Terrible customer service and terrible blowout. Do not go here! My blowout didn’t even last an hour! And then when I asked for them to fix it they wanted to charge me for a whole other blowout! Unbelieveable!!!

Did you ever go to a new salon and held your breath not knowing what will happen at the end? I’m sure we all have experienced that… so did I when I tried Salon G for the first time last week. Well… there is no need for any nervous jitters, you’re truly in wonderful hands! My highlights are amazing, something that I couldn’t get for many, many months and my new haircut is everything that I wanted and more. Thank you Gina for a wonderful job, you made my Saturday and upcoming B’day much more special. Stephanie is also amazing, my boyfriend’s haircut was perfect, and he is also a very happy camper. It was great meeting you all, best of luck to you guys, I’m looking forward to be back soon.

Best hair salon ever. I came in with a pink hair that my last salon fucked up and I decide to come here to do my hair even if is a 40 min drive. I’m so happy I did they fixed my hair and gave me the color I wanted from the beginning. They treat their Custmor the best I love going there. This definitely going to be the new salon I go to. ask for Jeannie she the best she fixed my hair :)

All I will say is I cried the whole way home after I came for highlights and left with my hair way darker than when I came in (blonde) and much shorter than what I asked for. I spent way too much money and time here — 3 hours! I called to ask to have it fixed and they can’t fit me in during the times I’m available and will only fix color within a week so I will need to get it fixed elsewhere. Also, when I called to say it was too dark, the lady just responded with «this was the color we agreed on.» And then suggested I wash it a few times so it will fade… She also said that was the amount of highlights included in the Groupon, so doing more would cost extra, which makes no sense considering I have naturally blonde hair and came in for highlights and left with dark brown hair! How does that make sense? I purchased the Groupon for highlights and a cut and style but apparently that doesn’t include toner, so that was an extra $ 50. Also, I asked for a straight cut with no layers and she said she needed to texturize and layer for it to look good and it ended up making my hair look very thin. I started getting scared when she was cutting and said she fixed it because it was so thick — I liked my thick hair! It’s the absolute worse haircut I’ve ever gotten and I showed a very simple straight haircut I wanted and then she curled it without asking — making it look even shorter and more different than what I asked for. Let’s just say I’m embarrassed to even be seen at this point. My husband said I look like David Bowie in Zoolander! On a positive note, I got my eyebrows waxed and they came out great.

I have been going to Julianne since… well…for as long as I’ve been getting highlights — well over 15 years (wow I feel old). She and the other Salon G staff are awesome. So sweet and accommodating. After all these years, I literally just sit in the chair and say «do whatever you want.»
I can only think of a couple of times I’ve done something drastically different, but Julianne knows which looks are trendy and fun, how certain colors/​treatments will react with my hair, and most important, what will look good on me! She’s nice and stylish, and knows hair. I moved to nyc 4 years ago and I still come back to Edison to have my highlights and cut done. It’s a bit of a hike, but I can’t abandon what I know and love. Thanks for everything, Julianne and Salon G!

When I wanted highlights, I was terrified to get the job done. I looked up reviews and went with Erin. I have had my highlights for about a month and am beyond thrilled with the work she did. I showed her pictures, explained what I wanted and what I didn’t and she listened to every request. I receive compliments on the color often and plan to use her going forward. Overall, Salon G does quality work. Their work may cost but their skill matches every penny.

I moved from California 3 months ago and was dreading the day I had to get my hair done. I had been with my colorist for over 10 years. I texted her back and forth with links and salons for her to approve. She finally approved this salon and told me «it sounds legit.» She reviewed the colorist on the website and chose Erin for me. There is something special about the colorist-​client relationship, because she chose amazingly! The salon is cute and hip. Erin didn’t even mind when I showed her my color formula and even got the owner involved to make sure she was matching properly. All in all, it turned out perfect. I am so relieved and happy. At the end, the owner was so cute and proud of her salon, as she sent me away with a cute gift bag and a magazine that rated the salon top 100.

Stephanie did my hair today, GIna has also colored it in the past. Stephanie did a phenomenal job and did exactly what I wanted. Love the style of the place and everyone is very sweet.

I love Jeannie at Salon G. She is the best stylist I’ve ever had. I wanted bright red highlights and she gave them to me. When she first did them they weren’t exactly what I wanted so she had me come back the next day and did them again no charge. I’ve never been happier with my hair and Jeannie is amazing at understanding what I want even though sometimes I don’t even know what I want.
The salon itself is nice on the inside. Extra points from me for the purple accent wall because it’s my favorite color. The whole staff is friendly and professional. You can tell they love what they do. The first time I went there it was Christmas Eve I was the last appointment and they were so friendly and happy even though I’m sure they wanted to leave to go be with their families. I was truly impressed. I’ve been there 4 times since and I’ve never had a bad experience.
If your looking to try a new salon or just moved to the area Salon G is the way to go!

Rude Rude Owner .
The Hair Stylist gave me a nice hair colour but she messed up my highlights. owner was soo rude to mee when I told her I did not liked the highlights. It was not visible actully. She got mad at mee. She said you should be Happy with Wht you got. Such a rude women.

Over priced and over rated. The staff is unprofessional, it’s a «gossipy» salon and the owner, Gina will talk about customers with other staff… while your sitting the in the chair. My stylist, Kaylan was fantastic but has since left the salon along with everyone I referred for the same reason. The salon also raises prices without notice. Magazine ratings are based on work… not class!

I’ve been to this salon a few years ago and went there for a haircut and blow dry. I went twice thinking she was a professional and knew more than me. First cut was okay which I thought maybe it was me sihnce I got two reviews from two other young women I knew and there hair looked good. They were of European descent. I went again and told the owner/​stylist that the razor she used made my hair’s ends frizzy but she said it wasn’t that and used the razor again to cut my long’s layers which made my hair frizz AGAIN AND MUCH WORSE. I am of Asian descent and it ruined my hair. It look me two-​plus years to grow out completely what she did to my hair. My hair texture is finally smooth and silky again the way it was when I first walked in. I will never go to Salon G again.

Great staff who are very up-​to-​date on trends. Great prices & daily specials on Facebook which is a plus. Also, a very clean & nice looking salon which is a must!

Pros: clean, affordable, great color, great cuts. Kaylan is a great stylist (also good with color!) who listens to what you have to say and knows how to give you what you want. She even saved me from a disastrous cut I got from someone else.
Cons: I haven’t come across any.
I come into this salon from NYC because the cuts are good and the prices are right. I’d recommend it to anyone living the Edison area, and specifically recommend Kaylan.
