made. The entrees are pricey for dinner. Like most Indian places, you’ll probably have a better experience if you go for a lunch time buffet. It is more cost effective and you try more. The chicken tikka masala is heavy on tomatoes and crème but the tandoori chicken is just right.

Service: Ambiance was confusing. They have booths with plush comfy benches and tables to seat small groups/couples. It really can be whatever you make it– a date night with someone special, or a night out in your jeans with kids. Service was exceptional. Our server was so good with checking in on us, he wasn’t pushy and gave us great suggestions! Food was brought out in a timely manner and drinks refilled without asking. When i asked for a soda refill, he actually brought out a small caraffe with diet coke– highly appreciated and classy. Food: EXCELLENT. I genuinely believe all indian restaurants can be a hit or a miss– this was definitely a hit. Our mixed grill(in the tandoor menu but we ordered as an appy) — highly filling with 1 huge piece of a half tandoor chicken, two pieces of fish, shrimp and sheeh kabaab were delicious. Chicken was JUICY and definitely one of the best tandoori chicken ive had since i left india in 99. Our butter chicken was abundant in portion and flavor. We also ordered 4 pieces of naan + lamb biryani + eggplant curry– everything was delicious and was enough to feed 5 hungry family members. Con: Kind of expensive. 5 people: 4 beers + 1 chicken curry + 1 lamb biryani + 4 naans + 1 soda + veg dish = 150(incl. gratuity automatically added). With so many indian options on oak tree, this kinda price tag is uncalled for. However, they must be doign something right — to be able to still charge such a hefty price for their menu(and lunch buffet as well, 12 $ acc to other Unilocalers). Its a nice, occasional family treat– and if someone else is paying, ill be back ;)
