The Sushi Bar

I love this place! Everytime we go, everyone is super nice and the food is great! We tried the Udon noodle dishes, one chicken and one steak, and it is so flavorful my 6yo ate the sautéed red bell peppers! We had a lot left over and the next day was just as good. Our waitress was amazing, she entertained my kids and talked with them. Great overall experience!

Can’t say enough good things about this place. Food always fresh and delicious, good drink menu and everyone from the hostess Quinn to the bus boys are friendly and professional.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. I had recently been to the one on memorial for lunch and was disappointed with the quality of the lunch boxes. My friends had taken me to that one based on their previous experiences at this location. We went on a Friday night for the «happy hour». We decided to go there early (9:00pm) and start with some drinks and appetizers. It was kinda hard to decipher the rules for the happy hour. If you get there before 10:00 you must order from the regular menu in order to be «eligible» for happy hour menu items after 10:00, otherwise you have to pay $ 10 penalty per person to be «able» to have happy-​hour items.
We needed up ordering the plate for 6 people and I have to say it was superb!!!
The quality of the food and the selection of the tray items, plus the value for the money was way way better than I expected.
I will go back based on the quality of the food (ambiance is ok, service is ok).

The Sushi Bar is my favorite sushi restaurant in the Edmond/​OKC area! I come on a pretty regular basis, especially for half price sushi! The Sushi Bar has half price sushi every Thursday, Friday, & Saturday night, 10pm to 1am. The atmosphere is great & laid back & the service is always top notch!!!
This evening I made my way into The Sushi Bar for late night, half price sushi this evening & I had another wonderful experience. Our waitress tonight was Lan P., she’s waited on me several times & each time she just gets better. We ordered 2 Captain Crunch rolls & 1 Big O with a couple of modifications & she of course got everything correct & served us with a smile!

Fantastic sushi! Best sushi I have had in the Edmond/​OKC area. Really great service. My only complaint would be the noise. I don’t think that the place is set up for really good conversation unless you are sitting right next to the person. Other than that it is excellent.

The sushi and the service were great ! Despite how the busy it is at the restaurant, the food and the service were still fast ! I love the food there, but there are not many roll with crawfish. Me and my bf love sushi roll with crawfish ~

Weekly patrons & we have enjoyed every single visit! Quality sushi, friendly & helpful staff, & willing to accommodate special orders. Plus a good selection of wines, beers & liquor. They are well-​known, so expect to wait if you visit on a weekend night — Totally worth it though!

Truly delicious sushi, a great atmosphere, and very attentive staff make this one of my favorite sushi places in the Metro!
My favorite roll so far is the Naughty Girl. You can get it with fresh salmon too… soooo good!

Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s not. It’s consistently inconsistent! And that gets it kicked off the rotation, especially after trying out the new Japanese rez in town. I will admit that Sushi Bar still has the best quality fish, but presentation is sloppy and service is either great or kick-​a-​puppy terrible. Try the Hamachi Kama. Best I’ve ever had.

I like this restaurant. They have really big straws. I can suck water in my face as fast as humanly possible.

This place is THE best sushi in town. You can really tell the high quality of ingredients and food compared to others in town. Although it is a bit pricey, and we expect to spend some money when we go here, it is well worth it.
We don’t eat the raw Nigiri stuff, so almost everything we get has something cooked in it. The Scratchy roll is hands down my favorite. The smoked salmon on top is the perfect balance with the cream cheese and crabstick. Our other favorites are the Cousins roll, Naughty girl, Captain crunch and Big O roll. Beware of the Big O, it is fully cooked and a large roll. It’s one that can get very heavy… so we like to split it. But I don’t think you can go wrong with anything here. Service is always great, and even calling in a to-​go order is ready good time.
I could go on and on… but it all comes down to one thing. This. Place. Is. So. Good.

This is definitely my favorite place to get sushi. Also, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10pm-​1am they have an amazing half price sushi deal. They serve amazing sushi for even more amazing prices! This is a great hang out for UCO students too.

I liked The Sushi Bar just from the get-​go. It’s very open, airy, plenty of seating, and an ample bar to sit at.
And the sushi is pretty tasty, to boot! I initially ordered the Baja California and the Spicy Tuna Roll – both rolls were delicious and definitely on the spicy side. I came starving, having swam 2 hours at the pool earlier, so I ended up ordering a Philadelphia roll for a palate cleanse and extra bite. With the small order of edamame I had prior to the sushi, I left feeling full, but not stuffed.
My corner of the bar was right by where they set the sushi out for the wait staff to pick up, so I saw all the decadent rolls everyone else ordered in all their glory. I regret not trying the Captain Crunch roll – which was one of my final contenders, but lost out to Spicy Tuna. Matt P. told me the other night that this roll is absolutely delicious, so I want to return and give this roll a try.
For a Sunday night, it was pretty poppin’. Not uncomfortably crowded, but pleasantly busy. That was a great sign that I picked a good place to eat! My waiter was very kind, albeit a little distracted with my being on the other side of the bar and it being busy – I wasn’t terribly offended though. I had a book with me and was having a leisurely dinner to end the weekend, so no rush from me.
Definitely give their sushi a try!

The custom sushi is very impressive. Based on recommendations from regulars, I ordered the Naughty Girl with baked shrimp (instead of tempura) and fresh salmon (instead of baked). Also had the Fisherman’s roll. Fish was very fresh. The ginger is high quality — not what you find at most sushi places. The rice was a slightly different texture than what I’m used to, but was told this is normal for the area.
They had a good sake collection with a scale system to help you choose based on your preferred sweet vs dry level. Also had a good wine selection and a full bar. Beers were bottled only.
Miso soup was a little too salty for my taste, but otherwise was good.
Probably the only thing keeping this from a 5-​star is the service. We had a 7pm reservation but didn’t get seated until 7:35 … On a Tuesday night. And I had to do a little extra work to make our server crack a smile. He may have been stressed out Bev it was so busy. They have a second location about to open up so hopefully that will alleviate the service pressures.
Will definitely want to go back next time I’m in the area.

Best sushi! Love their late hours, happy hour and their daily fish specials are so fresh. John, behind the bar, is friendly and always makes you feel like family. Highly recommend!

I’ve good and bad points.
First the bad point. The first night I ate at the restaurant most of the food was good – aside from the ikura. It’s one of my favorite types of sushi but for some reason it was bitter and I pretty much pushed the plate away after a bite. I’m not sure if it was just a one time thing, but I’m hesitant to order it there again.
The good points – aside from the ikura, everything else was delicious. Having lived in Japan for four years I’ve gotten a bit spoiled, but their salmon nigiri never disappoints. I come here at least once a week for their lunch specials, and their unagi bento is delicious. I always swap the bento salad for edamame.
So aside from the bad ikura incident, it’s a delicious sushi restaurant. The best I’ve had in Oklahoma so far.

This place is fabulous. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing and the staff is super friendly. The owner is usually there as well and is very nice.
I could eat the chicken salad and summer roll
. They are so good. And If you like to change things up that are very willing to give it a try. I often ask for my rolls wrapped in cucumber rather than the usual rice and seaweed.
My kids love the roll options also as well as the kids meals. My daughter gets a chicken and cream cheese roll with soy paper, so it’s pink and more attractive.
My older kids just order off the regular sushi menu. Big o and cheese stick (?) are their faces.
You should definitely give them a try. They always got sports on and theirs a full bar.

Best sushi place in OKC in my opinion.
I’m a regular. I sit at the bar, and John places my order without so much as a «what are we having today?», which is awesome. They have a great atmosphere, fabulous food, and good drink selection. The service is good and if you become a regular like me, they remember you. Personally, I get the «Naughty Girl» roll with fresh tuna on top instead of the baked salmon, and a «Jim’s Crab» roll with spicy mayo on the side. Happiness on a plate. Who could ask for anything more?

For you foodies that only like cooked sushi rolls, well the sushi bar features over 30 cooked, fried, & baked rolls. After 10pm on Thursday’s Friday & Saturday they feature half price rolls & $ 3.50 you call it cocktails! Also there is live music. There will be large crowds & waiting so get there eArly on those night’s I mentioned above. The ambiance is inviting. My date and I sat in comfy oversized leather chairs. Our server was very friendly and helpful in explaining certain rolls. I really loved the captain crunch roll & the baked salmon. Yummy.
