Dr Santamaria is the best! Had cataract surgery I do not need glasses for distance. had bad night driving its a miracle. I only need glasses for reading… cheaters work fine. Staff is great the only negative is that it is very challenging to get a live person on the phone… sometimes you get the answering service even if the office is open!

Problem with billing. Insurance company requires letter of medical necessity in order to pay claim fully. After multiple requests to this office, the office manager stated they «do not write letters of medical necessity.» This refusal to write the letter as requested has caused me to be stuck paying a bill that would otherwise be paid by my health insurance. I will never return to this office due to their refusal to write a letter of medical necessity as per my request.

First, I have to admit I’ve been going to Dr Santamaria for my eye maintenance for years. He’s not only my eye doctor, but a friend and mentor. However, my review will be objective and honest.
The office is in the back of the Menlo Park Mall, which can be confusing to find. But once you do it, you’ll never forget how to get there. (It’s the big red building in the back). Take the elevator to the 4^th floor and make a right. Now you’re there.
The staff is friendly, bi-​lingual and very professional. They love conversing and making you feel comfortable. They’re thorough with making sure they cover all angles of your health, especially your vision.
Dr Santamaria is always so charming and friendly. He’s like an exceptional host in a wonderful home. His examination of your eyes is complete and as comfortable as possible. He’s very knowledgable regarding your eyes from all perspectives.
Besides check-​ups, I’ve had lazor surgery in his facility that saved my vision years ago. I’ll never forget how on a Labor Day weekend he got me into his office to have my partial loss of vision in my right eye checked immediately and corrected. That’s a great doctor.
